I saw two kids fighting on the elementary school playground and being the only adult around, I had to step in.

Little bastards didn’t stand a chance…

book i read in elementary about a 5 year old boy who’s mother was shot by the step father, and he rubbed the bloody button from her jacket after her murder throughout the entire book. i’m pretty sure it took place in russia/in a russian family

it was graphic for elementary school so we stopped reading 60% of the way through. at the beginning the step father had been known for being abusive to the child, not letting him eat, making him sleep in the pantry, and other things i don’t really remember. after the step father had shot the child’s mother in an argument, he tried taking the child to an orphanage and the child ran away and joined a group of homeless kids. they would hide in underground areas and her close with animals especially cats. i remember the title being about wolves, but we didn’t get too far into the actual climax of the book. there was a death part of the “grandma cat” from the cold, a part where the kid got his fingers stuck in a vent thing while the cops were trying to pull him from out of under a bench and it was talking about how his fingers were bleeding and breaking. i know that the boy had been targeted by this other 17/18 year old homeless guy who was also with the people he stayed with, and that guy tried shooting the little boy but another lady who had also been watching him saved his life. and there was also a part of this girl who he slept under benches with and some random business man picked her up, took her home, washed her hair and gave her new clothes, and dropped her back off. i’m not totally sure where this took place but it was extremely cold weather and in a busily populated area(i think) and the little boy kept referencing “babushka” as his grandma so that’s why i assume it’s russian related

Why are termolecular elementary steps very rare?

I know that collision of 3 molecules in their proper orientation is very rare, but can someone elaborate on this.
