I am based in India and planning to buy this model.
I am heavily confused about the display of the laptop. It says it is WVA display (Wide Viewing Angle) , but either in website of Dell or on the Amazon page it is not very clear , it is a TN display or IPS display or something in between. I read somewhere Dell uuses the term WVA to avoid trademark issues with LG.But I am not convinced as other manufacturers directly use the term 'IPS' in their product specification.
Someone who might have researched more on this topic , please shaed some light on this.

I have a ~3 year old Dell Inspiron 14 7000 laptop and just got an alert about needing to replace the battery. The health is 'poor' and does hold a charge, just not for very long. What is the best way to replace the battery? I see that it's not as easily removable as other laptop I've owned.
Can I take it to a repair shop for replacement? Or should I go through Dell specifically? I'm just a little confused on whether the $39 (or $59 expedited) "hardware diagnostics" is needed-- I don't really need a full diagnostics, just the battery replacement. I'm too afraid to change it myself if it's more complicated than just plugging something in!
Hello to everyone ! I am having a hard time to decide between the 2 following laptops : HP Omen 16 (Ryzen 7 5800H + Radeon RX6600M) vs Dell Inspiron 16 Plus (Intel Core I7 11800H + Nvidia RTX3060). Except from the CPU they both have 16GB of RAM and 1To SSD.
The HP Omen has a better refresh rate (165hz vs 60hz), response time (3ms vs 35ms) and TGP (100W vs 60W) but will it be useful for casual gaming ?
On the other hand the Dell has a better definition (3K), battery life, and I really love his design more (thinner, sober, lighter, thinner bezels, aluminium vs plastic...) and it is important to me.
Here is a link to a comparator between tech specs of the laptops : https://nanoreview.net/en/laptop-compare/hp-omen-16-2021-amd-vs-dell-inspiron-16-plus-7610?m=b.2_c.1_d.2_g.2_r.1_s.2-and-b.2_c.2_g.3_r.2_s.3
Price at the time I am writing this (thanks to various discounts in my country) :
DELL Inspiron 16 Plus : 1400β¬
HP Omen 16 : 1296β¬
I will be using it mainly for everyday use (browsing, youtube, movies and series) but I am looking for good GPUs because I want to be able to do some casual gaming (very occasionally fps) and I expect it to last at least 5 years or more and still be able to do some casual gaming with the new games that will be always more demanding.
I have heard that both can have pretty bad trackpad issues, I just don't know which one has a better chance to be functionning properly.
Which one would you advise for me please ?
Thank you very much in advance !
Sorry for the long post and for my writing, I'm not a native english speaker !
Lenovo Legion Y740
17" 144Hz, G-Sync, Intel i7-8750H (6c/12t), 32gb, Nvidia 2070 MaxQ (8gb vram), 500gb Samsung 960 EVO, 2tb Firecuda 2.5" hdd, RGB Keyboard and chassis lights.
Physically used very lightly. Always used with external monitors and only opened the lid to turn it on. Never took it anywhere and am the original owner. Also, the 2070 is 80w, but you can boost it to 90w by pressing "Fn+Q". In my quick test it showed 93w with 10% gain on Passmark. I never gamed on it so I can't vouch for performance. I just bought it because of the total package at the time. Got a new laptop now, so this has to go. I may be able to bench something if its free. Let me know.
Asking $800 shipped / $750 Local Sold to nageki333 for $800 shipped.
Dell Inspiron 5575
Ryzen 5 2500u, 16gb, 512gb Samsung 970 EVO Plus, 1080p IPS Touchscreen, Backlit Keyboard, DVD Drive, and room for a 2.5" drive (might need a caddy for spinning drive or maybe 2-sided tape for a ssd). Original TN screen was replaced with IPS Touchscreen when new due to horrible viewing angles. You have to actually look hard to find micro-scratches on chassis.
Asking $300 Shipped / $250 Local Sold to Roller11 for $280 shipped.
Dell Latitude 7490
14" 1080p, Intel i5 8350u vPro, 16gb, 256gb Samsung SSD, Looks like it has cellular radios (see pic), although I've never tried using it or the smart card reader.
Very reliable and gently used. No wear I can see.
Asking $450 shipped / $400 Local
All adult owned, pet and smoke free home. I take really good care of my stuff.

Hey guys, upgraded my laptop so this one is up for sale.

