A list of puns related to "Chronic Bronchitis"
My Chin has been coughing for a month and usually sounds like he hacks something up. He's eating and drinking fine. His normal vet is booked out 2 months and I took him to someone new and they said he had Chronic bronchitis. They took X-ray$ of him and said everything looks fine and he just has Chronic bronchitis which is slow and annoying for small dogs. They gave him antiobiotics and meds for the cough but it's gotten worse since he's been on the medicine. I'm taking him back to the vet tomorrow but has anyone else w/ a Chin or smaller breed dog dealt with this?
Hey all,
Former Frequent cannabis smoker (1-2 joints a day, I did go ham for a course of a year of smoking in freshman year college and the same pretty much up until 7 months ago) So about 7 months ago I had a case of what I think was acute bronchitis. It went away over the course of 1-2 months however I ended up retaining a frothy white thin mucus at the back of my throat up until now and frequently more and more bloody sputum episodes. However I do not feel any form of dyspnea, I have literally no cough at all (I can not even cough mucus even if I tried SUPER hard) and can only get it out if I clear my throat. I had quit smoking marijuana about 1 month ago and it feels that the mucus has gotten better, but the bloody sputum problem has not (honestly its progressed to 1 incident per day at least and it's starting to frighten me). I went to a GP and got an X-Ray done and there was nothing abnormal found. I had read that this could be a case of smoker's cough (bloody sputum is apparently a symptom of smoker's cough according to several sources that were reviewed by actual doctors, including medical news today). I had smoked since maybe I was 16 (although back then it was once a week and with a childhood friend). Is this chronic bronchitis or something more akin to some sort of idiotic handling my part of LPR (constantly throat clearing at the sense of the sensation and causing blood)? I literally get mucus in my throat as well while I am eating as well which is strange. I am planning on ofc going to a pulmonologist soon.
Hi everyone,
My cat (Kina, 7 yo) seems to have chronic bronchitis.
I already went to a few vets, didn't already try the vet hospital (which seems to be a the last resource, and it's very expensive for me), and they all recommended different treatments but none of them solved the problem neither helped my cat breath a bit easier. One of the vets gave me Cortisona pills (it didn't change anything, and the vet didn't seem to be trying to help my cat), the other sold me 2 asthma pumps (blue and orange) and some Cortisona. In the beginning the pumps helped my cat breath better but then it stopped working.
Sometimes she has something like asthma attacks.
I would like to know if any of you guys has a cat with the same disease and could find any solution, by solution I mean anything that can help my cat breath easier.
Thanks for the help and enjoy your weekend with your cats ^-^/
Sorry for the English, not my main language.

Hi,
Why in chronic bronchitis dyspnea is mild initially?
Hi All,
I'm new here, but could use some support. Apologies in advance for the lengthy post.
My wife of 12 years has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia since I've known her. I'm 32 and she's 36. She was in a car accident several years ago which made her pain worse, but we were able to manage it after a while. In October/November of 2019 she got very sick, and was eventually hospitalized with pneumonia a couple times over the next few months. Since then, her health has been considerably worse. She coughs stuff up throughout the day, has trouble breathing, has massive allergic reactions to any chemical, smoke, bad air quality, the wrong kind of soap, etc. She also has severe back pain constantly, and there are times when her arms and/or legs will lock up, give out, or stop working entirely. All of these issues have made it extremely difficult to sleep or get through a day.
She has also developed severe anxiety and has a panic attack at least once a week. This started after the car accident, but has gotten seriously worse the last couple years. Naturally, the pandemic hasn't helped as we are isolated from almost everyone we know. We are being more cautious than all family members, some of whom aren't even vaccinated or even wearing masks. We were able to see my brother, his wife, and our niece, but they have been going to church with a lot of unmasked, unvaccinated people and my niece is too young to be vaccinated, so we feel seeing them at this point is too much of a risk.
Her physical health is hard to deal with, and I have to watch her body betray her every day. She has medication, but it seems to barely make a dent. We still struggle every day.
Her mental health is even more difficult to manage. I am constantly trying to quell her fears, no matter how irrational they may be at times. Her panic attacks consist of not being able to breathe, sounds like she's chocking or her throat is closing and she's gasping for air, screaming at me to help her, saying she's dying or that she wants to die to get it over with, blaming me for causing her pain, saying that I'm making it worse when I try to help her, telling me to do something, then screaming at me when I do it "wrong". These attacks are often triggered by severe pain, and sometimes an anxiety-inducing event such as thinking about how isolated we are, or even just a glass breaking in the sink. She always apologizes after the attack is done, but to be honest, that doesn't do anything to make it better. Th

Hi all,
Thank you for reading this. Question is about COPD:
If both chronic bronchitis and emphysema lead to expiratory wheezing (so collapse of narrowed/weekend airways due to inability to "stand" increased intrathoracic pressure) and air trapping, why is emphysema classically associated with barrel-shaped chest and bronchitis is not? Is it that the extent of air trapping is greater in emphysema?
Hi Everybody,
We are in a bit of a pickle here when it comes to finding a working treatment, and our local vets have not been a tremendous help, so I wanted to reach out for some information outside of them in order to get a clearer picture of treatment options and good recommendations.
