In an Actors on Actors discussion with the first film’s own Michael B. Jordan, she discussed the extent of the film’s impact on her, which goes way beyond what one would expect. Here you go. She’s clearly very passionate about the franchise.

The other day, the very reliable MyTimeToShineHello claimed that Theron and Justin Timberlake had been contacted by Marvel (Timberlake is suspected to be for >!Zeke Stane in Ironheart!<). WF has obviously had its production issues, but we still know the movie’s core cast. Shuri seems to be the lead, and Tenoch Huerta is playing Namor.

However, the movie is missing its typical Hollywood prestige name. Like how Kurt Russell, Michael Douglas and Samuel L. Jackson were credited at the end of the cast billing in their respective movies (besides Captain Marvel and FFH for the latter, which had Jude Law and Jake Gyllenhaal instead), WF’s going to need a prestige name that the ‘and’ credit can be given to. Andy Serkis took it last time, whilst Boseman and Jordan were the leads. But with all three gone, someone will need to fill that void, and even though Lupita N’Yongo, Daniel Kaluuya and Angela Bassett are all Oscar winners, they aren’t stars. Admittedly I wouldn’t call Serkis much of a ‘star’, either, but my other examples still stand.

A while back, an unreliable Twitter account claimed that Lake Bell would be portraying Lucia von Bardas in the upcoming sequel. For those who are unaware, she’s a Latverian politician who later becomes a cyborg. Whilst I wouldn’t expect Doom to debut this year, much like with Dane Whitman in Eternals, it wouldn’t at all surprise me to see Lucia brought in for some world-building to set up future projects.

My guess is that the account is half-right, and that Theron will portray the character. She’s already a seasoned action star, so even though she might not necessarily do her own stunts, this would still be more effective than having CGI completely take over. She was previously considered for Hela in Ragnarok and, infamously, Hippolyta in the Wonder Woman movies.

But hey, it’s just a a theory, a REDDIT THEORY!

Have not followed up so not sure about this...

I'm not really feeling it with BARDA at this point. I still check every once in a while. The EZ-BAA updated today. This is the smaller of the two programs. I see nothing of note for Athersys in the changes.

Guys this may be big or it may be a typo/oversight. I need eyes on this ASAP. Does anyone else read the changes for Amendment 29 showing a change in AOI 9.3?

Is it possible (likely) that the ARDS data from the Healios Multistem trial was a trigger to reopen discussion with BARDA? The timing of things seems to fit and our ARDS Japan data was very, very compelling...

That was why they stated about Multistem as a potential COVID-19 ARDS therapeutic in the past. In reality, nothing has changed and the Healios study adds additional confirmation. Certainly getting funding would be a game changer for Athersys and give us the momentum that is sorely needed right now.

So I took everyone's advice the last time I posed and began upgrading Dr. Poison for her AOE. And it was working wonders, until I came across some variation of the team in the title. Aquaman KOA isn't a guaranteed member, and Barda and Azrael seem to swap out for each other, but Terra and Spectre are consistent members. Terra of course protects Spectre from the AoE, and because you've triggered an attack, Azrael either strikes back or Barda buffs and gets her perma-taunt.

It seems like this is impossible quadfecta of DCLegends since it involves protections against debuffs. How have you guys overcome them?

Watched today’s BARDA Industry Day sessions and below are a few takeaways and summary of the relevant sessions:

Highlights:

• BARDA is focused on the next pandemic readiness
• They are seeking to develop and commercialize solutions for Acute Lung Injury and ARDS.
• Watching the entire day, it’s very clear they are focused on investing and developing a solutions in this area.
• ARDS was discussed in multiple sessions including the Keynote, Program Directors and a few Individual Sessions.
• One speaker said they have "Recognized “Gap” for Late Stage Hospitalized Patients with Lung Injury and ARDS and are looking to invest in these areas.
• For ALI/ARDS, they discussed many failed trials and are not considering anti-virals in the new rounds of investment.
• In terms of ARDS, they discussed the need for pathogen independent solutions that modulate the immune system and help healing post injury.
• They discussed Trauma quite a bit and looking for solutions in this area.
• They discussed the need not only develop therapeutics, but also invest in manufacturing and distribution so solutions reach the market.
• There are a relatively limited number of breakouts. In day-2 (tomorrow), they are dedicating an hour to Therapeutic Development for ARDS Breakout- at 2:45 tomorrow ET.

Summary:

BARDA is prioritizing investment and finding solutions for ARDS and late-stage hospital treatments and seemed very open to engaging with partners. And so, with positive One-Bridge Data + Must-ARDS and a P3 trial (Macovia) already organized by FDA and BARDA, Athersys should be at the front of the line for a significant investment.

Gary discussed the following -

· FY21 Covid Achievements and FY22 Funding Levels ($2.1B)

· How BARDA is moving to preparedness for next pandemic (pathogen independent)

· Discussed FY22 Initiatives on the below slide.

· Gary said these are seeking to invest in therapeutics for hospitalized patients including Acute Lung Injury (ALI) and ARDS

· He said the program directors would discuss each strategic initiative during the sessions.

I've gotten through the text of the BAA and there is a lot to go through this time. This was not a small change, this was not just one or two items being updated. This was the big, wholesale update to the BAA that I've been looking for, and spoiler alert, 9.3 is not the only interesting change.

I'm going to ignore 9.3 for now, because we've already talked about it and Golgo with through it point by point in the earlier thread. Read this if you have not, it's good stuff.

Athersys should be knocking on doors

He is not a good counter for Barda. While Arkis is a great toon and he can kill Barda with his second, that it's only possible if she doesn't have a lot of her buffs.

The fact is, Barda is a physical tank, and she defends very well against physical attacks like Arkis.

The best counter to Barda in the game that you can farm for free is SSS Lex. Not only he can put buff immunity on her but also he does Special damage. You can also use Zod, Eradicator, Grodd, Larfleeze. And these are only a few greens that deal special damage as well. You can check all characters in the https://dcltoolkit.com/characters/, to see if they do physical damage like Arkis or special damage like the others I mentioned.

Keep in mind that Physical damage increases with Strength ups while Special damage increases with intelligence ups. On the same way the contrary, if you Arkis or an Azrael that has a lot of strength downs they will do a lot less damage.

I am not saying that you can't use characters that use physical damage to hit characters that defend with the same, it's only that the damage is a lot less.

One character that is very useful against Barda is Black Manta, where he can't turn up to 5 of her mends into bleeds. The few reasons I don't recommend him as the best counters are one, he is not farmable, two, it's not guaranteed five bleeds, and three, he dies way too easily in my opinion.

Hola. la situación es esta. Mi vecino de al lado no tiene contra barda, y de mi barda ya colgó macetas, lonas, clavo unas estacas. Hable con el civilizadamente hace como un año pidiendole que quitara todo de mi pared/barda. Es lo hora que no lo ha hecho, y no me quiero desgastar en exigirle que lo haga. Se puede demandar legalmente por este hecho? No queria llegar a este extremo. Gracias de antemano

The prezo built on yesterdays theme of "pathogen independence" and how ARDS is derived from multiple sources - Sepsis, Chemical, Flu and Antibacterial. After a short introduction, four presenters outlined their specific challenges followed by Q&A.

Key Takeaways: When you look at the entire movie over two days, BARDA clearly recognizes the absence of available ARDS treatments translates to long hospitalizations, poor patient outcomes, increased mortality, high hospital costs etc... Good news is BARDA is eager to fund relevant treatments which should be great news for Athersys, the worlds ARDS leader!
