Compendium of experiences/typical work-day from different specialties

Hey friends. I remember finding a reddit-thread containing collections of experiences from different specialties some month ago - where different specialists answered the same series of questions. The answers were collected in a large post sorted by specialty. As an intern wildly unsure about what specialty to go for I really enjoyed this post.

Problem is I can't seem to find it anymore. My searching is giving me nada. Would anyone happen to know what post I'm talking about, and have a link?

AMCP 2017 - Need handouts for - [P1] Specialty Pharmaceuticals in Development

I am downloading the handouts from AMCP, but the handouts for the ESI pipeline presentation (the first session) are locked. Any chance that someone out there who attended has the handouts available that you could share?

I am writing up my conference summary for work and want to include some highlights from each of the sessions I attended. If you have a copy, would you be willing to share?

This annotated version of Sander's M4A and its implications for physicians from a Full quotes appear below, but some highlights include: patients keeping their physicians, physicians being able to opt out of m4a, US government having greater role in medical education and specialty availability

These are direct quotes that come from the following cnn.com article

  • Sanders promises Americans access to the doctors they currently see and more. But his system assumes that doctors will take part. Just as many doctors do not take part in the current Medicare and insurance systems, some would likely sidestep the government program and seek payment on a fee-for-service basis outside Medicare for All.
  • While providers would have protections under the plan, they would also have responsibilities. And it is an either-or scenario. Either they enroll as a Medicare for All provider or they go outside the system.
  • The bill does specifically envision private agreements β€” not insurance β€” between individuals and providers or groups of providers outside of Medicare for All. But providers, once they enter into such agreements, cannot participate in the government program for a year.
  • One fact of US health care is that American doctors make more money than their counterparts in other countries. There are many reasons for that, but one clear way to contain the cost of health care is to contain the amount doctors are paid. Granted, they should have a much simpler time being reimbursed under a single-payer system and more of their time will be spent treating patients. But their bottom lines might also shrink. That’s one reason some doctors could opt out. Hospitals too. In the current system, private insurance pays higher rates to hospitals and doctors than Medicare and Medicaid do.
  • The federal government would take a much bigger role in assessing the landscape of educating doctors and determining how many specialists are needed in a given field. The US currently has a system that prioritizes specialization over general medicine. And that’s not saving anyone money.
  • There are many pages of this bill that deal with sunsetting the bramble of ways the US government currently helps Americans with health care β€” Medicare, Obamacare, Tricare, federal employee benefits and more β€” and unifying them in this new plan.

I’m Lucas Richert, an expert in the history of pharmaceuticals, the historical director for the American Institute of the History of Pharmacy at UW-Madison, and the author of β€œBreak On Through.” AMA!

Hi Reddit –

I’m Lucas Richert, the historical director for the American Institute of the History of Pharmacy at UW-Madison, a nearly 80-year-old institute dedicated to advancing the knowledge and understanding of the history of pharmacy and medicines. I’m also co-editor in chief of Social History of Alcohol and Drugs: An Interdisciplinary Journal and author of a new book with the MIT Press called β€œBreak On Through,” which draws on archives and government documents, medical journals, and interviews, and interweaves references to pop (counter)culture to historicize the radical mental health practices in the 1960s and 70s. I published another book (β€œStrange Trips”) earlier this year that focuses on the contentious relationship between scientific knowledge, cultural assumptions, and social concerns. My hope β€” particularly with β€œBreak On Through” β€” is to promote the discussion of mental health by placing the histories of American mental health, pharmaceutical use, and intoxicant use in dialogue with one another, all within the context of mainstream and fringe therapies.

Questions about the history of drugs or pharmaceuticals? The field of psychiatry in the 1960s and 70s? Over the past few years, I've written and taught about how and why we control and regulate drugs in CANADA and the US. And I've tried to understand the major swings and struggles in modern mental health care. I’m here from 1 – 3 PM EST β€” ask me anything! (if you can’t make it then, you can find me on Twitter @LucRichert and @drughistory.)

  • Fix the relic formula for low stage (<10k).
  • Fix display of skill effect in the wiki part.
  • Update wiki part with new skills.
  • Drop builds until we update them.

DarkBot

  • Optimize bot typing usage to avoid time out.
  • According to a poll, change the calculation command to just link the compendium tools instead of doing the calc.
  • d?relics command allow manual input now.
  • d?builds command will now display a disclaimer until we update the builds.

My comments on Railjack/Empyrean's game design, and a compendium of messages to DE

Considering my surprisingly low rate of encountering bugs, especially compared to what everyone else seems to be running into, I thought I'd write up a quick list of my takes on the most hot-button non-bug design elements:

  • Randomized Wreckage Stats: I actually don't take issue with this, because if a better thing comes along, either another piece of Wreckage or clan research parts, keep in mind you can scrap the old Wreckage for 100% of the invested materials, and as for scrapping it ahead of time for Dirac, the Dirac gains from doing this aren't high enough for me to care. If they were increased, say, by an order of magnitude I might care, but 25 Dirac is a pittance at the moment.
  • Refining materials: For the love of Clem, DE, GET RID OF THIS. I think I understand what you were going for, but it just, doesn't work. Get rid of the limit on Forge materials storage entirely, and just give us our unused mats when the mission ends. Period. If you want to maintain the Engineer intrinsic to basically multiply mats that get refined, fine, keep that, but the overarching mechanic as it is needs to go.
  • Consumable resources: Get rid of them, switch all 4 to cooldown/regen timers. If you're so dead-set on Ordnance and Artillery charges being consumable, then take a tip from FTL: Faster Than Light (Which I see Empyrean as basically a 3D version of) and let them drop from killed enemy ships. The Repair tool's Revolite and Avionics/Tactical Abilities' Flux Energy should just recharge over time, modified by passive Avionics and our Reactor.
  • Damage and Health balancing from the Railjack, Archwing, and Enemies: MAKE THE RAILJACK MORE SURVIVABLE, IT'S A WARSHIP, NOT A PAPER MACHE SCIENCE FAIR MODEL. Enemy Fighter health seems okay, (granted I've heard terrible things about their health regen in Veil Proxima but I haven't gotten there yet) but Crewships are far too tanky, and it seems like the only way to outright kill them is with Artillery or a boarding party, at least let them die if we pound them with enough turret shots. Revert the changes to Archwing weapons in-space and make Archwings more survivable in Railjack missions, because a constant risk of getting oneshot at any given moment is NOT fun.
  • Isolation from the rest of the game: At Tennocon '19 Steve talked about "connecting" Warframe together. Empyrean just feels like another Island of Content at the moment, that could be resolved in two very simple ways: 1. Allow us to farm base-game resources from R
