A list of puns related to "Coat Related"
My character is a landed knight. Grandson of a fisherman of humble origins who was knighted and received a small piece of land after saving his feudal lord from drowning in a river. My problem is. I don't know which of these Heraldrys seems the best and somewhat historical accurate. My idea was to create a coat of arms that would represent the day my character's grandfather saved his sovereign. I would also appreciate if someone could help me describe the heraldry in correct terms

I ski in the winter and my coat was just too tight over my chest! I'm used to having a hard time finding pants that fit, but now I have to specifically find a coat?
Edit: thank you all for the tips! I did find an alright ski coat today kind of out of the blue, (a large columbia coat that was very oddly proportioned, but hey, I'll take it), but I still desire a nice wear-around coat. Thank you all so much!
As we know, Ottomans didn't use coats of arms. However, they occasionally interacted with armigerous families and situations in Western Europe, where a coat of arms would be needed. What if the Sultans and their Spouses used coats of arms to the European audience? Here are some of my ideas.
Ottomans in general: gules a Moon Decrescent argent a mullet argent(Commonly used in European armorials until the introduction of the formal Ottoman coat of arms)

Nurbanu Sultan: This would be the easiest, since Nurbanu Sultan, born Cecilia Venier-Baffo, was a member of the Venetian patrician house of Venier, thus her coat of arms would be that of the Ottomans and Veniers impaled. Thus it would be
gules a Moon Decrescent argent a mullet argent
impaled with
barry of 6 gules and argent

Hurrem Sultan's coat of arms would be based on the name of her hometown Rohatyn and her most likely surname Lisovska, which means "deer" and "fox" respectively. Thus it would be
gules a Moon Decrescent argent a mullet argent
impaled with
azure in chief a fox or, in base a stag horn or

Kosem's would be difficult, since there isn't even a traditional account about her Greek family's original surname, unlike Nurbanu Sultan(whose Venetian patrician origin could be proven by Venetian sources) or Hurrem Sultan(whose surname has been preserved in Ukrainian tradition, with unknown veracity), but an attributed CoA for her would likely include some elements of her home island Tinos, thus it would be
gules a Moon Decrescent argent a mullet argent
impaled with
azure a ship argent

Safiye Sultan: Again is the question of unknown surname. In general attributing arms to non-armigerous families could be based on cantings, but in case of unknown surname the birth place would be needed to be considered. As she came from Dukagjin Highlands, Albania, her attributed coat of arms here can be
gules a Moon Decrescent argent a mullet argent
impaled with
azure a double-headed eagle sa

Everyone assumes that LaFortier didn't get his death curse off because Anastasia wasn't made into some kind of greasy smear. Assume for a moment that the assumption is wrong, and that he actually did get to throw his death curse before he bled out.
I want to address this topic from a few angles. The questions kind of reference each other so please answer each one separately before looking at the next question. The questions are spoiler tagged so you can reveal them one at a time. I ask that you don't change answers to questions you've answered before moving to the next question.
I think it must have been from the mid 2000s, and I think the title was short, like "Memoire" or perhaps "Agnes" or something?
I think the movie was a bit "indie", or low budget, and I think either the patient or the doctor are actors that became a bit more famous in years after.
Merci d'avance !
Thanks in advance for your help!
I was in my phycology class today and we were having a discussion on what went on with the mind during and after an abortion or miscarage. My friend found an opportunity to make a joke and it had to do with coat hangers and abortions. Apparently it was funny because I was the only one not laughing. So can someone please explain what coat hangers have to do with abortions.
So what I am supposed to do. Get thick with them? Ask for a reduction. To cover cleaning cost? They seemed a bit apologetic when they noticed their fuck up. We will be spending the evening and night cleaning the house as we need to be able to feed the kids a d wash the cat. Probably going to take the two of us 10 hours + to get it right.
I see a lot of posts on this subreddit about a "family's coat of arms" but from what I understood, coats of arms (I guess technically just called 'arms'?) didn't belong to families necessarily but were sometimes just inherited. Am I wrong?
