What do you think of the argument that women participated in anti suffrage movement which a lot of misogynists use to justify that why women should not be allowed to vote or have equal rights

This statement is brought up every time I have a debate with misogynists about women fighting for their rights β€˜but many women were anti feminists and that only rich white upper class women wanted voting rights’ (insert derogatory remarks about these women)

The feminist movement has long historical ties to racism. The feminist campaign for women’s suffrage had black women standing in the back of the line and made openly racist statements towards black men.

Susan B. Anthony, a prominent feminist, infamously said that she would rather cut off her arm before she ever works for or votes for a β€œnegro”-instead of a woman. Rebecca Felton, the most prominent feminist in Georgia, was a slave owner and white supremacist who referred to black men as β€œbeasts” and β€œhalf-civilized gorillas”.

>Just to name a few examples.
Even today, the feminist movement are openly advocating against the importance of due process for rape and domestic violence (a move that was historically used to get black men lynched). They pushed for β€œwomen” to be added to affirmative action-which led to white women gaining the most benefits from affirmative action. This entire epidemic of privileged, entitled, and hateful β€œKarens” is a direct product of the ideology of feminism. Yet, black women found a way in their hearts to look past it and join forces with white women and promote the very ideas that end up hurting black men on a daily basis.

So we can see that smearing MRA as racist is feminist's projection. Actually, feminists are responsible for racism but people aren't aware of it because topic isn't popular in MSM. I recommend read full article about racial issues in the MRM here. It show why we can't allow racists and alt-right hijackers in our movement, male-on-male hostility is destructive. Misandry is associated with racism.

What were some of the social changes that led to women’s suffrage being realized in the West in the early 1900s?

I’m particularly interested in the change over time in the view of women and their reasonableness and β€œfitness” to concern themselves with matters like politics.

I’d also be curious to know when women voting creased to be a deeply contentious issue in the Western World and became accepted as sort of common sense.

Many women could already vote across most of the United States long before universal women's suffrage was passed in 1920

Here's a list of US states and the status of women's suffrage in 1919 before it was ratified at a federal level:

For context, universal male suffrage was granted in 1870, one year after the first US territory gave universal suffrage to women.
