The flood is attrition and like its namesake overwhelms and completely devours everything in its unceasing path like a tidal wave swallowing islands. The endless, from their very limited descriptions, are perseverance to anything(As they apparently take the halos full blast unaffected). They are something akin to a wall or mountain too great to overcome. Or something without ending. Like a ring.
And clues and cues in the story in infinite and its lore collectibles point to their relation with a certain species of eldritch crab space gods.
With that, I find it hard to believe they arent both closely related, or just outright manifestations or tools of the precursors.
Tldr- They are going to be similar but individual antagonistic forces stemming from the same origins I think.

Rappers and their music are so uninspired and boring that they say their names at the beginning of the song because you wouldn't know who it was otherwise.
The vast majority of rap music all sounds the same. The lyrics are pretty similar and the beats nearly identical. This forces rappers to announce themselves at the beginning of their songs because if they didn't, you wouldn't be able to tell who the artist was.
