Hi, im an electronic engineering student and im about to start developing a proyect to get my major. Im thinking on making a device wich can produce enough vibration to calibrate vibration meter instrument and which can be able to be measured in m/s2 or in g. I found an idea of using a motor controlles via arduino wich can rpm can be controlled via pwm and add an guide accelerometer module in my arduino so i can see the current acceleration before adding my device undee calibration and see that there is an uniform acceleration.

I dont know if anyone of you guys could help me with some suggestions or even critize my idea. It will help a lot.

Received my DD today and all was going well in ACC. Was just having a look through fanalab before switching to iracing when it started to make this awful sound and was shaking my desk apart (see video). Now, every time after turning on and doing the initial calibration it starts to vibrate like this. Doesn't do it if the wheel is not connected to the base and only starts when the version numbers show on the OLED.

Any suggestions before contacting fanatec?

EDIT: IIRC the wheel has motors in it for vibration feedback, so i dont know if it's actually that and not the wheel base motor??

Recently, I have been feeling like my life changed it’s vibration... I am very uncomfortable most of the time. My mood is bad, I am tired, I have a million questions with no answers :( Any advice?

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

• Aliexpress/Banggood: Here you will generally find the cheapest prices for printers (not counting shipping) and is recommended. Many brands will often have direct stores on these sites (and sometimes multiple storefronts) and it is better to buy from that. It is understandable that you may not be comfortable buying something large from these sites, but they are essentially just a Chinese version of Amazon with a bit more anarchy. They do have customer's protection to back you up.
• Amazon: Some brands such as Anycubic, Elegoo and Sovol sell directly on Amazon, and you can buy their products there. Amazon also allows for easy returns. For other brands of printers, though, they will not have direct stores on Amazon and therefore their prices may be scalped, or you may be sent a used unit that is rebranded as new.
• Direct Manufacturer: For most printers it is a bad idea to buy directly from the manufacturer/company website because you are losing a layer of customer/buyer's protection c

I got the Pixel 6 a week ago and I've been experiencing some issues with the screen responsiveness. Just wanted to survey the community to see if my unit is defective or if others are having the same issues before I decide if I should exchange or return.

1. Unresponsiveness on the upper region of the screen - I'll start with the issues I've encountered the least amount of discussions online in my research. Noticing the upper parts of the screen, (the area in front of the camera bar and above) specifically the top right and top left corners are not as responsive as the lower region of the screen. For example, in normal use I've noticed on a few occasions it would take me multiple attempts to press on a button in those regions before it registers, like pressing "Home", "Tabs", or "Settings" buttons in the Chrome app. Whereas when I'm typing on the keyboard or just pressing on anything in lower region of the screen it is a lot more consistent. I do not have a screen protector on and I have turned on "Increase touch sensitivity" in the Display setting.
2. Screen waking up extremely easily - I understand when you pick up the phone, it senses movement, and the phone should wake in AMOLED mode (where the screen is all black except for the time, date, and notification icons which are all in white). However, I'm noticing is waking up in AMOLED mode to the smallest of vibrations. For example, I have the phone in a case (Caseology Vault Protective Case) resting on a phone stand on my desk and these following actions would wake the screen:
   - Standing up and to step away from the desk
   - Lightly resting my elbows on the desk after I finish typing an email
   - Lightly placing anything on the desk
   - Walking back to my desk (perhaps the vibration of my footsteps or opening/closing the door)
   I fully understand this is a very minor nuisance, but is irritating cause I normally only check my phone during work hours when it wakes to notifications from texts/calls/emails and getting all these pointless (false notifications) wake of the screen is very distracting. I'm just not sure if this was intended or is my unit just extra sensitive. Note: I do not have "Lift to check phone" turned on in the Gestures setting.
3. Finger print unlock inconsistencies - These are the more common issues I've read discussions about. The finger print reader is very inconsistent/inaccurate. For example, it is very common for my finger print to not get recognized on the first attempt (

So let me preface by saying, Yes-- I know it's older than sliced bread, but I hate to see old hardware dead and forgotten.

Anyways, I have a gen-1 yttrium consolidator using original twandle rings, original PK-Tannen tube mufflers and the ol' trusty 8-trandium processing unit from the early years. When I engage the deep spatial matrix toggle, I get a deep humming noise and it shakes my whole house and radiates a slihht purple hazy glow on the PK-Tannen mufflers. I've had it running smoothly before and I haven't changed anything. I assumed it had a carbon build-up, but this thing is spotless.

Any suggestions?

