In the US, 10 patients die each day while on the waiting list for lifesaving vital organs. This issue can be addressed through porcine xenotransplantation, the process of transplanting organs from pigs to humans. However, human antibodies often reject the transplants by attacking the foreign organs. In this report, scientists use CRISPR to genetically modify pigs and inactivate genes which cause the antibody response, achieving the most extensive genome alteration so far on any mammal.

Background and summary
On December 31st 2019, Chinese authorities reported a cluster of atypical pneumonia cases in Wuhan, China. A novel zoonotic virus was suspected and discovered, now named SARS-CoV-2. The syndrome of viral pneumonia caused by this virus -- sometimes associated with abnormal coagulation parameters, anosmia, anorexia, renal failure, and/or gastrointestinal distress -- has been termed COVID-19.
Despite extreme public health interventions at the first epicenter in Hubei province, China, the outbreak has become a global pandemic. Several factors have made for explosive spread of SARS-CoV-2: the human population is immunologically naive, the virus has a long incubation period and can be asymptomatically spread, and is highly infectious, with an rate of transmission significantly higher than epidemic influenza. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has proven deadly as well, with case fatality rate (CFR) estimates ranging between 0.1 to 1% or more. To date, at least 652,000 people have lost their lives in a confirmed case of COVID-19 since December 2019. The true number is suspected to be higher.
The effect of the pandemic on the healthcare system has been extreme, with cases overwhelming normal operations of hospitals during the initial surge in a number of regions, leading to staff exposure, illness, and in some cases, death. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. OVERVIEW
Numerous Doctors have found within the experimental Pfizer Covid-19 vax graphene oxide microparticles that assemble themselves after injection; however, the ingredient list does not make mention of these graphene particles whatsoever. Expanding the Magic Circle to accommodate an additional 1600~ Elves wasn’t going to be easy; it involved redrawing complex markings, injecting mana into esoteric runes, and a lot of other jargon that was flying over Rob’s head. Under normal circumstances, accomplishing the endeavor in a short period of time would’ve been impossible. But while the Deserters didn’t have many mages left to contribute, they did have an ace-in-the-hole in the form of a very smug Archmage. Whenever other spellcasters formed a Mana Link with Malika, they gained a portion of her sky-high Sense Magic Skill, which had prompted the mages to collectively board a hype train with no signs of getting off. Malika especially. She’d be riding this high for weeks.
The whole thing was apparently really amazing and super cool and by god did it make Rob miss Duran. The Elder would have been more than happy to explain how the Magic Circle worked in a verbose, lengthy, and entertaining lecture. Despite speaking with a level of wordiness on par with Rob’s most grueling college professors, Duran’s lessons were always fun. His enthusiasm was as infectious as watching a kid in a candy store. Blight aside, Elder Duran would’ve loved this whole situation in general. Skill breakthroughs? An entire new culture to explore? It all sounded like a scholar’s fantasy come to life.

