A list of puns related to "Chihuahua, Chihuahua"
I read this comparison somewhere and it really helped me... Sometimes, we may be hard on ourselves because we will never have the body type of (insert celeb, model etc. etc. here). But you are born with a body type, just like dogs are born a certain breed. You would never tell a chihuahua that s/he needs to look like a german shepherd to be beautiful or that a bulldog isn't gorgeous because s/he isn't a tall, skinny afghan. That would be ridiculous, so don't be ridiculous (i.e. hard) on yourself for not being a particular "breed."
This "it's how you train / raise them" shit is pretty much the main sticking point for fence sitters and nutters alike and the largest obstacle to our message imo. It's such a cop out and it blows my mind how the layman seemingly thoughtlessly accepts it as truth. Not only that, but it's nearly impossible to disprove it as well. The only thing you can do is show them puppies exhibiting their genetic behavior, the pit puppies snarling, fighting and gripping onto one another with their teeth... but I'm sure they're "just playing!". I'm actually very curious to see how someone not in this circle, not really aware of the dangers of pits would react to that video.
People will talk all this shit about chihuahuas, poodles, rottweilers, german shepherd dogs, dobermans, but the moment you even make the implication that pitbulls (and their bully kin), which so happen to DOMINATE dog attack fatality statistics, are the real threat, you're heartless and a menace to society. This is literally propaganda, nothing less, and it infuriates me to see people (ordinary and inexperienced, and never capable of keeping their beast under control, might I add) thinking they can train out a killer instinct. Imagine even owning a stupid beast that could probably kill you or mortally wound you if it so much as felt like it, and even worse, has that whim built into its fucking genetic code.
If a chihuahua had that same instinct, they can't even hurt you if they tried, just make sure the bites don't get infected. Chihuahuas don't tear people and pets up like chew toys like a Pit can, and often does. The fact that this even has to be said is saddening. About the other dangerous breeds (which nutters and fence-sitters will accept as being dangerous..? For some reason? Or at minimum requiring a capable and experienced owner, which they usually won't say for pits), all of those combined make up a fraction of the Pit kill count. All the while most of them have a stronger bite force than a Pit, so take that pitiful "they kill people because they're strong" argument and toss it out the window, because any of those infamous breeds can (and, unfortunately, occasionally do) kill a toddler if it was inclined to.
Nutters live in their own world. But we can't do anything about that. We need those fence-sitters, the ones who have been indoctrinated into the nutter line of thinking that it's the owner's fault for a bad pitbull and are otherwise rational human beings to understan
... keep reading on reddit β‘This Saturday my husband and I made the heart wrenching decision to allow our Chihuahua go. She was a stray I found running down the railroad tracks 8 1/2 years ago. I tried to find her owner without luck. She was a great dog, had some urinary incontinence when she slept so we had a bunch of little dog diapers.
The decision broke my heart but she had kidney disease, some type of mass in her stomach, she was loosing her vision and hearing, and she had stopped eating. I was feeding her baby food with a syringe for a few days hoping to trigger her appetite.
She is the second pet I've had to make this choice for since I've been vegan.
I know we did everything we could for her, but I'm struggling with the feeling that I ended her life by signing the euthanasia form. I would never want any living thing to suffer, humans included. I know this is a hot button topic with some, and I can understand on a very surface level, but I couldn't bring her home to waste away, and only have a few days left.
I'm looking for meaningful discussion, not a debate or attacks.
You are able to effortlessly lift chihuahuas (alive) without touching them
