In honor of National Dogs in Politics Day, here's a story about how naming rescue dogs after celebrities — be it Oprah or Obama — can help them get adopted faster.
Hopefully this is the correct subreddit for this post, if not please redirect me.
Me and my friends play this game where we write down a celebrity or person's name on a piece of card and pass the card to the left, they then place the card on their forehead and ask yes or no questions until they guess their celebrity/person. We call this game "Genghis Khan" because of a Churchill advert from a few years ago when the Churchill dog plays this game with a celebrity and right at the end of the ad guesses the name on his piece of card and says "Genghis Khan" in his stupid voice.
If anyone one knows the name of the celebrity or could find the advert for me i would then be able to prove to everyone that i'm not making it up.... unless no one here remembers because then i will definitely sound crazy.
UPDATE; After much consideration I settled for the name PipBoy, brought the good boy home yesterday and he's already so smart. I posted a picture onto my account/profile as the rules said I can't post pictures here, so if you'd like to see the Husky/Great Pyrenees pup you should be able to see him there.
EDIT; Thank you everyone for the suggestions! I wasn't expecting this blow up like it has but I have plenty of names that I really liked and in a weeks time (MON or TUE) I'll post a picture of him and what name I chose with the first person I remember that suggested it. Thank you again everyone I wasn't expecting so many great suggestions EDIT2; I've settled on a name! I'll post a picture of him and his name after he comes home on the 2nd
So I'm about to get a pupper and as much as I love the classic DOG MEAT, my previous dog was named that and I find it would be disrespectful to rename my current dog the same. I haven't welcomed him home yet but He is a boy husky/pyrenees mostly white with some blonde, a blue and brown eye. He's gonna be very fluffy and pretty big. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!

I just picked up this guy yesterday from a local shelter as a companion for us as well as our other dog, Winston.
I want his name to match Winston's in a sense of old-timey or distinguished-ness, nothing like "Fluffy" or "Snowball".
My fiancé wants a name that's not super white/American/Western European.
I'm a white American and he is Indian (Bengali). I'm an ecologist and he's a physicist, so we like scientist names.
Some names we like but aren't sold on include: Pascal, Atlas, and Laika.
Please help! We've looked at the pet name list but most of those European centric.
Update: decided to stick with the name the shelter gave him...Pippin! (Yes it's European BUT it's LotR related so it's okay! 😂🤦🏻♀️)

I have a female puppy dog on the way. German Shepard and Great Pyrenees mix and I love Better Call Saul so much that I want to name my dog after it! But I can’t think of any dog names from this show because I need a girl-ish name. Any dog name ideas?
For example in Estonia names like "Reku" and "Muki" are dog names.
