LPT If a bee colony has set up a hive that you need removed, don't call the exterminator. Beekeepers will relocate the hive often for free. This is an easy way to be nice to the bees and to your wallet :)

Newbie question. Neighbor bees come and feed from the feeder I made for mine and they are really aggressive, will they harm my poor babies in the long run?
I don't know if I'm doing more harm than good by leaving the feeder out. First week I was so proud watching them get their daily syrup in total harmony, but today everything changed.
These bees are coming from like a mile away but somehow are overrunning mine. They completely took over the feeder, their buzzing is violent and my babies seem to be standing back. I saw some fighting and I don't know how much energy they are now wasting in guarding the hive when before this they seemed completely relaxed and at peace.
I wanted to make sure they could feed over the winter but i somehow created a warzone around them by doing so. What should I do, please advise π

How many bees will make it thru the winter?
As the title speaks for itself... Every other day I find more and more dead bees on my hive's entry point/shelf. I lift the quilt and candy board box to check on them, just a crack and I see them nestled in their cluster, but the winter has only just begun here on the east coast. God willing I hope they make it to spring. I've prepared the hive to the best of my knowledge and what I've learned so far in my first year of beekeeping, but the winter scares me.
Sorta just thinking out loud here, but also curious to see (not that anyone counts their bees, but how much smaller will the colony will be in March 2022 when I pop off the lid and pick where I left off?
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

How will you read Bees?
So, in a months time this sub will be deserted with us all reading like mad-people. What Iβm torn on is, in what form i want to read Bees; book or audiobook. I have limited time to sit down and read. So reading the physical book will take a LONG time (I have two small children and work as a teacher π). Which is good as it will make the experience last longer. On the other hand, with that size, i might just go mad.. So maybe audiobook is better (have listened to all the other ones).
What are you all doing? Physical book, e-book, audiobook? How much time will you have to read? Are you maybe reading together with someone? (I have no-one in my immediate vicinity who is an outlander-reader, so i only have all of you π).

Curious on how many copies of Bees will be sold in the first week?
I am older and consumed a ton of content in my life. I can say without hesitation my favorite is Outlander. More the audiobooks but also the TV show.
It makes me wonder just how many copies of the books including audio will be sold the first week?
Does anyone know of any estimates? I really do not have any idea. Are we talking 1000s? 10s of thousands? Millions?
For me I would never have found the books if not for the TV show.
The TV show is a marketing tool for the books. I know DG was probably paid well for the rights for the TV show but it also was a smart longer term move as it increased book/Audiobook sales.
I also have to say the Audiobook version of Outlander is just excellent.
