A list of puns related to "Bits Goa"
What to choose, keeping in regard the placement opportunities. Also, I have heard that eni students aren't allowed to give government engineering exams such as IES. Is this true?
I have heard that grading in goa phoenix is tougher and even getting cs electives is difficult there. So should i prefer hyd or goa if i want to go for it placement?
Ppl pls help!!!!!
Hi everyone,
I got admission in BITS GOA chemical in the last iteration, but am currently 2 months into studying CSE with Data Science at VIT VELLORE. I am super confused as to what to do. If I am to be honest, I am not sure what my interests are. I like coding etc but I don't think its my passion if u understand what i mean. I don't know much about the scope of Chemical in India. Apart from the amazing tag of being a Bitsian, the only reason I am inclining towards BITS is the far lower number of students. VIT Vellore has 3k students ONLY in CSE core(fresher), while I think BITS GOA has a total of 3k students. I point this out as I am not a massive fan of crowds. There is the risk of joining college about 2 months late, missing out on a lot of the syllabus and the whole friend making process (sry for the cringe lol).
I am well-adjusted in VIT Vellore ,I think. Starting to make decent friends and the teachers and students seem alright. I was blown away by the quality of students in my class itself, some of them have such extensive experience in coding and are extremely knowledgeable. Many of them have scored marks in JEE and Bits much higher than mine but seem perfectly content in VIT Vellore. As I said, I am not fully sure if my interests are in coding or cs related fields, and the tag of BITS is a bit of a dream of mine. But not sure if Chemical is a safe branch for me, as I think I am more likely to get to know my interests doing CS.
I have to make a decision by tomorrow, so pls all suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you
(educational_info: JEE Main rank - 2498, JEE Adv dank - 2072, BITSAT Score - 370) What should be the descending order of preference? I had done Java in my 9th and 10th class. Liked it. Didn't like the coursework of ChemE as much as CS. I'll go towards non core side if I join IIT B ChemE Preferences are overall (not only acads and placement) I was thinking about taking a drop too coz I spoilt my paper 1 math section coz of time management (left 10 questions which I would've done correctly as I didn't have time)
it's already quite late joining as a dualite so would really appreciate your help
if anyone has the links please share
My Qualifications (my_qualifications):
BITS:
IIT:
Observations:
LNMIIT CSE vs BITS Goa MSc Economics vs IIIT Gwalior CSE
My_qualifications:
98.5%ile MAINS AIR 14k GEN, OBC rank 3k
BITSAT 28X/300
Adv very high rank for CS so not filled any IIT in JoSAA.
I have got a seat in LNMIIT CSE and IIIT Gwalior CSe and I'll also most probably get BITS Goa MSc Eco in the next round.
I am only interested in CSE nothing else. My factors of decision are placements, college life and kinda fees. Ik that LNMIIT has a lot of fees but BITS has a very good clg life and idk much abt IIIT GWALIOR. Hoping that it will upgrade to NIT Kurukshetra IT or above in JoSAA.
Any comments are appreciated.
I used to be in BITS Hyd and got BITS Goa in the last iteration, back there we used CMS for accessing lecture links and recordings, is this quanta bits goa thing the same as CMS????? I cannot find classroom links here, some teachers have mailed it to me but some haven't and I have missed my first class, please send help ASAP.
I also heard there was a discord server for first year students? Me get link please? Or DM me if you don't have discord??
1.What are the non chemical opportunities in bits goa lik finance it startup(particularly it)
2.Do it or finance companies allow chemical stream students to appear?
3.Do clubs or seniors help in it preperation?
(Currently in vit ece)
There was a thread about this topic on this sub but I couldn't find it, I'd be glad if you link it in the comments, or just tell me the names, thanks!
Okay, so I was alloted hyd cse in the initial rounds of counseling and definitely will slide up to goa since I'm missing by 3-4 marks
I was initially inclined towards goa due to ERC clubs, coding culture and so my order of preference was P>G>H But realized hyd has ARC(eqv to ERC) and median package of hyd > goa
But the problem is i realized average cgpa for goa cs is 8.3-8.4 and this will have serious impact on my masters profile so wanted to know if I freeze or not
The problem with freezing is if the cutoff falls by atleast 12 compared to last years, I'll get pilani cs and now idk what to do, any advice seniors
IITs shayad hi milengi, aur mains pe koi NIT nahi milegi, to BITS hi mera last aur best option hai.
Hi, I had a small query. Need some tips on what to take bits goa dual degree MSc economics or rvce.
I'm really looking forward to bits but is the cost worth it?
Bits dual degree cost comes around to 30 lakhs and if I make it into rv through cet it will be much cheaper.
I am not looking in terms of placements only, but an overall view or suggestion of what would be a better choice.
Please do share any valuable suggestion any of you have. Hopefully it will help me weigh the pros and cons.👍
my_qualifications: pursuing BTech..need some help with a decision
Also, is BITS HYD cs good?
I have read a lot of people suggest even BITS Hyderabad over some IITS like BHU, Hyderabad for the equivalent branch. But why is getting an IIT way more difficult than getting the same in BITS?
