A list of puns related to "Venereology (album)"
It's such a creepy cover, and mysterious as well.
Azerbaijanis are extremely uninformed about diseases including syphilis, Hepatitis, HIV
Sex education is limited to "use condom" rule.
We have only one HIV center which is in Baku and literally HIV positive people living in other regions have to visit Baku every month to get meds (while the whole world gives meds to HIV positive people as a 6 months package at once, our doctors refuse giving free meds for several months to patients without bribing).
Today, most HIV positive people in Azerbaijan are straight men and their wives and children, and often they find out about their status when they reach AIDS stage and get dangerous opportunistic diseases like cancer, tuberculosis etc. Some people die from opportunistic diseases at early age even without realizing that AIDS was a hidden reason for the disease.
Some people refuse to get HIV treatment because they are afraid of facing social stigma. HIV treatment in Azerbaijan includes taking one pill a day and easier controlled than most other chronic diseases, such as diabetes. With treatment, HIV positive people can live a long healthy life. Today, HIV positive people in Azerbaijan suffer not from the virus itself but social stigma, especially women. Thus, most HIV positive people don't know about their status. Edit: AIDS isn't a death sentence anymore and can be healed (i.e turned back into HIV just within 6-12 months).
Hepatitis (B/C) doesn't have distinct symptoms before passing to the late stages which is one step to cirrhosis and/or liver cancer. Around 90% Hepatitis positive people don't know about their virus! Hepatitis B can be totally healed within 2-6 months, Hepatitis C can be controlled and frozen like HIV. All people (especially, sexually active ones) are recommended to get vaccinated against Hepatitis C every five years.
That's why for everyone, it is extremely important to pass medical checkup at least twice a year. However, in Azerbaijan checkups aren't popular and most people visit doctors because "it already hurts".
Edit: People taking HIV treatment get "undetectable status" within 2-18 months. Undetectable status means that virus load is so low that it doesn't affect the body anyhow. Moreover, people with undetectable status cannot transmit HIV to other people even during unprotected sex. HIV and Hepatitis positive people can have healthy families, healthy children and continue their lives if they get a proper treatment.
Our society should fight these diseases, but not be scared o

Venereology is one of my favourite merzbow albums. Slave New Desart is possibly the best merzsong. I wish i could find more vocal merzbow albums. the closest i found is called "world record" by various artists
The tracking report keeps saying βoh, itβs halfway thereβ
In my experience, most double albums, even the uber-famous ones like Tommy and The Wall, are seen as being overstuffed. Can yβall think of any double albums that arenβt βclassic single album + albumβs worth of fillerβ and are actually really high quality the whole way through?
Any genre of music
My personal pick is Rage against the machine 4 studio albums all packed with jams
For me what comes to mind is The End on My Chemical Romanceβs Black Parade. Also on Fun.βs album Some Nights, Some Nights(intro).
Edit: so so so many good songs, great job everyone!
Edit 2: this is going to make a helluva playlist

So, like most people, I heard Weezer songs growing up, but it wasn't till recently that I truly got into them. Before hearing this album, I had heard four tracks from it. My Name Is Jonas, Buddy Holly, Undone (The Sweater Song), and Say It Ain't So. This album has been considered one of the best to come out in the 1990's (Along with Dookie by Green Day, Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt, and Nevermind by Nirvana, all of which I love and have listened to), and now I know why. Like, holy shit, this album is good. Every song on it is fantastic. Usually when I listen to albums, it takes me multiple listens to know if I like it. This time, that's not the case. Undone (The Sweater Song) is my favorite from the album but as I said, every song on here is great. I'm wondering what the people here think of this album, like, what's your memories associated with it, and what's your personal opinion on it? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
Letβs try to limit the discussion to things that dropped at least a couple years ago, so that we have the actual benefit of time and perspective
It's been a month now since I rushed out to target to buy Adele's 30 CD with the bonus tracks.
I got home played it once and then played it again the next day... and I haven't played it since. 19,21,25 I have played over and over and over when I got them. 19 was the best of all since it was unique and offered a flavor Adele hasn't returned too. 21 & 25 could have been a double CD on the same album. Same type of songs and themes. They had her biggest hits we all know them. I enjoyed them both but for 6 years of listening to them. 30 should have been an entirely different Adele experience.
It simply wasn't. It was literally just more of the same but not as ground breaking or amazing as the previous two albums were. I don't know maybe the Adele flavored gum in my mouth has lost it's flavor but I haven't had any desire to hear 30 again. It has a few good songs ( I liked about two of them) but nothing I felt I wanted to listen to on repeat like I did the other Albums. Even the bonus tracks that came on my Target CD were kind of so so.
Being an actual fan of Adele this album to me was not worth a 6 year wait. It sounded like something he could have thrown together in a weekend. There was literally no new vibe on this album. Same broken hearted wailing over a piano. Is it really so hard for her to work with producers that make different music? or even other artists? Even a track with Adele and the Weeknd, or Sia or Lady Gaga or anybody else would have blown my mind and given me a break from the same old tired lost my love tracks.
Some new instruments...? Maybe some 808 drums. A Moog, a Prophet 5.... just introduce some new sounds to your music please.
The praise I've seen this album get is a head scratcher for me. This is not a ground breaking album and it's the weakest offering. An album that took 6 years to put out should sound freaking Amazing. Every track should be a hit. This Album just sounds like songs they found under a couch in her mansion. I really really really was hoping this Album would have been where Adele either went back to the 19 mindset and experimented with her voice and music and gave us a fresh new Adele... but it wasn't. It was literally 30 Adele with a Tired and Old sound.
I thought this album would grow on me but I've personally had no desire to even add it to my playlist. I enjoyed "To be Loved". Best song on there imo but again that could have fit right on the sounds from 21 or 30.
I can't be the only one noticing this can
... keep reading on reddit β‘Super vague, I know. My dad died of covid-19 this past November 18th, and a good friend committed suicide on January 5th. (Additionally I'm going through the breakup of an engagement in the middle of all of this, but I don't really want any break-up songs.) There's been a ton of change in my life lately, and I'm kinda grasping right now. I'll take any recommendations for music that explores death, or is vaguely related, or just has a similar vibe.
Edit: There are so many! From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who commented. I want to make a playlist with all the suggestions and listen through them, so I may possibly comment in three months (or years) time saying I appreciated your suggestion. Truly, thank you.
Additionally, as long as it doesn't break the subs rules, I wanted to talk briefly about my friend. I knew that she dealt with depression, but I had no idea it was as severe as it was. After she died, I learned that she thought that the people around her were strong enough to handle the pain of her death, but she didn't think she could handle her pain any more. I honestly don't know what's more selfish, us wanting her to stay, or her wanting to go. I do know that her mother sobbing at her coffin side was the most heartbreaking thing I've ever heard, and she didn't have the best relationship with her mom/family.
If you are considering suicide, know that you will be sorely missed, beyond anything I previously was able to fathom. There's a dad-shaped hole and a friend-shaped hole in my heart that will never go away. Even if I don't know you, DM me and I will talk to you. <3
it can be any genre
Iβm thinking Bostonβs first is up there and hard to beat, but we all know there are numerous others. Chime in!
Itβs called βDairy of a Madmanβ
Iβm gonna pick Igor
