In case you need a reminder of how long ago the 2018 playoffs were, here were the quarterbacks playing that week: Matt Ryan (run it back again with Matt in 2022, Atlanta!), Drew Brees (not quite a cadaver back then), Alex Smith (backed up by rookie Mahomes, offering hope to Trey Lances everywhere), Jared Goff (McVay's debut season), Marcus Mariota (Tannehill was with Adam Gase in Miami), Tyrod Taylor (who later got benched for Josh Allen -- as it turned out, not because of racism), Blake Bortles (who has had 5 stints, 0 starts, and innumerable Pardon My Take appearances in the past 3 seasons), and Cam Newton (who half of the Panthers fan base still thinks is the guy to lead them to the Super Bowl). By the way, Nick Foles and Case Keenum were poised to match up in the NFC Championship (or, as Bill would say, "Round 3") a couple weeks later. Suffice to say that times have changed.

So, I wanted to offer this mailbag to you as a sort of crude imitation of the able-fingered man we once knew (I hope, for the Sports Gal's sake, that he's still able to satisfy her in other ways). These are real tweets from actual tweeters, but the Bill impression is preposterously fake. Despite that, let's have some fun, make some picks, and argue in the comments section about what we expect this weekend.

I think we had spent so much time talking up the tie (and in that moment hearing about the tie) that by then we, as a football watching society, had convinced ourselves they were Definitely Doing The Tie.

Preface: This post was originally just intended to be a quick doom & gloomer regarding the stat in the title. But as I got into it, the rest just came pouring out of me. As it turns out, I had A LOT of thoughts and feelings about the state of the Giants. Nothing revolutionary or dissimilar to stuff that many here have already said, I just needed to get my thoughts out there. This post is lengthy and quite dark at times, and I don’t blame you for not reading it all. If you’re looking for a pick-me-up, this is not the read for you. Thank you in advance if you make it all the way to the end.

As we’re all aware, no New York Giants were named to the 2022 Pro Bowl for the 2nd time in three years. This got me thinking and due to morbid curiosity, I decided to research and ended up confirming my pessimistic suspicion:

Justin Tuck, in 2011/10 (2011 Pro Bowl from his 2010 season), was the last New York Giant, drafted by the Giants, after the 2nd round, to make the Pro Bowl (PB) or All-Pro (AP) team. A decade long draught and counting. I suppose you could count Victor Cruz in 2013/12 if you wanted to go by the spirit of the query and not the letter but Cruz was not drafted, he was signed the day after the draft as an undrafted rookie free agent.

Every single other Giant to make the PB since 2011 was either a 1st round pick, 2nd round pick, or signed as a free agent. It gets worse… going back even further, Justin Tuck (2011/10 and 2008/09), David Diehl (2010/09), Zak DeOssie (2011/10 and 2009/08 as Special Teamer), David Tyree (2006/05 as Special Teamer), and Jessie Armstead (2002/01 and 2001/00) were the only homegrown Giants drafted after the 2nd round to make the PB this century.

Yes, the PB is largely a popularity contest to some extent. But keep in mind that players are voted in by the coaches, the players themselves, and the fans. Each group’s ballots count for one third of the votes. If you prefer to go by All-Pro, you’ve got undrafted Victor Cruz in 2011 (for 2011 season), Justin Tuck in 2010 and 2008, David Diehl in 2008, David Tyree in 2005, and two Gmen in 2000, Keith Hamilton and Jessie Armstead.

This is not to suggest that we haven’t drafted any above average players this century outside of the 2nd round. We’ve had a decent amount of solid-good contributors relative to where they were drafted. More recently, the first names that come to mind are Cam Brown on Special Teams, Mr. Irrelev

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Is it just me that REALLY LIKES some specific CGs??? There's a really pretty style that is definitely from he same artist (i think this artist worked on Antonio Benson, Martin Dixon and now Levi Rees,, not 100% but they are very similar styles).