I mean how can an exam which I prepared specifically for just a week award me a better college (according to general opinion as far as I have seen) which I have put months into (I know the syllabus is same so time put in for JEE prep. also counts in BITSAT prep. but that is why I have said months, I have put in the last 5 months specifically for Advanced most of which was of no use for BITSAT). It would like Brazil choosing to win an Olympic Gold (Football) over being Copa America Champions when they put 10x the efforts for the latter.
Reservation could have been one such point but I myself belong to OBC and still I believe getting an IIT is going to be tougher.
Fees is definitely one factor but everyone just asks to not base your judgement on it but I can definitely see how it could be the thing but still most people ignore it or don't give it that much emphasis to not choose BITS due to it. I visited r/BITSPilani and half of the posts were about the high fees and unusual fee hikes but that's the aftermath and don't think this is what makes it easier to get into the college.
I have come to think that even though a lot of people posting their opinions online just blindly take BITS to be equally good as the IITs but there is definitely a little catch somewhere that people miss. BITS is not really that good cause I have never really seen anyone choose a BITS over any equivalent IIT, I mean the only bracket people choose BITS over IITs is when the choice is between something like BITS Goa CS and IIT Tirupati Electrical (Just an example).
Just to conclude, all of this what I have written is basically a shitpost but just that I wanted some verification validation of my decision to not choose BITS (Hyderabad/Goa) having not given JEE Advanced yet.
Hi guys..Im a bit stumped.I have secured a msc econonomics seat at bits Goa and I will get pilani next round most likely in accordance to the previous year cutoff. I am hoping to get cs after my first year. My doubt lies here,is a higher cgpa harder to bag at pilani? Is there a big difference between the two places? Goa has the pro of being closer to my homecity so is it worth going to pilani?
So I had my bitsat today and scored enough to get bits Goa/HYD eni. Btw how are opportunities for eni guys . Like are they even given any internships. Is it really difficult to learn coding and also do eni. How is it different than ece. My dad says eni is more into the hardware side and limits us there while ece is flexible to CS side. I also have Manipal ece /DSE is it better to take this or go for Manipal ? It would be helpful if someone studying eni answers this.
Ok so I am getting eni at goa campus at the moment and will probably get ece at goa finally(my score is 317). The thing is, I may get eni at pilani but at a very late stage. So should I change college a month after starting? Will be able to fit in a new peer group?
Didn't do well enough to get CSE. Will get pilani mech or Goa eci or maybe- just maybe Goa ece. Will get anything except CSE in Hyderabad.
I want to work only in IT in the end, but will not get cse so need to search alternates. I'm not worried about learning to code or developing skills myself (already know that). I just need a good college. Also preferably one that will help me get the heck out of this courtry.
Are the colleges mentioned above (BITS-P Mech, Goa-ECI Hyderabad-Anything but CSCE) good for getting a tech job? Or I need to go through more trauma to secure my seat somewhere else? I really really don't want to get stuck doing a non-coding job.
Ok so I know there are whatsapp groups but I'm looking to find some like minded friends. I'm from ENI, want to learn programming, piano and a sport(probably tennis) I want to make a good profile as I want to apply abroad for masters. If you're interested in coming together please let me know in the comments.
Basically what the title says, just to figure out the iteration wise cutoffs
Is anyone here pursuing masters in any bits campus and can share the experience of masters and placement scenario for m.e people??
I have no relatives or senior friends in Engineering so I have no idea what I am talking about. My friends basically just say Goa for reasons like partyzzz and higher cutoff, so I would highly need and appreciate your opinion.
My biggest concern is learning opportunities and internship opportunities (CS branch).
Hyderabad is definitely a better location for finding tech internships (am I wrong?) and Goa is in Zuarinagar which is a slum area from what I've heard.
Is it common to travel states for getting internships among students ? Also do colleges give students a leave semester for internships or is it done in parallel to college classes?
I read somewhere that GSoC is more popular in BITS Goa simply because of lack of internship opportunities and strict rules in leaving campus.
What other factors should I look for when choosing a college?
Please provide any opinions 🙏 I feel like this post will die out and I will be helpless.
I put Mech Goa above Chem Pilani in my Preference list ,now that I've got Mech Goa it got me thinking if I'll have to regret this decision. If someone from Mech Goa could plz respond,Thanks in Advance
Please let me know what you think, thanks.

I am getting IIT Dhanbad Civil and BITS Goa MSc Mathematics (might upgrade to Pilani). Which will be a better option? BITS has its own advantages like high packages and a chance of getting a branch of interest (I like mathematics, coding, and mechanics). However the fees at BITS overshadows it's advantages. Although fees is not an issue and could be dealt with a loan, the fact must be acknowledged that it is almost 3 times the fees at IIT. Further a dual degree will take 5 years and if I donot get a preferred branch due to some reason it will be a massive loss loss situation. At IIT, changing branch will be difficult but I will get the IIT tag. I might go for higher studies after that and then my branch won't matter. However hostels at IIT are poorly maintained and I believe campus life there won't be as fun as BITS. According to some seniors at IIT, I can always do coding as an interest and sit in IT placements. Please help.
hey guys so just got to know that i have been allocated a seat in iiser already in bits Goa .