Our 14 yr. old male border collie was taken into the vet for a bad cough that had gotten progressively worse over about a month. They x-ray'd his chest, took blood, and diagnosed him with chronic bronchitis. They found no tumors or anything of the sort, and his blood was normal besides slightly elevated white blood cells. We were given cough medicine, prednisone steroid for chest inflammation, and the antibiotic cephalexin. Within 72 hours of taking the prescribed doses he had a full body seizure and had to be taken immediately to the vet. He has no history of seizures before. The vets told us to stay on the medicine, and monitor him. We did and the seizures continued. After a week of this continuing and numerous vet visits where they prescribed anti-seizure medicine, I made the decision to stop giving him the original steroid, cough, and antibiotic medicine and the seizures stopped. -- The vets have told us that they don't know what caused the seizures, but now our dog is on anti-seizure medicine and coughing from bronchitis. With his vet we have put him back on the antibiotic but it is not relieving any of the coughing and hacking. I was told that the steroid could have caused him to have a bad reaction but they do not know. Since the steroid is the anti-inflammation component of the treatment, I know he needs that in order to reduce the swelling of the lungs and help him breathe and clear mucus better, but just like his vet, we are a bit concerned to put him back on a steroid after he had these crazy episodes when on those medicines.
Would anybody know what could have caused this or what medications/treatments would help clear the inflammation of a chronic bronchitis, maybe without a steroid? I was thinking there might be an asthma medicine that might help maybe? I have heard he could have cushings disease, and the steroid might have caused an adrenal hormonal problem which could have triggered seizures. We have been to numerous vets, and we don't seem to be finding any solutions or treatments so any help is much appreciated. Thank you all in advance.
My grandfather is 71, he has chronic bronchitis. He was a chain smoker back in the day. He is ~okay. He had covid a year ago and recovered without a hiccup. But he cannot walk stairs before his lungs gasping for air. I was wondering if there's a treatment where his lungs can be cleaned. Is there a treatment as such? Thank you in advance
Does anyone have cats with asthma? My 11 month old cat has only been diagnosed with acute bronchitis at the moment, but Iβm worried about traveling in the coming months once heβs off his oral steroid. (I live in NC but have been wanting to visiting my family and friends from back home in NJ) I was wondering what anyone does with their asthmatic cats when they travel.
For context we donβt really have any friends or family in the area. My partnerβs parents live 10 minutes away and theyβve offered to check in on him. Iβm just terrified of his coughing returning while weβre away and it progressing to an asthma attack.
Hi guys I have had chronic bronchitis for 10+ years. I stopped smoking and changed my diet and lifestyle. Now I'm free of it since 2 years. I still have mucus in my throat and sometimes get anxiety with swallowing. Is NAC worth a try? Do you have experience with it? What's the dosage?
hello,
my story is too long to go into but i was diagnosed with probably chronic bronchitis, now i have to take a seretide inhaler before bed otherwise i wake up unable to breathe.
it's been 18 months since the incident and i was diagnosed in feb this year.
i want to try some peptides to see if i can cure it for good, would like to hear from anyone who already tried. thanks
I was on my last day of meds when I got a dry herb vape to help me sleep. It brought the everything back.
Iβm going to get a refill for the meds and restart. How long should I wait to smoke again?
I quit vaping cannabis in June (over 6 months ago) because I felt I couldnβt take a satisfying breath (and had a tight chest), which eventually subsided after a couple months. I was also bringing up phlegm, but not coughing. I figured this was part of the healing process and I was essentially fine. Fast forward to November, and that same feeling of air hunger, tight chest, and chest congestion came back. This time I had a slight tickle in my throat, and usually force myself to cough up some phlegm so I can breathe better. I had a chest X-ray and PFT in October which came back normal. Seeing the doctor again this week, but I have a question for the group: has anyone been diagnosed with chronic bronchitis but without a persistent cough that lasts 3 months for 2 years in a row? It seems like a fairly ...inexact way to diagnose a disease. How can anyone distinguish between chronic bronchitis and the side effects of quitting smoking?
What is the right way to think about why there is increase in PaCo2 and decrease in PaO2 in chronic bronchitis? Is it as simple as that there is more mucus in the lung, so less oxygen getting to tissues and more PaCo2 not getting out of tissues?
I'm trying to up my disability and add my chronic bronchitis. I have a test scheduled for next week and I know they're going to conduct a pulmonary functions test to check my lung capacity (how forcefully i can exhale). The issue is I'm healthy right now and I'm in good shape so my lungs are fine. When I'm sick, which happens 2-3 a year, my lung capacity is complete shit. What should I do?
I know a lot of people fake disability stuff, and there's no judgement here, but full disclosure, this is an HONEST disability application, I developed chronic bronchitis in the Marines, probably from the gas chamber, and i get horribly sick every year since. That being said, since I'm inbetween coughing bouts at the moment, should I fake the test to give an accurate reading of what my lung capacity is when I'm sick?
Does Chronic Bronchitis automatically mean COPD? I know COPD consists of two conditions - Chronic Bronchitis and Emphysema. If you have Chronic Bronchitis alone, do you already have COPD? Does Chronic Bronchitis always lead to Emphysema?
