#Pearce of mind for Freo fans
With his flowing locks, it is hard not to notice Alex Pearce around Victor George Kailis Oval, but the defenderโs immense ability stood out.
Pearce was a full participant and showed no signs of pre-season rust, catching the eye with some pinpoint kicking and clean hands around the ground ball.
What stood out most was Pearceโs leadership, as the 26 year-old took control of a small kicking drill, marshalling his teammates as he would on game day.
The vocal Tasmanian was in constant communication with his comrades, directing traffic and yelling encouragement when he did not have the ball in hand, while his off-ball positioning ensured he was always in the right place at the right time.
After another injury-hit season in 2021, Dockers fans will be hoping Pearce can add to his 63 games in seven years with the club.
With his contract up at the end of 2022, both Pearce and Fremantle fans alike will be hoping the talented defender can finally keep his injury woes at bay.
#Crowded house
It was almost a full house in Cockburn on Friday morning, as a large group of Dockers joined in the main session.
The vast majority of players assembled in the centre circle for the start and were full participants for the most part.
Just a handful of players, including a post-ankle surgery Matt Taberner, young gun Brandon Walker and Travis Colyer, set up camp in the forward pocket, doing some light ball work before progressing to a series of medium-pace runs along the boundary.
Otherwise, it was business as usual for the rest of the playing group with some agility and acceleration work, and a couple of kicking drills.
#Cross-training Cox limited
There was one notable absentee on the track on Friday. Brennan Cox did not make it onto the main oval, as the forward-turned-defender spent the duration of the session shackled to a cross-trainer.
It is no surprise to see Fremantle ease Cox back into pre-season with light duties, following his frustrating injury history.
Having successfully overcome hip issues which derailed his 2019 and 2020 campaigns, Cox had a promising first half of 2021 cut short due to a serious hamstring injury.
Cox lapped up the morning sunshine, shedding his singlet as he went about his carefully-managed program.

After reading through the heavily redacted document Arizona put out, laying out its probable cause case for Lori, does anyone actually believe Alex died of natural causes?
Has a Repo Man/Sid & Nancy/Walker miniseries ever been included in a March Madness or discussed on the pod? The first two of course are a little more known and still totally fun and worth deep dive discussions (Harry Dean Stanton, proto-They Live supermarket full of products with generic labels, Garry Oldman, Sy Richardson, even the trajectory of the Sex Pistols if it comes to it) , but the spectacular bounce of Walker both financially and critically (6 million dollar budget, $250k at the box office, zero stars from both Siskel AND Ebert) really ought to be discussed and the movie given its critical reappraisal. From all of its deliberate anachronisms in technology to mirror its 1850s setting to the not-so-different crisis in the 1980s, to arguably Ed Harris' greatest performance as this seething, pigheaded arm of imperialism (he lead the entire cast on a 10 mile forced march through the Nicaraguan countryside to get into character), to Peter Boyle's farting performance as Cornelius Vanderbilt I think that it's a straight up bug nuts masterpiece.
Any good mobster knows that after youโre done with getting your assassinations done, or your assassin becomes a liability (loose lips, sloppy work, anything that would possibly trace the murders back to you..,,) you have to kill your โguardian angel.โ
Alex loved his sister disproportionally. He followed her everywhere she moved. He appeared when she needed him in Texas to punish Joe Ryan, for which he did time in prison trying to shop a hit list.
Lori bragged to Charles Vallow that she could have him easily killed on her command. If only authorities, or even his bishop would have listened!
Alex, according to Loriโs nephew Zac Cox in an interview with Fox 10, said Alex was sort of a โweird guy.โ Zac spent most of his summers with the Vallows after they returned from Hawaii.
Beginning in 2017, Zac recalled that Alex and Lori began to be obsessed Chad Daybellโs books. Alex believed everything in the books and everything Lori said, according to Zac. Lori told Alex that she had spoken with Jesus Christ, and Alex believed her so much that he bragged about it to his bishop, who replied โthatโs pretty strange.โ
Word got around to Lori that Alex was talking to people, and Lori became extremely upset with him. He promised to keep Loriโs miracles and translation a secret, and to work for the greater good.
Alex also drove across the country as a truck driver, and on the radio constantly were the teachings of Chad Daybell, Julie Roe, and the whole group. In short, Alex was extremely devoted to his sister and her beliefs that were certainly not part of the belief system of the Church of Latter Day Saints. Alex was Loriโs โAvenging Angel.โ
In the summer of 2019, Zac quietly moved from the Vallow household. He felt tension in the air and he dislikes conflict. This was also the night Lori and Melanie Gibb moved Charlesโs truck, cancelled his flight, withdrew money from his business account, had the locks changed, and hid all of his personal items behind the massive amount of food storage, which Lori kept ready for Armageddon..
Zac didnโt find out Alex shot Charles for days. His calls and texts to Charles had gone unanswered. He found an article on the internet and discovered that Charles was dead. โThey murdered Charles, thereโs no doubt about it,โ asserts Zac.
โI wholeheartedly believe that they killed Al[ex too,] the timing was too perfectโ said Zac in the interview. Zac and his father moved back to Kansas the next day because they feared for their
... keep reading on reddit โกLike a few others, I suspect that Alexโs death did not take place without, shall we say, a little encouragement if not actual assistance from his beloved sister Lori. He had served his purpose so it was time to move on to that next existence. Lori didnโt need him any more and he did have a tendency to not keep his mouth shut, blabs to bishops and so forth. He had to go. But his sudden death enabled Law Enforcement to get search warrants and seize a few items of interest from Zulemaโs house. I donโt know if LE technically needed Alexโs physical phone to retrieve those messages that tied Lori to him in their conspiracy to murder Charles. [Iโve read the FBI didnโt need the phone to ping its presence in the pet cemetery but Iโm not sure.] But if Alexโs phone is what broke these cases openโฆwhat irony that his own death made possible the discovery of the evidence to charge Lori with Charlesโ murder, especially if she then poisoned her brother the hit man. Didnโt think of that, did ya, Lori? Iโm hoping that soon there will be made public information about pings from Alexโs phone on Oct 2 or 3 as well as messages between him and whoever was driving that jeep when he [allegedly] attempted to shoot Brandon. Enough investigation, LE! I want an arrest!!!
I'm new to the community so maybe this had been covered already, but after everything he did for Lori and Chad, he just conveniently dies of "natural causes" in December? Is that correct? Seems pretty lucky for them. Has there been any other information about his death or suspicion about Chad or Lori being tied to his death? If there is information elsewhere I'd love a link. Thank you!
