A list of puns related to "Animelab"
well... what the fuck.
as animelabs closed its doors yesterday ive been forced to now watch anime on this abomination of a platform, everytime i try watch something it takes 5+ minutes to load which was never a problem on animelab and the mobile app is even more fucky. The UI is significantly worse, super confusing and feels outdated (like shippuden being hidden in with the original anime) and missing some shows like One Piece (in AUS) it puzzles me that they would migrate but then keep the far shitter UI and servers of Funimation? like why?
Also on animelab there was an option to skip intro and outro which is a feature on every single other streaming service i use... expect Funimation? such a fucking basic feature is just non exsistent? what the fuck.. such a disapointment and i miss animelab alot.
My Animelab has now been merged to Funimation as with all other accounts and there are some considerable things I've noticed that make me question if Funimation cares all that much about it's users.
First of all, the absence of being able to mark previously unwatched videos as "Watched" or put series in the "watched" category without watching them. This is most likely only a problem for AnimeLab users but I like to note down what I have watched and not watched and be able to look back on them for any which reason. Since having to move to Funimation however I've found that all the animes I had previously watched have disappeared and I'm not able to even remark them.
Second of all, Animelabs format was much better, there were many more small features and scrolling was much easier. Rather than having many more tabs that you had to click for, your entire account was in 1 neat webpage excluding settings.
In conclusion, both crunchyroll and funimation suck and it really annoys me that they took one of the only good anime streaming services away from Australian and New Zealand people. We're a small amount of viewership compared to anywhere else. The only reason they bought Animelab was to have more control over the market without even bothering to make sure that the new viewership they were forcibly taking in was ok or accommodated for.
... And I know this is already well known so I'm just beating a dead horse... But what the actual...? This app they've got us using is absolutely horrible! It took me nearly 15 minutes to just load up one episode of My Hero Academia. The Animelab app was lightyears ahead of this.
Again I know I'm just ranting about shit most people here are already aware of, but I needed to rant.
Going from animelab, a less budgetted, smaller audience app to whatever you'd call this, is pathetic. The layout is utter trash, the controls (especially for console) is horrendous, they lack the bare minimum for features like a skip intro or outro button, the fastest it's loaded is still slower than animelabs slowest, and it's so filled with bugs it might as well still be in beta. I mean this whole sub is just people trying to fix issues with it, especially with cancelling their subscription. I suppose trapping people is the only way people would pay for this.
It is absolutely fantastic having to use the Funimation app which 80% of the time refuses to cast to my TV. Animelab I never had a single issue with, not one single instance of buffering or lag or episodes not playing. Funimation just randomly refuses to play episodes of a show and it's either skip that episode or wait for a day or two or three until it decides its going to finally cast the ep to my TV.
Hopefully they sort out this horrific app soon.
The services has been horrible. Every few episodes, the app crashes which I never experiences when I was paying for rhe former.
I might aswell go back to pirating / streaming where i know I'll get a more reliable experience.
I was under the impression that everything from AnimeLab was going over to Funimation when they forced us to swap after the big buyout.
Instead I have found so much I would watch didn't make it over which is very disappointing, I'll give it some more time but I'm pretty close to just swapping over to crunchy roll at this point.
Funimation bought out Animelab late in 2021, I started out with a lot of enthusiasm, surely with the direct link to the dubbing agency content would be much easier to come by. Holy balls were I wrong! In December 2021 Funi decided to terminate several licenses on the Animelab website to name a few, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, JoJo's. The pages exist on the Funimation website, however, they are region-blocked, something we did not have to put up with on Animelab. As things stand AU/NZ viewers have less access to content and we are expected to pay or want to keep our subscriptions that have rolled over despite the content deficit.
It is so disappointing to see this happen and it makes it so difficult to try and support the content provided by this company. All of the Animelab subscribers were trying to support the industry and as things stand, it seems that I need to go back to less legal ways of watching content.
Funimation, you've let us down, we tried to support the industry, we tried to support your works, and Funi, you've failed us. I would love to some effort on your side, and I've tried contacting your support multiple times, the best you can offer is 'keep an eye on our social media pages for new content!'. This is not good enough, and I sincerely think that Animelab users should unsubscribe and find 'alternative' ways to view this content.*on a side note, anyone that suggests using a VPN to circumvent the issue is missing the point, I shouldn't need to pay for another service to gain what I already had before this merger.*
Funimation, get your shit sorted, this is pathetic.Sincerely A frustrated Australian viewer.
Funimation has announced on their blog and social media that AnimeLab will retire on December 9, 2021 (AEDT). https://www.funimation.com/blog/2021/11/02/a-new-anime-era-begins-as-animelab-retires-on-9-december-2021/
Especially since funimation's is so absolute dogshit
I can't believe how bad the streaming platform is especially since Animelab was so good, if you want to canibalise Animelab and Crunchyroll at least make your streaming service as good as they were.
Hopefully Funimation will continue to imrove itself.

Since AnimeLab has been absorbed into Funimation am I able to get my saved anime from AnimeLab to Funimation or am I gonna have to ad every single one again? I know I've lost all progress in the animes that I've watched (I have no idea where I'm up to in Fairy Tail so that's great). Just want to know if they carry over
"So this is a story all about how my Animelab premium needs renewal somehow, so take a minute and just sit right there and ill tell you how i became the man who misses his ad-free Danganronpa!"
I have an Animelab account that, by all means, should be premium as the money has been charged for my monthly subscription BUT, when i go to my account, it says that i am NOT premium and it asks me to renew my premium when i know DANG WELL the money for it was paid on the 5th of this month.
Can ANYONE help? Ive tried going to Animelab support but they had NOTHING on my problem and i feel that if i cant watch my GOD DANG Danganronpa, this might very well become my supervillan origin story!!!!
-Signed a Danganronpa fan who just wants his "JUNKO, F**KING ENOSHIMA", back!
