A list of puns related to "Chavacano Language"
Junio 23rd. nacimento de lenguaje chavacano
No offense but I feel like 300+ years of colonization should have resulted in more Chavacano speakers. I am not Filipino (nor am i well versed in Filipino History) so when I compare the Philippines to say Haiti(which I have more knowledge of), I am puzzled as to why Haiti has a creole as its most spoken language.
Why are Tagalog and Visaya more widely spoken?
because every time I look at TV Patrol Chavacano on youtube, the people that they interview either dont speak Chavacano or they try to speak Chavacano but they seem like they're struggling through it. Do people actually speak the language in their homes, or is it just a TV language for shits and giggles.

Language-family maps, like the one posted here, generally show Austronesian languages blanketing the entire Philippine archipelago. But such a depiction is not accurate, as the mother tongue of the majority of the inhabitants of the tip of the Zamboanga Peninsula on the island of Mindanao is definitely not Austronesian. Perhaps as many as 700,000 people here speak Chavacano (alternatively, ZamboangueΓ±o or Chabacano de Zamboanga), a Spanish-based creole language that has been influenced by a number of Philippine languages.* ZamboangueΓ±o speakers are, moreover, scattered in minority communities across much of the southwestern Philippines and even into northeastern Borneo (in the Malaysian state of Sabah).

'
Other Chavacano dialects are found elsewhere in the Philippines, counting several hundred thousand speakers among them. The most important of these is CaviteΓ±o (or Chabacano de Cavite), found in the city of Cavite on Manila Bay, near the capital of the Philippines. Before World War II, Cavacano also dominated an important neighborhood in Manila itself, but this dialect, ErmiteΓ±o (named after the Ermita district), is apparently extinct.

Chavacano is interesting from both linguistic and historical-geographical perspectives. To begin with, it is widely considered to be one of the worldβs oldest creole tongues, with a history dating back some 400 years. It is clearly based on Spanish, which is quite a rarity; although many creole language are Portuguese-based and many have been influenced by Spanish, the only other Spanish-based creole tongue is Palenquero, spoken by only a few thousand persons in a small area of Colombia. (See John McWhorterβs The Missing Spanish Creoles for an extended exploration of this topic.) The presence of words borrowed from Nahuatl indicate that Chavacano derives more from Mexican Spanish than from pure Castilian. Different dialects of the language show distinctive borrowing patterns from various Philippine languages. Other languages have contributed vocabulary elements as well. **In the Chavacano dialects of southeastern

I was shocked that a lot of Filipinos liked his post because it was wrong to me. I made an account just so I can reply to it and give my two cents in but the post as of today no longer allow new replies. So I thought I'd just make my own post. I still privately messaged that non-Filipino person and gave my reply to him. I would like to share it here:
"There's no reason to Hispanicized the Philippines again because Hispanicization in the Philippines has never left except for the Spanish language. Here's my personal top 12 list:
Christianity is the most prevalent religious belief and this belief is carried by up to 93% of our population. It's extremely normal to step inside a Filipino household and see a Jesus Christ altar or a symbol of Christianity somewhere in the living room or dining area.
The biggest annual event in our country is Christmas and it's celebrated from September to December and in some provinces, it's even up to January.
We have so many Fiestas that we celebrate uniquely in each province and these Fiestas are mostly celebrated with a Santo/Saint or an image of Jesus Christ or Mother Mary.
The most prevalent surnames in the Philippines are Spanish like Garcia and Reyes. Our naming system is solely based on the Spanish style in which we carry our mother's surname as our middle name and our father's surname as our last. Then we usually have a first name and a second name so most Filipinos have four names in total. Our Indigenous ancestors didn't even use surnames before. True story. Go look it up and research it yourself.
Taxes were even introduced to us by the Spanish colonizers because our Indigenous ancestors didn't believe in that type of government style.
The presence of homophobia and patriarchy in the Philippine society right now is from the Spanish culture too because our Indigenous ancestors

Unlike Latin America, Spanish wasn't the language of the majority in the Philippines, but a sizeable portion of the population spoke Spanish as a 1st or 2nd language Pre-WW2, mostly the elites and educated middle class.
Most of them spoke the Filipino variation of Spanish "EspaΓ±ol Filipino" o "Castellano Filipino". Some spoke with a more "neutral" accent if they studied and lived in Spain.
EspaΓ±ol Filipino has influences from European and Mexican Spanish. The EspaΓ±ol Filipino accent is heavily influenced by the Tagalog and Bisaya languages.
EspaΓ±ol Filipino also makes use of Vosotros.
"Tagalismos/Tagalisms" were also incorporated like in this song "La Dalaga Filipina" - Dalaga is Tagalog for young lady.

It also retained the Old Spanish "elye" instead of yeΓsmo.

Climate: The Philippines has a tropical maritime climate that is usually hot and humid. There are three seasons: a hot dry season or summer from March to May; a rainy season from June to November; and a cool dry season from December to February. The southwest monsoon lasts from May to October, and the northeast monsoon from November to April. Temperatures usually range from 21Β Β°C (70Β Β°F) to 32Β Β°C (90Β Β°F). The coolest month is January; the warmest is May.
The average yearly temperature is around 26.6Β Β°C (79.9Β Β°F). In considering temperature, location in terms of latitude and longitude is not a significant factor, and temperatures at sea level tend to be in the same range. Altitude usually has more of an impact. The average annual temperature of Baguio at an elevation of 1,500 meters (4,900Β ft) above sea level is 18.3Β Β°C (64.9Β Β°F), making it a popular destination during hot summers. Annual rainfall measures as much as 5,000 millimeters (200Β in) in the mountainous east coast section but less than 1,000 millimeters (39Β in) in some of the sheltered valleys.

I am curious how this dialect is spoken, written, and used. I first found it when I was scrolling and surfing around Wikipedia's articles about the Spanish language.
I thought that it would be fun and be beneficial for me to learn the language, but I found that the Spanish spoken in Spain and by most heroes of the Philippines, especially Jose Rizal, are quite different from one another.
I do hope someone fluent enough in this dialect can help me and provide some resources on how they learned it.

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