In addition to the previously listed things there was also a bunch of housekeeping and documentation improvements done.

1. Use the online manual when building your kit. There are comments with very helpful info for most steps. Goes without saying but be detailed oriented, pay attention and do things the way they are instructed. Do not improvise.

2. Have you tried turning it off and on again?

3. After running the built-in first layer calibration, print a 1 layer 50x50 square and dial in the calibration. Change the z offset halfway, compare, then repeat until it looks perfect.

4. Make sure the print bed is clean, #1 problem with bed adhesion is oil from your skin and dust. Alcohol won’t get rid of the oil, only warm soapy water will. Alcohol is necessary between prints, but only need to wash when you notice oily film or have adhesion problems.

5. Get your grub screws properly tight. Then get your belts dialed in. Use the built in Prusa tension test and their recommended numbers.

6. Is it supposed to sound like that? Usually, yes, it’s normal. Depending on where you put it harmonic vibrations can make it sound louder. Something heavy layered with something spongy will quiet it down.

7. Model night slicing right? Right click and run Fix it through Netfab. Details still not showing? Check detect thin walls in the settings.

8. Changing the way your model is oriented can be very helpful. Reduce support needs, make your model stronger, reduce print times.

9. Model details are limited by layer height only in the Z axis. Reduce layer height or change model orientation to add detail.

10. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, people are overwhelmingly helpful in this subreddit.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

Early days

This journey began roughly a year ago for me. I had actively avoided investing in stocks, mostly due to fear of the unknown and being fiscally conservative with my money.  I stuck with an IRA, ETF, and bought my first house. The things that bring value over time with little risk. I still have all the above but I was missing something.

In February, I came across about 5 or 6 young coworkers who convinced me to invest in stocks. I decided to start out with 10,000 dollars, and quickly filled my portfolio with the usual suspects: MSFT, Pfizer, Disney. I eventually decided it was time to take a risk and branch out to a small cap tech stock. By chance, just after I made this decision, I happened to catch an episode of my favorite show, "Expedition Unknown" with Josh Gates. As Gates was searching for ruins in South America, his team employed a helicopter with a Lidar to scan the jungles for man-made formations (for the curious it was a Velodyne Lidar).

Researching and a decision

I am a very singularly focused individual, and this chance encounter sparked a massive (editor's note: obsessive) deep-dive into Lidar technology, and I ended up honing in on automotive Lidar. To my reading, Lidar seemed unquestionably the key to unlocking autonomous driving and the field seemed ripe for explosive growth in the near future. Since everyone wants to find the next Google stock, I made a list of pro's and con's for each company in the field. When I came across Luminar it was the first time I could not find a con. It was love at first buy for me, so I added it to the portfolio. Time went on, Luminar fluctuated, and in April, I heard a podcast that would change my strategy on everything. Jordan Belfort was talking about investing and success, but one quote hit me: "There are people that let life happen to them, and there are people that make life happen." From that very point on I decided to make a change in my ways and to try to help make things happen for Luminar and myself.

I have a Aya Neo 2021 Pro and have noticed an issue with the left joystick. There is what I think is a deadzone around the upper-left region of the joystick where it does not respond to input as it should. For example, when playing a game, I can push the joystick as far as it can in the upper-left direction, but the player character will not be sprinting as it should, but will be walking instead. It is definitely ruining my gameplay experience!

In terms of trying to fix the issue:

• I have downloaded the AYANEO 2021 series controller firmware (v303) and have calibrated the joysticks multiple times, but that has not resolved the issue. I’ve even tried making a smaller circle with the left joystick to avoid the deadzone during calibration, but that only fixes the issue for a few seconds of gameplay (and then the Aya neo vibrates, potentially to indicate that the joystick automatically re-calibrated).
• Reinstalling Windows 10 and the drivers (as provided on the Aya Neo website) has not helped either.
• I’ve also tried calibrating the controller in Steam, but, alas, that did not help either.

At this point, it feels like a hardware issue, but I’m waiting to hear back from the Aya Neo team on next steps. Can here anyone suggest any other things I might try in case it is a software issue? Thanks so much!!

EDIT: To clarify, I have tried calibrating the sticks by rebooting the aya neo and continuously rotating each analog stick to the outer edges of their range until the device reaches the login screen, but this has not helped.

Also, according to an update posted on Aya Space, we can also calibrate without rebooting by pressing the view button+ABXY until the machine vibrates, rotating the sticks, and then pressing the triggers three times to finish the calibration. I have tried that and it does not fix the left joystick issue.
