My mom saved for me for college and when I got a full ride I was able to use that money to start my retirement accounts. With how little I was making the first four years in Los Angeles I definitely wouldnβt have been able to save this much on my own.

My mom retired a few months ago and decided to transfer to me about $13,000 she had in an old childhood savings account of mine. HYSA2 is where I put $10,000 of that money and will be closing my other HYSA because the interest rate dropped due to the pandemic. It hasnβt gone back up so while I like the interface of the app, itβs not worth it. Also because of this Iβm at a comfortable place in my emergency savings that I want to start really investing and exploring other higher interest options. With the new promotion I plan on using some of that extra money to do that.

Joint HYSA: $13,300 ** This is a shared account between my partner/boyfriend (R) and I. This is an emergency fund for the house we lease and our dog. All other bills are split and we do not combine finances other than this one account. I donβt personally count it as part of my net worth but wanted to note it here.
Checking account balance: 525 I never keep more than 500 in this account unless Iβm paying something off.
Credit card debt: I currently have a little under 1400 dollars charged across 3 credit cards. I donβt use my debit card at all and charge everything. I pay off my cards in full every month and have never carried a balance. My last big purchase was Beetlejuice on Broadway tickets for a friend and I. Which reminds me I need to get her to Venmo me the cost of her ticket.
Student Loans: I was very lucky to have a full ride and have zero student loan debt.

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