Dell Inspiron, 13 inch, i5 7200U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD
Used as a college laptop for a while, and itβs been great for it. It is the touchscreen and 180 hinge model so you can kinda use it as a tablet, but I never really used that feature. Webcam works well with Zoom, and the keyboard is backlit which is really nice.
I also used to play a bit of League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics on the machine, both worked very well!
Iβve had some issues with the battery, at some times itβll last hours others itβll shoot down to 10% without warning, Iβm not totally sure what the issue is. YMMV, and selling it as-is.
As you can also see in pic 1, there's a small dent on the front
Looking for $200 shipped, not too interested in trades.
Let me know if you've got any questions
EDIT: Ok 4 people have PM'd me asking to buy it and then ghosted me. Please stop doing that, it's really annoying
EDIT 2: SOLD
Window's 10 is absolutely calm just wondering if there are any benefits of moving up to Win11? New squidgy edges seem pretty cool
Why is my Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 NVME showing up in disk management on windows 11 as a full 1tb but C drive only shows 460gb on Dell Inspiron 5501? Also, how do I fix this and show the full 1tb on my C drive? Picture below and if you need more information on the cloning process and what software I used, or any other information let me know. I didn't use Samsung Migration software and I will let you know why if you ask.
I have tried Ubuntu, Linux Mint Xfce and Manjaro Xfce. They were too slow at startup and launching applications.
Just wanting some advice on what's the best thing to do here. I have a 5.5 year old Dell Inspiron 15 5559 and have probably exhausted all options outside of upgrading actual hardware. Using this thing is so frustrating now as it's horrendously slow.
I'm now in two minds about whether to upgrade any components on it (thinking I'm probably just limited to switching the HDD for SSD?) or buying a new one altogether. Probably just clarify that I don't really need a laptop as I have a PC I built earlier this year. It's just nice to have a working one available.
Specs I could find for the laptop are:
So, should I upgrade some part of this or give up on it? I don't even know if I can upgrade anything other than the HDD and I'm not sure what's a better SSD to go for to use in it.
Thanks!
Quick edit as pointed out in the comments: only wanting to use it for web browsing and life admin (using office programmes like Word and Excel) and Iβd rather not spend much if I can avoid it. Likely not wanting to spend any more than Β£150/200.
Maybe a week or 2 ago my laptop started doing this thing where the fan turns on and doesn't stop running and I can't figure out why. Before then it would turn on when I was playing games or would have a few streams up simultaneously. But now after about a minute or 2 of usage the fan kicks on and just never stops. Even if I were to put my laptop to sleep the fan stops for all of 2 seconds before turning back on. This doesn't happen when I put the laptop in hibernate. I updated all the bios and drivers but to no avail can't figure out what's causing this. Is it a fan issue itself?
Hey been seeing a lot of people asking for a cheap laptop so i pulled this thing out and am selling it for 50$ shipped, 50$ local cash. I just popped in a 256g ssd, it has 8g like the picture, windows 10 pro, dvd rw, working battery although not sure on life. Works fine pretty clean is the basic gist of the laptop. Was my mother in laws, she has since been upgraded to a tablet with a keyboard attachment.
If someone needs itll be here. Thanks
Edit: oh itll come with a 90w charger. Forgot to add that
Double edit: it is pending response. Please do not bother offering me more money i wont be selling any other way other than order of messages to me. Also i have a few more of these ill dig up and post since so many people have messaged me. Please give me some time. Ill get them posted when i can
final edit: if i see ur post history and youre a reseller youre being ignored. ffs this is for people who need it not looking to make a buck. jeez louise i hate people.
SPECS:
RAM: 4GB DDR4 2400MHz
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz
HDD: 1TB 5400 rpm
Graphics Chipset: Radeon (TM) 530 with 2GGDDR5 & Intel UHD 620
OS: Windows 10 Home-HE 64-bit
Iβve been looking through buying 8GB RAM DDR4 2400MHz but Iβm not sure if thatβs correctβ¦ will I be able to finally play my games smoothly?
I play genshin and valorant (and obviously for school work too) will adding 8GB 2400mhz ddr4 help speed up my games/laptop? is it compatible?
I just aim on buying a cheap one first.
I recently got a 240hz monitor (aw2721d if anyone curious). It looks and works great, I am absolutely happy with it... aside from the fact it is capped at 144hz which I am quite disappointed about. I know it's a common problem, but I tried everything that came to my mind:
The same way I cannot set 10bit colors, but that I don't care at all.
Also, the possibly related specs:
Is there anything else I could try or am I just hard(ware) stuck on it and have to get a new PC? Also, is there a chance games would actually run in higher frequencies despite the desktop does not?
Hello!
thank you in advance guys!
I just bought a headset from Amazon which has 3.5mm jack and also came with a splitter.
Does the port #11 in the pic support 3.5mm jack?
I have been watching youtube videos for 3 hours now but still can't make it work.....
I've gone to every setting and did all the suggestions but none of them worked...
please help T___T)!!
