A list of puns related to "Yankee screwdriver"
Its not the push pull wood handle Yankee. This is a small metal one, apprx 3 or 4 inches long. It had Philips on one side and straight on the other, it was a ratchet style. My late grandfather had plenty of them, I originally thought he got them exclusively at work. He was an Otis elevator installer in NYC. Im told they used them only for a specific part/install.
Anyway, I actually have a need for one, not just nostalgia
Curious, has anyone seen one that would be appropriate for M3/4-40 and down hardware? I work on 3D printers a lot and I'm starting to dislike hex keys in this application. Probably nice in small part assembly too.
i got an odd yankee spiral/ratchet screwdriver
it doesn't have a direction/lock control
seems to just go clockwise
what is it? tried to attach pic link to pic https://imgur.com/a/mvxV0AE

I'm looking for a small push/spiral/yankee screwdriver with a 2 year or better warranty. So far I haven't found much. Lee Valley has medium-sized driver with what appears to be their standard 30-day guarantee; does anyone know of anything better?
First off, mods. Please remove this post if itβs against the rules.
I am selling 3, Stanley Yankee Spiral Ratcheting Screwdrivers. Iβm not selling these for a profit, Iβm selling these for what I paid for them. I havenβt been using them at all, so Iβd like to pass them on to someone who collects, or will get use from them.
I have cleaned all the parts and they are working very well again.
Stanley Yankee 131: Β£20 + P&P Used Condition: I had to respray the handle, replace the mechanism screw and the retaining collar is quite lose. But still works fine.
Stanley Yankee 130B + 6 bits: Β£25 + P&P Good Condition comes with Original bag and bits some mild rust on the bits.
Stanley Yankee 135B + 3 Bits: Β£18 + P&P Very Good Condition

A couple weeks ago I saw a Craftsman commercial for a screwdriver type tool. You push on the handle and the spiral drive makes the head spin a couple revolutions. I just looked through the Craftsman website and couldn't find it though. Anyone have a website where it's listed?
So I didn't really explain it in the first post, but the concept is... what is your favorite tool you're using right now? All of our babies are our favorites, but sometimes one shines a little better than other for the project you're working on.
I'll start- my Florip dovetail saw! Got it recently after only ever using a dozuki for dovetails and joinery and I am in love with the ease of cut and finish it leaves! May have solely switched me back to western style saws(got mostly Japanese bc of price to enter originally)
Have a great Sunday everyone and I hope you all get to get into the shop today!
This is a long shot, but this has been driving me crazy. When Mike is bugging (or unbugging) Waltβs house I distinctly remember him using what I can only describe as a βpump actionβ screwdriver. He doesnβt twist it but instead pushes the screwdriver which tightens/loosens the bolts. Iβve tried looking for one of these for myself but canβt seem to find it anywhere! Does anyone know the actual name of such a screwdriver?
I would have a daughter
The funeral director was asking us what we think Mum should wear in her casket.
Mum always loved to wear sarongs (fabric wraps that go around the torso and drape downward a bit like a long skirt would), so my uncle suggested that she wear a sarong in there.
The funeral director looked a bit confused, as did some of our family members, to which my uncle added:
"What's sarong with that?"
I started laughing like an idiot. He was proud of it too. The funeral director was rather shocked. We assured her, and our more proper relatives, that Mum would've absolutely loved the joke (which is very true).
His delivery was perfect. I'll never forget the risk he took. We sometimes recall the moment as a way help cushion the blows of the grieving process.
--Edit-- I appreciate the condolences. I'm doing well and the worst is behind me and my family. But thanks :)
--Edit-- Massive thanks for all the awards and kind words. And the puns! Love 'em.
But Bill kept the Windows
True story; it even happened last night. My 5-year-old son walks up behind me and out of the blue says, "hey."
I turn to him and say, "yeah, kiddo? What's up?"
He responds, "it's dead grass."
I'm really confused and trying to figure out what's wrong and what he wants from me. "What? There's dead grass? What's wrong with that?"
.
.
.
He says, totally straight-faced, "hay is dead grass," and runs off.
And then you will all be sorry.
No it doesn't.
Now itβs syncing.
He replied, "Well, stop going to those places then!"
I will find you. You have my Word.
She said how do you know he was headed to work?
βthank you for your cervix.β
Made me smile
What do you think about the Yankee screwdriver? Do you own one? If so do you use it much?
