The Cambridge C2 exam is not easy for me, a native English speaker.
I took a look at the Cambridge C2 exam just for fun. I was really surprised to find out that I did not know the answers to some of the questions. I thought it would be doing basic addition and subtraction because I am, after all, a native speaker.
The texts (reading comprehension) are also pretty challenging to read- I can also see why they (edit:would) be extremely difficult for a non-native speaker. Iβm not sure if I would be able to answer all the questions correctly within the allotted time.
Lastly, the writing task- yea, difficult lol. I have not written an actual essay in English for a very long time, Iβm very sure I would have scored quite low for that section. Maybe if I had a day or 2, I could produce something decent. But under 2 hours? No way. And donβt even get me started on summarising texts.

Easy to get an English-speaking job in Warsaw?
I'm curious, I've just spent some time in Warsaw and fell in love with the place. I speak a bit of Polish, enough to get me by, food/drink/shopping, but not enough to work professionally.
Are there any English-speaking jobs that would allow me to work in Poland? I'm skilled in customer service and IT (currently work as an IT analyst). I'd of course do Polish on the side so I can speak it better...
Thanks!

What's an easy move for an English couple in their early 30's?
Hi all,
So me and my partner, aged 31 and 33, went travelling through 2019 and were forced home due to covid in early 2020. Safe to say since returning home to England we have not enjoyed our time here and are pretty desperate to move abroad, however after plenty of research it doesn't sound like an easy process, especially since Brexit. It seems a lot of places do under 30's work visas but that boat has obviously sailed for us.
So this begs the question, can anyone recommend some countries with easy and simple entry requirements for an English couple in their early 30's to live and work?? We have a good amount of money behind us for the move, just looking for somewhere where a work visa is easily granted. Looks like a good way is to have a job offer already, but I imagine getting that before a work visa is not easy.
I know the question is a bit broad, but we are just looking for some suggestions of places that we can look into further. We have heard the UAE is an easy move for the British but its not really an area we have much interest in.
Thanks for all your help.
Edit: A bit more about us, I am currently a team leader in a logistics warehouse but on a temp contract. My partner was police for around 8 years, although no longer an officer she still works closely with the police. I have a University Degree in Film, her education is limited.

Perhaps a long shot but weβre in desperate need of Bosnian boy names that are easy to pronounce in English.
Weβre expecting our first child in three months and have yet to agree on a name. My husband and I are both Bosnian but moved to the US at a very young age. Weβre looking for a recognizably Bosnian name that wonβt be butchered his entire life - itβs been quite a challenge.
I love the name Miralem but perhaps itβs a bit too complicated? Zaim is also on the list and Iβd love to hear how native English speakers would pronounce it at first.
Any Bosnians out there? What did you name your sons? We need help!

As an American growing up in the US, I've only ever read the history of the pursuit of the atomic bomb from the perspective of the US. What are some easy reading, good historical books written in English about the Soviet pursuit of the atomic bomb?
Nonfiction, preferred, but a well written novel with accurate historical context could work too.

If I want to apply to a writing-heavy major like Political Science, does this English curriculum seem too easy: English 9 Gened, English 10 HN, English 11 Gened, AP Lit? I decided to take a risk my senior yr and if I do well++ in AP Lit (as I am now), does it outweigh not doing AP Lang/9 HN before?
^BTW, I will be taking AP World, APUSH before, and AP US Gov / AP Comp Gov with this (currently have a high A in Lit and prob gonna get a 4/5 on the AP exam). Thx!

So I want to write my own book one day and I would like to learn English grammar a lot better. Everything from what a verb is to what past perfect does and so on, etc...
I would like maybe a step-by-step guide in some form that goes through all English grammar. Infinitive, simple past etc...

When speaking English, what in your accent makes it easy for people to guess what your native language is ?
I was told itβs mostly my flat voice tone that betrays me. Thereβs no tonal emphasis in French really and I keep the same intonation when speaking English.
So, itβs not so much the typical βrβ, and βthβ issues for me. I do drop the βhβ in the beginning of words and accentuate too much the βtβ though, which is typical too.

Do you have easy to work through resources on English tutoring and teaching in general? I would be extremely grateful. π
I'll need resources on grammar and on general methodology at the very least, levels anywhere from A1 to B2.
I have ADHD so it's really important for me that the resources are easy to focus on(e.g. engaging, short) rather than dry and technical and long-winded.

Looking for a name that is easy to pronounce in English and German
Hi guys! My fiancΓ© and I have been discussing baby names a lot. We are very seriously considering moving to Germany or Austria before our kids are school-aged, and because of this, we are trying to come up with some names for our future kids that will not be βunpronounceableβ for our families or for the people they will be living near in Europe.
He loves names like Gunter, Heinrich, and Hilda (I do not like these names) and I like names that are more American-sounding. Maybe my taste will change once weβve been more immersed in German culture, but for right now, thatβs what Iβve got.
Of popular German names Iβve seen online, I like names like Adelaide, Lukas, and Katrina. I also would like our child to have at least one name (first or middle is equally fine) that is somewhat androgynous, but it from my research, it seems like androgynous names are not very normal in Germany and Austria. Any advice or suggestions?
