No onion rings in sight, Kroger, Walmart and Meijer.
Hey guys I recently had my oem chain replaced with a new RK Racing 520-112 X-ring chain at a local bike shop.
Upon inspection of the chain I see of the master link which came with 4 rings included, only 3 rings are installed.. lo and behold the idiot fucking guy that worked on my bike must've been distracted and just forgot to put the 4th ring on..
Now since it's a rivet style, I'm guessing my only option is to buy and replace the RK master link and work with the shop on reimbursing me for it.
Question: how screwed am I with 3/4 rings installed? How will this affect the chains life? Can I just say fk it and leave it alone or follow up with the idiots at the shop? I've ridden it less than a 100km since replacement and noticed the missing X-ring, rest of the chain is in perfect condition.
You pay people for their service, but still get half assed work.. BARTZ Motorcycle & Repair shop in Mississauga for anyone wondering.
Ive been looking at a 14k gold chain necklace (https://www.costco.com/14kt-yellow-gold-diamond-cut-round-box-chain.product.100388471.html) and I was tempted to buy it however I wanted to know if others have had experience with Costco's gold chains or this particular one and if it is worth it. For me worth it for this would just be if it could handle daily use and not break or and doesn't look/feel cheap.
Is there any damage or harm caused due to cross chaining while riding a bicycle : large cog to large chain ring or small cog to small chain ring . Should this be avoided while riding to avoid damage to chain or gear cassettes in the long run ?
Please and thank you build almost done.
I want to know if I need to look for specific tools for breaking and joining my chain. I know it's a DID X-ring. I came a cross a tool which seems to only work for O-ring chains - would it not work for X-rings? I gather this tool is for closing off rivets, and I can't imagine how a chain having O- or X-rings affects that at all.
On a similar note, does anybody have any recommendations for chain-related tools that I can carry around in the middle of nowhere easily but aren't really expensive? I'm seeing a lot of high prices for tools from names like Motion Pro.
I made a post a few days ago asking whether or not the rumors were true about a loss of power going from a non o-ring chain to an o or x-ring chain. A couple of Grom forums were having debates about it. I ended up purchasing this x-ring chain from ebay/amazon which is already pre cut for Groms (420 x 106 links). It came pre lubed and no chain tool was needed so it was a breeze to install. I went on a 70 mile ride last night and saw no loss of power whatsoever. I'm on a stock Grom with the exception of a 14t front sprocket.
Doesn't have to be all the items. I will trade/mule for what ever you have. I have two sl120's with plenty of items I don't use.
Crypto HEX Founder is Actually Notorious Criminal βSpam Kingβ
Richard Heart, aka Richard J. Schueler, aka, J. Richard, aka James Hart is linked to a Panama criminal network which included corrupt lawyers and judges. Heart also sold anti-aging cures in between roles as Spam King and Bitcoin thought leader. Richard Heart, founder of controversial cryptocurrency project HEX (HEX), has been outed as a former internet scammer and βSpam Kingβ.
https://techtelegraph.co.uk/crypto-hex-founder-is-actually-notorious-criminal-spam-king/
Heart now charades as a thought leader in the cryptocurrency space, but while Satoshi Nakamoto was working on Bitcoin, Heart was hocking anti-ageing remedies.
The Methuselah Foundation, for which Heart apparently volunteered, is committed to extending the human lifespan and βmaking 90 the new 50β. The video below shows Heart in between his spells as Spam King and crypto thought leader.
The cryptocurrencyβs official website even claims that the asset is βdesigned for 10,000x returns,β something that even the SEC would say fails their Howey test, which helps investors determine if an investment is too good to be true and may be a scam. link
Most recently, a Reddit user pointed out that 800 Ether tokens were withdrawn from the wallet used to store the proceeds from HEX token sale, and 770 Ether were sent to two crypto exchanges - Binance and Bitfinex.
The list goes on and on and on. All of the articles saying it isn't a scam are clearly paid for, the only SEO ranking against the coin is Reddit, luckily you can't pay for Reddit rankings. Hex even run a site saying they're not a scam, lmao imagine if any other coin did this? Massive red flags.

I have a gold chain weighing in at 10g. 14 carat, as hallmarked. Some photos included below.
I've been enquiring with two different jewellers -- both highly rated in the UK (UK jewellery award-winning) , one in B'ham's Jewellery Quarter, and the other in another city. I want to know about getting it melted and redone into two wedding bands. I've told them both that it's hallmarked as 14K, and weighs 10g. Here are their conflicting responses which I'm hoping to get to the bottom of:
B'ham Jeweller
Simple melt and roll cost: Β£120. They'll even produce 2 rings out of it for that fee, no problem. And 10g should be a comfortable amount of gold to produce two bands. These would be plain wedding bands.
They caution though (not having seen the chain) the chain probably has solder joints that will add a good deal of impurities to the ring, and that may affect the look of the rings. OR it may burn off. But they simply can't purify it. And because of this, the rings wouldn't be hallmarked in the end because apparently the Assay office wouldn't like the resulting im/purity. Sounds sketchy to the untrained (i.e. me), but again this is one of the main Jewelery Quarter businesses so I'd hope not a scam to swap out my metal?
Other Bespoke Jeweller, also in a medium-size (expensive) city in the South of the UK
They were also comfortable with making the 10g chain into 2 simple wedding bands. Looking at Β£350/ring + ~Β£60-75/ring for the Assay office fees, to get the rings hallmarked. This would likely be slightly more bespoke end product than the simply rolled band from the B'ham jeweler. While they also cautioned the possibility of impurities, the implication of quoting the Assay office fees is that they would be hallmarked.
World of a difference in costs. Before I can go back to either jeweller and ask where the differences are with the opposite jeweller, I need to better understand what the possibilities are. Can this sub help me?

I've recently cleaned and adjusted the drivetrain on my old Giant MTB and am curious if the cassette and chain rings as shown in the pics are in need of replacement?
I carefully measured chain stretch and it seems to be well within spec (I don't recall the recommended max. stretch for replacement, but recall it was about 50% of that).
Shifting chain rings is notably 'crunchy'. Shifting the cassette seems fine.
This is the only bike I've owned in a very long time, so I don't have much of a frame of reference.
Thanks!

Pictures available upon request. Happy to entertain offers but currently eyeing these games mainly.
I'm trying to take off the chain ring as a few of the teeth got bent. To get it off I am trying to take off the crank arm and chain rings but this bolt ( https://i.imgur.com/H8rdLzh.jpg ) in the picture is stuck tight. I've tried penetrating oil and WD 40 and using a make shift cheater bar. I'm rotating it in the direction of the arrow to the and loosen it. I was able to remove the other side which I did as a sanity check. Any other advice on how to get this off without damaging the bike?
I have nearly lost all hope, but I want to try every single way I can to try and get my ring back.
I moved to Ottawa yesterday, coming by plane, and as soon as I got to my hotel I realized I wasn't wearing my ring. It's a small silver chain, a bit like a necklace. It's not a "rigid" ring. I probably lost it between the plane and the place I'm staying at, because I remember playing with it during the flight.
If anyone ever finds it, please get in touch. That rings holds more meaning to me than I can put into words and altough I know it's just an object, I'm devastated that this was the first thing that happened as soon as I moved to this beautiful city.
Thank you.
