TIL the Elora gorge sits on top of a much older much bigger gorge formed before the last glacial period. This was discovered when wells being drilled in Elora had to go much deeper than expected to hit bedrock.

Thought this was a cool fact, I recently fell down a wiki hole looking at the geology of Ontario.
It is time to say goodbye with my wife's phone that was dropped when tubing at Elora Gorge. Still I can see where it is but I cannot get it out.

Iβve found two different sites with one saying closed and one with booking slots open (and Covid measures in place)

Camping in Elora Gorge vs Bruce Peninsula
I'm planning a camping trip for October and am deciding between the two spots. I know that tubing at the Gorge and Quarry will be closed. It sounds like there's still plenty of places to hike/kayak/swim in both parks, right?
Does anyone with experience at these locations have any recommendations? I'd like something to escape with for a while, but running water and some kind of bathrooms are preferred.
