A list of puns related to "Bad Legal"
I'm sure I'm leaving plenty of sleazebags out, feel free to add them.
EDIT Of course I managed to spell Gensler wrong, he's forgettable as he is powerless, or complicit, or both.
In legal documents, I would mark down white and American Indian. But not βhispanic.β Will this prevent me from getting hired for jobs? Will something bad happen to me? Will I mess my life up by doing this? I just donβt want to identify with a label that society is putting on me.
I've always been curious about this. Do you all think making public nudity legal would actually create an increase in sexual crimes? What are the pros and cons? This question seems very obvious, but when I started thinking about it, I couldn't pinpoint exactly why it's illegal considering it used to be the norm.
So Niantic reversed the distance change when NZ had 1 confirmed locally transmitted case but refused to do the same when the US just had over 250k new cases and 1k+ deaths in one day (an over 2000% increase in about one month).
This basically proves that Niantic doesn't actually care about player health/safety, but only local laws (e.g. lockdown or not) so they don't run into legal troubles or get into media's crosshairs. All those statements about caring about the players and the community were nothing but PR talk and virtue signaling.
This is not at all surprising for a corporation of course, but it's still disappointing and despicable.
I am 31 years old and I have a son. So far I've lived quite an independant life and never planned on getting a 9-5 job (Oh I forget we are in South Africa so its a 8-5 :) ). I've run two legal businesses, but majority of my time and experience was in the cannabis scene, thats why I like to joke and say that I have a bit of a "breaking bad resume/cv". After things went legal the whole scene got really bad, not just in terms of profits dropping, I've also seen a huge increase in people getting illegally raided without warrants. I am a firm believer in adapt or die and at this point of my life I've realized that I need to make a big change in my life.
I've been quite computer literate my whole life. I can do basic desktop support, I also have a friend who is into devops kinda stuff who taught me a bit of Linux sysadmin stuff, which I quite enjoyed (and I'm keen to try learn a job where I can learn more of that).
I don't have a criminal record (Thank God).
I would like to know how can i get someone to give me a break and just get a foot in the door in IT. I'm maybe considering going to one of the coding schools either CodeX or WethinkCode(both sound great), but right now I would like to get a job asap if possible and just try learn on my own in my freetime. The friend who taught me a bit of Linux sysadmin stuff also used to take me with to several hacking meetups and conferences and I found those really really interesting. The infosec/hacking community sounds quite open to employing people with criminal records as long as they have hacking skills, so this sounds like a nice industry to break into at some point because I might meet more people with similiar backgrounds to me.
I understand at my age I would have to start right from the bottom and would need to be willing to pretty much take any job I can get, and I am fine with that...I just want to get a foot in the door.
So the TLDR is: I want to know how I can get job in IT/possibly desktop support or super junior linux admin role at a company that won't be too bothered by the gaps in my CV. Please take in mind I'm not lazy, I just happened to chose this life cause I had quite a tough upbringing and thought this was the way to go, only realized too late that I should've maybe taken a different "career path".
Let me know what you think, keen to see if there are any people here with similiar background/life stories. Thanks for your time. Feel free to dm me if you would like to see my CV.
Trying not to leak too much of my (or their) information while still getting the question across. Basically I attended a residential program for treatment of PTSD about a year ago. Iβm transgender and some stuff went down around that which was less than great so a couple months after getting out I left a review about that (and did name the therapist). I genuinely believe everything I wrote was true even if it was pretty blunt. Flash forward a few months (to today) the therapist texted me and said they are speaking with a lawyer and will pursue legal action (I assume a defamation suit) if I donβt take the review down/take their name out of it. This seems pretty awful to me because I donβt want to be scared into silence and I feel like others have a right to know what happened. I also know several other clients that have had really bad experiences with this therapist if that matters. Should I just take it down? Are they just trying to scare me and thereβs no substance behind it? Also can I stop them from repeatedly texting me (cause that just makes me uncomfortable)? Any advice is very much appreciated!
On r/legaladvice, there are a LOT of posts that are like "Can I be arrested for [insert thing the person did]" and no one seems to ever advise against it. But on Avvo, I see that attorneys always tell these kinds of askers not to disclose it on a public forum.
Is there really a chance that someone is going to report the post to the authorities and have that person tracked down for admitting it?
The private college I attend has a student handbook contract with school policy. In a small section outlined for immediate termination is a section called Slander. The clause states that any written or verbal derogatory statements towards x college and their staff on any social media platform will result in immediate termination. I was asked at the time of signing if I understand what Slander and Libel are, which I do.
The owners of the school are the ones who do all conflict resolution through the dean. I was not aware of this at the time of signing, nor was I aware the owners were treating this as a non-disparagement clause to the point of policing complaints on student group chats by suspending, punishing, or disciplining students who complain or have criticisms. I was also not aware that there has been a history of the owners aggressively pursuing students who leave negative reviews with legal action (an ex-classmate has just been served and is being sued for defamation over a google review...)
My question is--how legal is this clause if it is being presented as a clause for slander and libel? Is this actually an enforcable agreement with such broad wording? The complaints I have seen have been valid and some have photo evidence. I realize that it might not hold up in a court of law but this school charges nearly 20,000 dollars for tuition and I am learning now may have been in the habit of firing teachers and students who complain and threatening them with legal trouble instead of administering proper conflict resolution. How legal is it to present conflict resolution by contract through an administrator but have it actually be the owners of the school?
