Does the human body store "materials" to build "on-demand" substances (like saliva, mucus, tears, blood, semen) in some "warehouse" and do these substances share common building blocks (e.g. water)?

I've been doing some woodworking recently and I noticed my body doesn't seem to have a shortage of mucus.

I'm pretty sure (though still guessing) the body doesn't have a tank of mucus waiting to get secreted, so I assume the body instead stores common building blocks somewhere and build the secretions on the fly.

Observation: NTs appear to parse common phrases as the building blocks of sentences moreso than individual words.

What I base this on is several instances where I said something that seemed totally comprehensible to me, but had to repeat myself once or twice to be understood.

When I pointed this out, the explanation I was given is that "nobody else says it that way". This has never prevented me from understanding spoken sentences, and I hypothesize it's because aspies parse sentences in a more granular, word-by-word way.

It may just be me, I don't know. These are probably not good examples as I struggle to think of some off the top of my head, but it's the difference between "Go to" and "traverse the distance between". The difference between "Fuck him up" and "engage in combat with".

Speech is a very lossy mode of information exchange. It seems to me as if having a shared lexicon of commonly used phrases allows one to extrapolate the rest of a phrase even if they hear only part of it.

Not using these phrases, instead building sentences differently each time in whatever way you feel will most accurately express what you want to, seems to disrupt that mechanism.

I suspect it takes less calories to parse sentences the way NTs do. They can do it almost on autopilot, while only half-listening. Communicating in a way which requires them to be more attentive also demands more effort/energy from them, which I think explains their irritation.

Anyway, I would like to hear your thoughts about this matter if you feel like sharing them.

[HELP] Good common building blocks aside from stone or wood

I find myself trying to make a structure in survival mode, and I'd ideally like to make things less gray but not flammable because fireplaces are great. That rules out stone, wood, and wool. Can anyone think of a common, stone-ish material that meets these qualifications?

I've tried bricks, but they often look ugly out of moderation.

Thanks.

Is it common for cases to have their own physical building as an investigative space?

This is the only crime I follow in any meaningful way so I don't have a gauge for what is normal or expected.

But it seems unusual to me. That's a lot of resources. Don't get me wrong, that's great! But it seems generally unsustainable financially to devote full time staff, utilities, and real estate to individual crimes.

Is this common LE practice in large cases like this? Why would this be deemed necessary or even beneficial to segregate everything out this way?

Who are the building blocks for 2022+?

Realistically speaking, who do you guys think are the guys to build around?

β€’ Fields: this one is obvious

β€’ Herbert/Monty: both guys are very good tailbacks on rookie contracts. Do the Bears try to possibly offload Monty for a pick?

β€’ Mooney: likely a low end WR2 but ascending

β€’ Kmet: starting to really come into his own as a blocker and (to a lesser extent) a pass catcher, especially since TEs are known to take some time

β€’ Borom/Jenkins: likely the starting tackles moving forward

β€’ Jaylon Johnson: the guy has all the tools to be a CB1

β€’ Roquan: not much needs to be said besides his contract issue

β€’ Tonga: very solid NT depth piece

Honorable mention: Dazz Newsome. I think you have to see what you have here after a year of S/C.

Building blocks for a fortress

Arsenal is already the top home team in the league so far in points won i beleive? There are some other factors loekey going on on the pitch which is so encouraging for me personally.

First of all, at home, Man City is averaging 7 shots on target, 2nd is Liverpool (6.8 on target), Chelsea (6.4 on target), Arsenal 4th 6.3 on target. Therefore, elite company to be in for shots on target at home already, when even taking into consideration this Arteta lineup just getting started. This brings us to another important factor: Goals. At home, Man City have scored 25 goals, Chelsea 22, Liverpool 22, Arsenal 17. Again, encouraging and scary at the same time

Then we move on to another important element of attack: Assists. Arteta's youngsters are right among the leading pack for in assists. Man City have 14 total assists at home and Arsenal are with 12 assists at home for comparison.

I sense a juggernaut is brewing at the Emirates 🏟

Currently we're a 53% possession team at home but I don't know if it's just me would like to see that up a bit to close to 60% at least next season

Thoughts?

Why the Thunder should trade for Ben Simmons even though OKC’s building blocks are both point guards.

Why it’s not far fetched.

Presti isn’t afraid to make surprising moves. Trading Westbrook, trading for PG drafting Poku and Giddey before consensus all show he wants to take high upside players even with high risk.

OKC has too many picks to even keep on their roster in the next 5 years. 36 picks in the next 5 years including 19 firsts. There is zero chance OKC drafts 19 first rounders in 5 years. There’s not enough roster spots or opportunity. It’s not easy to make big trades for super stars and OKC should trade multiple picks for interesting players or moving up in the draft. Picks have more trade value than the players OKC would pick because other GM’s want to pick there own favourite players.

OKC can still tank Even after a Simmons trade OKC will be bad. Besides SGA, Dort and Giddey there’s not many players I’m confident will be on the team in 3 years. OKC is 2nd last in 3 point percentage at 31% an awful fit with Simmons for right now. Simmons will win them a few extra games but that’s not a disaster.

OKC while terrible are too good to out tank Houston or Detroit.

OKC has a net rating of -7.2 (Real bad) but Detroit is -9.3 and Houston is -10.3. They are already 4 games above Houston.

But the gap between them and the next worst team is pretty big. OKC has the 26th worst net rating but 25th (Memphis) is 2 points better at -5.2. In other words OKC could improve significantly and still be in the bottom 5.

Why Simmons then? He made All NBA 3rd team in 2020 and just missed out last year. Player like that aren’t available often. The other players on that team in 2020 were Butler/Westbrook/Gobert/Tatum. He’s a good basketball player with flaws in his game.

For his career he averages 16/8/8. Really good numbers when I think he’s been in a bad fit playing out of position.

Ben Simmons is not a championship point guard (He’s not a point guard at all)

If I’m trading for Simmons I’m imagining him as a small ball 4. My hope is turning him into Draymond Green. He played Center in college and he’s like 6’9. Just because he can dribble doesn’t mean he can create offense (and that’s ok). He was at times useless in philly because he didn’t have a point guard to run the offense while he could set screens or post up (obviously Embiid is in the way).

Is he too toxic? Jason Kidd is the head coach of the Mavs and he beat his wife, Lance Stevenson as a rookie was charged with assaulting his girlfriend. Too toxic to play is being used as a narrative to drive
