I listened to the Joe Rogan podcast with Paul Stamets where he talks about all the wonderful benefits of supplementing with mushrooms. He specifically singles out Lion's Mane as the one mushroom he would take if he could only take one.
Since I consider myself to be an intellectual equal of Mr. Rogan (aka a fucking bro retard), I decided to purchase these New Chapter Lion's Mane complex and tossem down my gullet with no additional research:
- Organic Lionβs Mane (Hericium erinaceus) (mycelia, fruiting body) 262.5 mg
- Organic Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) (mycelia, fruiting body) 112.5 mg
- Organic Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) (mycelia, sclerotium) 62.5 mg
- Organic Poria (Wolfiporia extensa) (mycelia) 62.5 mg
If I take one pill I get down, calming effect. I'm normally an anxious person so it makes me feel a little "off" but I can't describe it.
After 3-4 days of just one pill a day, the winding down effect builds up and maybe at that point i'm not quite lethargic but on that road. I stopped the pills at that point. When I get to feel that way, eventually the mood follows....it goes more the route of having the blues than it does 'calm mind'.
Anyone have any thoughts as to which mushroom is doing this and how it is acting?
Trying to determine if this bottle goes in the bin or not. My wife had a similar effect after just 2 nights of taking one pill. We're both pretty sensitive to supplements.

Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.