Any advice would be appreciated as I have also been threatened with legal action over complaining at an accommodations for an injury being revoked without warning and exams being withheld as punishment and am afraid my education might be on the line
Also, any idea when you think Kansas will become weed legal?
Anyways, what can you tell me about your experiences vaping marijuana? Vaping marijuana did not have any ill health effects later on, right?
By the way, whenever I do get around to vaping it, how many hours should I wait after a vape, to drive?
Howdy, readers, redditors, and competitors!
Iβm here to shout at you about Rise to Glory, my fantasy LitRPG, which is now available on Kindle, Audible, and in paperback.
Rise to Glory is a fantasy LitRPG set in the near future where VR esports have become more popular than, well, everything. It follows one gamer on the grind to go pro. A grind thatβd be a bit easier if he wasnβt suddenly kicked off his team and forced to cobble together another on short notice. Itβs got dungeon diving, brutal PVP combat, egotistical streamers, and at least one Star Wars meme that Audible wanted to run through legal.
Hereβs a universal link: https://getbook.at/RtG
Hereβs the blurb:
Welcome to The Glory - the worldβs biggest VR tournament.
In front of millions of viewers, teams compete in a battle royale where they clear dungeons, complete quests, and slay other players in a race to score the most points.
The winners are instant celebrities, and it's time Bash the Berserker joined their ranks. One win away from going pro, his dreams of fame, fortune, and that iced coffee sponsorship are finally coming true... until heβs kicked off his team mere hours before registrations close.
With everything on the line, Bash manages to cobble together a new rag-tag team. A washed-up semi-pro who hates his guts, a talented analyst whoβs never actually competed, and a streamer whose ego is only surpassed by her love of throwing swords.
Oh, and if they want to earn their glory, Bash will have to trade in his war hammer and play as a three-foot-tall, tree-hugging elf...

... keep reading on reddit β‘I (27F) have a one year old daughter and her father (28M) and I broke up just before her first birthday in July He decided to move out but it took him 3 months to take action and actually move. Heβs been extremely angry and almost any and everything sets him off. His emotions are out of control
Heβs once admitted that heβs sad about the breakup and wants to go to therapy to work on the relationship.
Then he goes back to picking fights and starting arguments over the smallest things. Everything is seen as disrespect to him. At this point I have no emotional reactions for him because of how drained I am. That makes him angrier.
The most recent argument was because I turned off the baby monitor in my apartment so my private conversations were not overheard by him. The baby monitor picks up sound and has a camera and itβs all connected to an app we both have access to. But, itβs in my apartment. He said me not keeping the monitor on was disrespectful and Iβm not honoring his request as her father. She was not in the room or in her bed. There was no need for the monitor to be on.
βWhen it come to her, I need to check in on her. I donβt need or want to call you anytime I do that. Especially when I set up her camera in her room.. thatβs selfish, disrespectful and unnecessary.β
Long story short - I wanted to truly find our own way to navigate co-parenting but his unpredictable emotions and the way he gets uncooperative about our daughter based on his feelings of me, are honestly leaving me no choice.
Can someone share what options there are when it comes to getting legal mediation, guidance with holding him accountable to a caretaking schedule, etc? Iβm aware of custody and child support but Iβm looking for all available options and hearing others experiences. We have no schedule and bulk of the responsibility is on me. He thinks of it as βhelping me outβ vs carrying his weight off the responsibility of parenthood.
Thank you in advance
I work a night shift position where we work 10 and a half hour shifts 7 days on, 7 days off. I work with the same people every week, and the same people work on the opposite week. Our employer has us as 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) but because we only are scheduled for 73.5 hours, they use our PTO that we accrue (which is only 7 hours per pay period) to get us to the 80 hours every pay period. It would take me 20 pay periods (40 weeks) to be able to get an entire shift covered with PTO at this rate.
We asked months ago to lower our FTE, so that we would actually be able to gain PTO (only getting paid for what we work) so some of our coworkers could family plan and others could use it to have a health work life balance. Recently they came back to us and told us they wouldnβt do that because it would be harder in the future to recruit our position, despite the fact that per our company we would still be full time employees either way. We have a greater sneaking suspicion that itβs actually because they donβt like finding coverage for our shifts. Me and my coworkers feel lost, and donβt know what to do, because we like what weβre doing, but if we only get to have a life half the time (our on week are literally just sleep/eat/shower/work) and our manager only care about what our positions look like from a recruiting stand point, I donβt know how any of us will want to stay.
Has anyone else dealt with this, and how did you get management to fix things? Iβm not worried about job security, my previous supervisor works in a new role and has been trying to get me to apply for a job that pays $10 more an hour than my current role (my previous supervisor is an amazing mentor to me, has visited me in the hospital when Iβm sick, and is more like a family member to me, so I know the new position with her would be a dream as her and I are a powerhouse team that was recognized multiple times by our previous employer for being great leaders), but even if I take that role, my coworkers that would be left behind still have to put up with this bullshit. I love my whole work crew, so Iβm rather sad with the idea of leaving, so if there is anything I can do to change the current outlook of our situation, itβd be appreciated. Any ideas? TIA.
I'm still in the church, but I've been planning to leave the day I turned 18. A few days ago some reason, I had the idea that I should leave the church with some kind of bang. Getting excommunicated from the church, not doing anything illegally of course. Is this a bad idea, I am just being edgy? I mean this isn't something I'll need to do for 2 years so I might as well ask now. edit (grammar)
Thank everyone in the comments for their input, very clever and sinsightful ideas, but it seems getting excommunicated isn't worth the time, but I'm grateful for the input anyway :)
