A list of puns related to "Commissioner Of Bankruptcy"
This is...quite a group.
This shithole company I worked for less than two months fired me on Sunday. The really crappy part about it is, that I found out from a coworker, not even my boss. We have the ability to release our shifts on HotSchedules, so I released my Sunday morning shift to one of our newer servers. I spoke directly to my boss about the shift being picked up, which he told me he would approve in HotSchedules. So Sunday rolls around, Iβm assuming everything is all good, and then yesterday my coworker texts me asking why I didnβt show up for my shift on Sunday. I was confused, so I went to check HotSchedules to see if there was a message I had missed to find I had been removed from the ENTIRE weeks schedule. I call the restaurant to figure out what was going on. My manager then tells me over the phone that βI had been terminated as of yesterday.β The server who had picked up my shift was fresh out of training and had to pass a final test in order to be on his own. Well, he didnβt pass, and wasnβt allowed to work my shift on Sunday. Nobody fucking told me. Nobody called me on Sunday to ask where I was. Nobody reached out to me to let me know my shift was no longer covered. They just FIRED ME AND DIDNβT TELL ME.
Honestly, I was so beyond done with this place I really didnβt care. This was my second job anyway. This restaurant forces its employees to work 8+ hour shifts with no break, forces us to work doubles (14-16 hour lunch and dinner shifts), and will work us 15-16 days in a row with no day off. About 20 ish servers were complaining about writing to HR specifically about the break issue (which is illegal) because some of them werenβt getting a lunch even on a fourteen hour work day. They have been denied when asking for a day off, and guilted into working double shifts in fear of being retaliated against.
When I got fired, I realized that this was my opportunity. It obviously doesnβt effect me anymore, but Iβm tired of employers thinking they can abuse their staff with no recourse. I contacted my states labor commissioners office and was really surprised that in the same day I filed a complaint, they sent a letter to the GM, the companyβs attorney, and the HR department informing them that they will be conducting an audit of their time clock system. Iβm not sure what happens next, but my former employer will undoubtedly be at fault of not providing breaks when theyβre supposed to. Some of the staff also has hard evidence of time clock slips without a break in an

It's been a crazy ride going from graduating with a design and marketing degree at a small university in Virginia to running an international sports organization. I've spent the past few years growing the World Axe Throwing League from about 10 affiliated axe throwing venues in 2 countries to over 100 companies in 17 countries, as well as connecting our major tournaments with ESPN and TSN. We've had some pretty amazing effect in how much axe throwing has exploded in the past few years, especially in celebrities participating! Just recently Arnold Schwarzenegger threw axes with one of our affiliates in Brazil and having others such as Ludacris, and Hugh Jackman give axe throwing a try has been pretty surreal but probably one of my favourites though was being interviewed by an anime vampire in Japan.
I'm always juggling many projects and currently working on the Throw Down Axe Festival on the weekend of June 29, and working with Ironside Axe Throwing for our U.S. Open tournament on August 25th which will be on ESPN. I also have a pretty big announcement that I'll share later in the day, right here first!
Outside of my current position, I've had many different career paths from video games to major news marketing and travelled to many different countries since being a homeschooled kid. I even lived in Taipei for a while! I'm a fan of most nerdy things, comics, video and board gaming, movies, esports, and hockey to name a few. I was also named Time Magazine's 2006 person of the year and I've been recently described as "Breaktaking" by Keanu Reeves.

I woke up to over 150 replies and that's obviously more than I can realistically be expected to engage with. I want to thank the redditors who actually took the time to come up with a thoughtful response either to the original post or one of my follow-up comments, and there were plenty of you who offered good points that did change my viewpoint, so I'll be awarding deltas when I get time. There were also plenty who did not afford me such a courtesy however; one redditor went so far as to claim that I should be put on medication because I disagree with their opinion. Obviously, worthless comments like this are a dime a dozen on reddit but I wanted to focus on this one because as un-constructive as it is, I don't know if the commenter realized how hilariously dystopian their suggestion was. "You don't buy into the hype for Lion King 2019? Better drug yourself so you fit in with what my vision of a society is." Sorry to hear my opinion about kids movies about talking animals is such an affront to you that I need to change my brain's chemistry to appease you, sire. On this note I also think people have misinterpreted how ardently care about this topic. I don't lay awake at night cursing the Disney company because they made remakes of my childhood movies and replying to my original post with a response that implies that i take it that seriously is founded on false premises. Perhaps I worded my original title too negatively, because I don't care that much. What my overall point was, was that I don't buy into the hype. /edit
The most common arguments I see in support of seeing these remakes produced have been: 1. Makes me nostalgic. 2. Itβs what we love but made with better effects / production value. 3. Itβs like a Shakespeare play, we havenβt seen this version of X story. And hereβs why I think each of those arguments completely fails:
Yeah, thatβs exactly the point. Disney KNOWS it makes you nostalgic and thatβs why theyβve chosen these properties. Not because they want to create greater art than the original, but because they know they have a guaranteed market before they even start pre-production.
This argument, to me, is just all kinds of infuriating. The Transformers films had βbetter effectsβ than the TV show. Doesnβt mean they werenβt steaming piles of garbage. Surprise surprise, one of the most powerful and wealthiest corporations in all history can make a technic

It's not that far fetched, Burnaby and at least one of the North Vancouvers went bankrupt during the last depression, losing the right to self rule.
