Hey, so I'm new to rping. I played a few games of dnd here and there, and a couple other variations of it. I wanted to know how many people would be interested in a discord server for rping. It wouldn't be anything fancy, some in-depth but not too specific characters, and different channels to chat in rather than having sessions. If enough people were interested, I'll make it and you can help with worldbuilding and giving ideas for the different channels to include if you want to. Come on, 13 hours. That's how long it took to finish all the games. Players were tired, casters were tired, Joltz was tired, audience was bored. Sure there were some technical issues that extended the whole process by an hour give or take. But still, a live event shouldn't take so damn long.
I know Battlerite for its intensive combat and quick matches. So why do we have BO5 matches out of BO9 rounds per match for group matches? Is this a MOBA or what?
Imho, either group matches need to be split to 2 day event or we need shorter matches. Having everything in one day is just insane.
Games usually kick off at around 5am and end around 11am.
Would love to do this in isla vista instead of going to a pub downtown to go watch the games.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

It's funny to see how everyone has just jumped out of the "development" wagon and all anyone cares is whether people from their caste are in power or not. Journalists have done nothing but fuel this with their own ulterior motives.
Asim Ali in his The Hindu piece ("Re-establishing ownership of the Mandal space") gives life lessons to "ailing" Mandal parties on how they can defeat the Hindutva movement. Is this how we're supposed to grow our socio-economic status and provide better resources to the poor?
Hindutva based parties keep talking about how all the Hindus are in "danger" and the Mandal parties keep attacking them with their backward class card. Why is no one talking about the urgent need to fix the education system (the backbone of India's development)? Why is no one talking about the failing and ailing MSMEs in the country? Why is lifting the most disadvantaged group (BPLs) not a priority anymore? All anyone can think about is which caste/religion holds more power in which region.
It's high time we come out (easier said than done) of the caste based election system if we want true altruist people to take the lead and drive our country toward prosperity and happiness.
Most of the politicians in our country are uneducated hardened criminals with multiple murder, rape, corruption charges. How do you expect them to take progressive and just decisions on behalf of you?
We should have some kind of report card or a grading system for each constituency. People should be made aware of the successes and failures of their candidates to help them make informed decisions. The grass root approach is the only thing that can help us eradicate this caste cancer from our elections only then we'll be able to focus on the actual problems and try solving them.
Politicians, be it Modi-Shah or Akhilesh or Rahul, are doing what Britishers did to us 200 years ago, divide the hell out of people, instigate hate between groups, and use this fear to rule them. The sad part about all this is that journalists, who are supposed to keep a check on them, have become their ally. We need to wake up to the fact that no one, none of the politicians really care about religion and caste, they just use it to rile up people and spread fear among people.
TL DR - Politics in India is truly absolutely fucked and I don't see it getting any better.
