After my first half marathon in June my coach and I decided that we would increase my mileage and the overall pace of my workouts. (From about 25-26mi/week to 30 miles a week, also 9:20/mile to 9:00 for long runs). This was also the first summer that I actually trained in (I had run before as a teen but never long runs or speed workouts) and I quickly realized that it was way too hot to run out in the afternoon or even late mornings (85 to 95F somedays). There were a few runs I had to run very slow or stop altogether because of the heat. So I began running in the morning. Due to work beginning at 7am, I had to get up at around 5am and get my run in then. On the weekends when I did my long runs I woke up at about 7am. This was a difficult schedule to follow as I am normally a night person but I adjusted and eventually got used to it. There were a few times where I missed my alarm or just didn't want to get up and had to do my recovery run late at night or just slug it out in the heat. My diet was not very consistent due to the fact that after my first race I thought I earned some good food for awhile (sigh), this also affected my training. In the end about 2-3 weeks prior to this race I got my diet finally in check and even dropped about 5lbs.
The night before i ate a very carb heavy meal of rice, potatoes and some Ugali made from corn maize (very easy to make) I also had a smoothie filled with spinach, beet juice, bananas, frozen berries etc. The race would begin at 7am so I went to bed at about 9pm but didn't fall asleep til probably 10pm or so. I got up at 5am and ate some watermelon and made sure I was well hydrated. We were running a bit late getting to the course so I didn't have time to get in the many bathroom breaks necessary (nerves) before the race began. It took about a half hour to get to the starting line from the airbnb we were

What in the holies of the holies??
Innistrad Remastered? Historic Anthology? 4player Brawl? One free card?? BIG NEWS???
If it's "Dec 9 release" it's not a large card drop (needs preview hype); Anthology would be my best guess or maybe a new feature?

In the history of the Big 12 championship, there have only been 10 out of 14 members ever make the game. With the defeat of Texas Tech, that list grows to 11. Here are the appearances and records of every team to make it (former members will be italicized):
Oklahoma: 12 (11-1)
Texas: 6 (3-3)
Nebraska: 6 (2-4)
Colorado: 4 (1-3)
Kansas State: 3 (1-2)
Texas A&M: 2 (1-1)
Missouri: 2 (0-2)
Baylor: 1 (0-1)
Iowa State: 1 (0-1)
TCU: 1 (0-1)
Oklahoma State: 1* (Not played yet)
The three current members that have never made the game are:
Kansas: Had their best shot in 2007, not very likely to have another shot soon.
West Virginia: They've had some good seasons, but nothing truly monumental. Once the realignments happen, maybe they'll have a shot.
Texas Tech: Even Patrick Mahomes wasn't able to lead this team to a Big 12 title, maybe someday they'll play in Arlington.
There will be 4 new teams added after realignments:
BYU: Very solid team, could possibly be contenders year one.
Cincinnati: This team would be my pick for the next new team to appear in a Big 12 title game, very good team and possible national title contender once they join a more respectable conference
Houston: This is a respectable team, plus they keep the number of Texas schools in the Big 12 the same
UCF: Sadly, this team doesnt have the luster they did a few years ago but they add a good program in the deep south to compete in the recruiting battle
Who do you all think is the next new team to appear in the Big 12 title game?

I am a backer, I was happy with those first backer builds where you could test and see just a couple of things. I was much less happy when the game got released - was very buggy. I waited some time, it got a bit polished, I gave it a couple of playthroughs. Out of 5 stars? Not great, not terrible. 3,6. :-D
I returned to PP after a year or so, because I was very curious about Festering Skies DLC (I loved intercepting enemy crafts in original X-COMs in 90s). Can't say I am disappointed, but the game still doesn't have the feeling I hoped it to have.
What I see now, after all those patches, DLCs and the stuff. Well, the game definitely got better in terms of stability and UI. This is good because the devs are probably responding to the players' complaints/feedback.
Some things are different from what I remember (I was kinda surprised you can't build food factories from the start, for example :-) ), but that's OK, things change.
But I can't just get rid of the feeling that it's still "work in progress" game. It's not buggy in the terms of game crashes or hangs, that's fine.
But still it feels like an unfinished product - like the components of the game not working well together as a whole. I also feel that it's a question of pure luck how playable will be the game. Sometimes you get a nice roll, sometimes not. Like my recent playthrough - I started in South America, progressed to North America, got the whole American continent covered, Antarctica as well. And yet, I have not met a SINGLE Anu haven to interact with them any way. Same goes for Scavenging missions, to get some resources (now even more scarce than before, as you can't establish your food trade routes).
I like the game being challenging, don't get me wrong. I know that this is a game where you are trying to defend the world from destruction, so you can't expect the resources to be abundant. I like being punished for my own strategic mistakes. But still, the game should be fun. I think there are still too many cases when you simply decide it would be better to start over, because you simply didn't get that "lucky roll" in the beginning and could not play the way you should have.
Then there are those still persistent tactical battle aspects. Like tedious repeated attacks on Nests. Like completely stupid AI of some enemy units. Like some pointless difficulty spikes on some missions. And so on.
Generally speaking, I hope that this game is gonna get better. It's not bad. But it hasn't yet gone t

Texas Tech is coming off a very rough weekend in Norman, but much of the focus these last two weeks has been on the coaching search that led to the hiring of Joey McGuire, who was a lynchpin in Baylor's post-Briles rebuild. Cumbie is still the interim HC, which is allowing McGuire to focus on recruiting and assembling his staff.
Iowa State is coming off two night and day performances: a 7 point away loss to West Virginia, and a 23 point home win against the all (sugar-in-the-tank) gas, no brakes circus. Campbell has Iowa State looking good, but we look to avoid Brocktober.
Texas Tech leads the all time series 11-8. Texas Tech won the first meeting 52-0 on September 23, 1967 in Lubbock. Texas Tech won both pre Big 12 meetings, and leads the Big 12 series 9-8, however, Iowa State has won the last 5 meetings.

I am asking this because I cannot give up this game and I relate this to my liking of big buildings. Actually, the game made me think of this part of me. Before playing the game, I never thought if I liked big complicated state buildings. But after playing it, I actually started to think.
The atmosphere of this game reminds me of the big gloomy hospitals I used to visit when I was a child. I always liked big state buildings and I was always curious about every corner, every room of those buildings. They were gloomy and gripping at the same time. Now it is like this game lets me do it all with a supernatural adventure. I am in love with the maintenance sector, especially.
I wonder if you have a similar story.
