I think it was a male lesser goldfinch. The back, upper head and tail were entirely black, no lighter colors, with very even and symmetrical white patches visible on the wings when folded. I saw on all about birds that the males to the west of the Rockies can be all black without lighter colors on the nape of the neck or bleeding of the yellow. Very small bird perched on a tree in the backyard. I'm in Northwest New Mexico, close to the Colorado border along a river and the bird was spotted yesterday evening. Sorry for no pic, it was seen briefly through a window with blinds.

Skye passed away a few months ago. I can still hear her chirps and her silky white fur brush against my legs looking for pets. I always look for her in her favorite sleeping spot in the highest spot in the garage. We miss her so much. I hope your chasing birds and getting plenty of belly rubs. XOXO

Northeast Florida, sorry for the awful picture quality, bird was somewhat far away. It was pretty big, black body, white neck and head with red on its face, not a sandhill crane though, never seen this kind of bird before.

I know it's a bit grainy, but I took this with my phone through a spotting scope from 150m away. This is one of our resident White-Bellied Sea Eagles (although I believe they are actually a kite, rather than an eagle). I'm not sure if it's male or female, but I never get tired of seeing it.
Can anyone identify this bird?! Apologies for the dreadful photo. Taken in Norway - it was grey with a dark grey and white panel on the side, black beak and is a great swimmer. Kept going underwater for long periods and popping up far away. It was in a pair. Thanks in advance for your help!

Happened to spot TWO BLACK AND WHITE WARBLERS in Boston Public Garden! First time seeing one! We also saw a common yellow throat as well as a Ruby crowned kinglet and a yellow bellied sapsucker we had seen once before.