To truly understand the insidiousness of the Young Living multi-level marketing scheme selling essential oils and other “wellness” products, first we have to dig into the history of its founder, Donald Gary Young. He was born in 1949 into a Mormon household in Idaho. After graduating, in 1967, he briefly worked for the US Forest Service and then moved to Canada with the intention of homesteading in British Columbia. This is when Young had his moment that supposedly converted him to alternative healing and inspired him to found a variety of unsanctioned wellness centers, and eventually Young Living. By Young's account, at the age of 24, he suffered a near-fatal logging accident. He claims to have gotten meningitis, 16 crushed vertebrae, 11 ruptured disks, 19 broken bones, and a herniated spinal cord. There is no documentation of this injury ever having taken place. According to Young's wife, he tried to kill himself three times while recovering from the supposed accident. I have some heavy skepticism about this mainly because Young claimed that he was initially "paralyzed for life" but saved by an essential oil cure. That’s about as believable as prayer healing, but Young’s story about essential oils was a powerful selling and recruiting tool.
Donald Gary Young has a long list of supposed degrees and accolades which have been either debunked or found fraudulent. Throughout his career, Gary Young has asserted that he is a “lifelong student. ”On his personal website, it states that “Between 1982 and 1985, Gary attended Bernadean University and earned a doctorate in naturopathy.” So Gary Young attended university for three years, right? Wrong! Bernadean, is nothing but a mail-order diploma mill that was never approved or accredited to offer any courses or degrees and was eventually exposed as a fraud by the Nevada Supreme Court. As of October 1, 2021 VAERS, has reports on 16,310 deaths and 778,685 adverse reactions, with many being very serious, debilitating and permanent, associated with the covid vaccinations. Those numbers are about 75 times greater than for all other vaccines COMBINED over the last 30 years.
Finally, according to a 2010 study done by the NIH, the adverse events on VAERS are grossly under-reported. Four AM should not exist. Ayen was sure of it.
Samuel had woken him up before the crack of dawn so they could get started on the long drive to Denver. The two commandos met them at the little bus with the Painter Observatory, Planetarium, and Science Center logo on the side and the four climbed in and started without any more than a nod.
Two things quickly became obvious to Ayen. The first was that the plasticy seats and rough suspension meant he was not going to be catching up on his sleep. The second was that Samuel had absolutely awful taste in music. It was loud, screechy, and the human could not keep a tune to save his life as he sang along.
The commandos both looked as bothered by it as Ayen was, but they weren’t going to tell the cute guy that his singing was lousy, so it fell to the only other male to break the news.
“Sam, can you please turn it down? The music and your singing is a bit… distracting.”
“Sorry,” the human replied sheepishly before taking a swig of coffee from a thermos. “Singing helps keep me awake. It’s a long and boring drive.”
“I bet I could keep you awake!” The commando grinned lecherously as she met eyes with Samuel through the rear-view mirror. Ayen could see Samuel clench up, the fear in his eyes.
“I think perhaps hitting on your boss’s boss’s boss’s husband might not be the best idea, long term. You know how humans are.” Ayen hoped he could deflect them away from Sam. He didn’t want his friend to suffer and he definitely didn’t want him to crash the bus on the winding mountain roads. His comment at least shut them up.
“What about you, then?” The other commando asked. Ayen could handle this. A little flirting would protect Sam.
“You two couldn’t handle me.”
“Oh really?” The commando unzipped her vest a little, showing off her generous cleavage. “Compared to Lieutenant Marin, I think you might be surprised.”

... keep reading on reddit ➡Hi everyone, my name is Alex, I’m 35 and have been really healthy for many years (I’m a yoga teacher, vegan and before all this I hadn’t been sick in years). I got Covid 6 weeks ago, it was severe, and when it was finally getting better I suddenly had trouble breathing and had to go to the hospital. They found bilateral PEs (one in each lung) and I was prescribed eliquis, and I have been on it for two weeks. I’ve been worried because I’m due to get my period sometime next week.
I don’t have any children and my partner and (before all this) I were planning to have a baby next year. Since PEs are such a big problem during pregnancy because of estrogen spikes, I’m worried that it will be really dangerous and contraindicated. I guess we’ll probably have to wait, I’m just at that age where it’s been feeling like it’s gotta be now or never. I’m also worried about my periods in general. Reading about women who have to have hysterectomies and stuff like that.
I’m going to see a naturopathic doctor and get some non-western medical advice. Have any of you done this? (Update note: I am NOT planning to try to get off Eliquis and take natural blood thinners. That would be crazy. I just want a naturopath to know my situation and help me down the road with getting off the med and eventually, hopefully, have a safe pregnancy. No worries everyone.)
I’ve been researching probably more than I should, but I really want to know my situation.
I have a couple questions, maybe some of you might have feedback.
Have any of you had Covid related blood clots? Do you know if there is any information on how long the hypercoagulation state lasts?
I’ve read that up to half of severe cases may involve some sort of abnormal clotting— some scientists even suggest that the abnormal clotting (related to the immune system putting out a certain type of antibody) may be the cause of some Covid cases becoming severe. Like, hyper coagulation IS the problem, and it’s why some people have such a hard time. It’s just a theory.
Another question— have any of you had a baby in the years after a clotting episode? I’m happy that the Covid clotting seems to not be a lifelong issue but I’m scared that it might make me more prone to clotting in the future.
Finally… any words of wisdom for my upcoming period? Trying not to be terrified. The doctor (at the hospital) who prescribed me barely even mentioned it.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

