Australian Ikea Puns

This seems to be a pretty unpopular opinion these days. Every review for the last 5 years I've seen (albeit a small few) absolutely slam the 370Z for everything in its arsenal.

I've bought a 2018 Nismo, coming from a 2013 WRX STI that I turbo upgraded to make 335 wheel horsepower. But I've also driven alot of other sports cars / daily'd newer not so fast cars. But here's my impressions for the Z.

Interior:

Every single car reviewer slams the interior of the Z, calling it severely outdated. From the dash lights and headunit, down to the poor storage space.

What these guys fail to point out, is that the Z doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. The storage space sucks, but you buy that knowing its a 2 door, 2 seater coupe.

The car is all about the driving experience and really not alot else. You can't fit your family in it, you can't fit your IKEA bedside table in it, but you sure as shit can have a lot of fun driving it. And that's what its meant to be, which can be found in the interior too.

I actually love the interior design of the Z and I think it suits. The dash is something unique alongside the cluster with a single line of LED's indicating your fuel level. It's clearly been influenced by racing.

The head unit is completely touchscreen but can be used entirely with buttons. Sure the entire unit can be replaced by a single touch screen. But I actually still appreciate its styling. Like the way BMW kept using their phone number key pads even though the headunit was entirely touchscreen (which no one ever slammed mind you).

Speakers are good, better than average. Not your typical BMW quality.

It has the basic features you need like Bluetooth, navigation, AUX, USB etc. Which for me personally is all I need. Alongside your basic push start ignition, automatic headlights, reverse camera and automatic rain sensors. None of the new safety tech, which believe it or not is a pro in my book.

Safety tech like lane assist annoy the shit out of me to be honest. But this goes back to this car being a driver focused vehicle.

Seat wise, the recaro's are actually fantastic. My Subaru recaro's felt so crappy compared to these.

My only pet peeves.

1. The single drink holder is tiny for no reason. If I can only fit one drink, atleast make it a big one??

2. Blindspot monitoring. There is a giant ass blindspot that you can't avoid even when looking over your shoul

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

The whole thing is worth 9 trillion. In the last 6 months it added a trillion dollars of “value”.

That’s just fucking stupid. More importantly as we’ve all experienced, nothing draws a line that steep up without sucking mighty dick and retracing. The problem with houses though is offloading them when you’re deep in the red is difficult and slow and the more incentivised the seller becomes the worse the problem gets. Especially when the seller becomes a back foreclosing on someone because they couldn’t keep up with the interest repayments. When housing retraces under these conditions it’s seldom a leisurely stroll. It’s usually a bums for the exits.

When interest rates drop to basically 0 and stay there for 13 years you are guaranteeing an asset bubble.

The way it works is very basic. Cheap rates and available credit incentives borrowing. The easiest asset to borrow against is housing because banks are simple dull creatures and they falsely believe housing to be a rock solid safe bet, which it fucking isn’t, it’s just an asset class and they can all do deeply dumb shit because people are involved.

So you wind up with a self reinforcing cycle that just keeps going up until the breaks get pumped. The cycle is simple; easy credit allows more people to buy, they can then lend against the