I know people are frustrated by having to wear masks again indoors. We all want things to go back to "normal" - no masks, able to do things without needing negative tests and vaccinations. Believe me, I want that too. For many people it feels like it should be normal, because we have been vaccinated.
But as a health care provider (NP in the UCSF system) in a unit that isn't even heavily impacted directly by covid, I beg of you, please don't fight on this.
The mRNA vaccines had efficacy in preventing transmission was in the 90s% range against the initial SARS-COV2 virus (aka covid) With the delta variant, the efficacy in preventing transmission has dropped to the 70s%. Hopefully after boosters, that will go up again, but we don't know for sure. (and boosters are hopefully going to be approved in the next 2 weeks). But it might not. Lamba and Mu variants have been found in CA, and Mu especially is able to evade our immune system, making vaccination less effective in preventing transmission.
I hear you say "But sapphireminds, since I am vaccinated, I'll only have a mild case, so let's just move on already". And while that is true, I need to beg you to think about the health care workers (HCW). Every time we are exposed or get covid (whether it is a mild case or not) we have to call out of work, because we cannot be spreading covid to our patients.
HCW are exhausted, physically, mentally and emotionally. We have been giving 1000% since covid showed up, and we are really struggling now to keep going. All the hospitals around here are in staffing crises, because nurses need to call out for exposure or illness (even mild) and every time a HCW calls off, everyone else has to pick up the slack.
We've been working extra shifts and hours for almost two years now, and we're just tired. We're getting calls at home regularly begging us to come in and help the unit. And we thought this would all be done by now too (and want it to be done).
We can't keep this up forever. We need your help. The vaccine is unfortunately imperfect - especially with new variants - so we have to pair it with other strategies in order to keep transmission rates down. I'm not advocating a lockdown or anything, because that is not the right answer now. But wearing masks indoors really is part of the solution.

Just wanted to give a quick opinion. This game is no Vampire the Masquarade, but it's charming in it's own way. So glad there is another unique RPG with Vampires available.
All the different mechanics in the world with people getting sick, respawn and combat system were interesting to master. A lot of things could be improved, but it was certainly a unique experience.
Just found stuns and biting a bit tideous and found my love for the lower section of Shadow Mist with Coagulation. I wish, I had specced earlier into those talents. Feels almost like my Tremere in Vampire the Masquarade, just endless Bloodsupply to murder everyone. And cheesy kill some people, while I'm above them.
Well tomorrow it's time to go crazy in London, I really itch to have an overpowered Vampire who murders everyone. Need all the achievments! London will burn!
I was found to have endocrine dysfunction. I know those type of labs are rarely done at a PCP, so I wonder how many people with long Covid have endocrine dysfunction and don't know it, since it's not commonly assessed, even in ER's. It usually takes seeing an endocrinologist because testing is complex, and I've had many doctors say they don't know about testing for those conditions.
I'm wondering how many people with long Covid have endocrine testing done and the findings if they do? It was early in the pandemic, so I don't have a positive test, so I'm not recognized as a long Covid patient at my doctors.
I was hyperthyroid for awhile, which was missed in my standard TSH labs at my PCP and ER. It took an endocrinologist running the full panel to find it. I had high aldosterone and cortisol. I also had high IGF-1 on one lab, then it normalized.
The big time endocrine specialist is perplexed by me, because my labs are normalizing (they should not if I have those diseases). I think it was caused by Covid, but without a positive test, I can't prove it.

Background and summary
On December 31st 2019, Chinese authorities reported a cluster of atypical pneumonia cases in Wuhan, China. A novel zoonotic virus was suspected and discovered, now named SARS-CoV-2. The syndrome of viral pneumonia caused by this virus -- sometimes associated with abnormal coagulation parameters, anosmia, anorexia, renal failure, and/or gastrointestinal distress -- has been termed COVID-19.
Despite extreme public health interventions at the first epicenter in Hubei province, China, the outbreak has become a global pandemic. Several factors have made for explosive spread of SARS-CoV-2: the human population is immunologically naive, the virus has a long incubation period and can be asymptomatically spread, and is highly infectious, with an rate of transmission significantly higher than epidemic influenza. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has proven deadly as well, with case fatality rate (CFR) estimates ranging between 0.1 to 1% or more. To date, at least 652,000 people have lost their lives in a confirmed case of COVID-19 since December 2019. The true number is suspected to be higher.
