A list of puns related to "V Recordings"
Hello,
I have a lot of productions asking me to deliver ProRes 422. I am having trouble figuring out which settings are best for recording on the Ninja V+ out of my FX6. The 12-bit raw coming out of the SDI on the camera is obviously the highest quality output form the camera, but the Atomos will only record this in ProRes raw, which I cannot deliver to my clients as it does not fit into their workflow. Has anyone figured out best practices for this? Thank you!
UPDATE: In case someone stumbles across this post later on, here is what I've found after some tinkering. Below are the 3 modes of outputting images from the FX6, and what you're able to do with those signals with the FX6:
Personally, I've decided to stick with the regular SDI output for these requests. Most of what I'm doing is doc-style TV shows so I rarely need high frame rates. When I do, 60fps should suffice. Hope this helps someone!
Iβm considering buying a ninja v for my GH5. Considering getting a 1 TB drive for it. How long can I record with that?
Also, is there a recording time left indicator on the Ninja V, similar to on the GH5 itself?
Hey everyone! I recently purchased a Ninja V for my SOny FX3 and it seems like when I have my camera shooting 60 Fps the ninja v is not recording the correct frame rate. When I slowed down the clips in Davinci Resolve (under clip attributes, I always use 30fps timeline for main video and than slow down the clip in clip attributes) the clips are stuttering like they are missing frames. Any ideas or correct settings I should check?
So I've been looking for a little while, and I'm pretty sure this has popped into my head from the Bryan Gee, V Recordings Podcast (because I feel like I remember him ducking the track to talk about it). I'm having memories of him saying "Alibi" or "Akuna" when ducking the track, but that could be very wrong.
Vocals are almost certainly "pleeeeeeaaaase don't treat me so bad" with I think female vocalist and she sounds like she's running scales on the "please" and there's very little other sound underneath the vocals.
But then it breaks open and "bad" gets chopped up a whole bunch into "ba-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a" with a lot of very snare focused beats and effects sound like it's panning back and forth very quickly.
I'm not complaining that Bryan's doing twice as many podcasts now as he was before, but it does make it challenging to go back and find tracks that get stuck in your head after the fact. Took me about a couple hours to go back and find that unreleased Maverick Soul track, "Let You Go" when that got stuck in my head, but before I IDed it.
Thanks all!
There was a robot voice saying "Now Recording" in episode 3 of the new Civ Series.

I presume it's an accident left from their recording program or the game, but it freaked me out for a solid minute. I thought some malware might have been recording me. Does anyone know where it came from?
When you think about it, the name UVB76 might come from the fact that its first recording ever is in 1976 (the video claims it this way)

a comment also claims that the recorder was the commenter's uncle and the station used to be called UYT-76
Just reading through various reports following a SAR, and I'm on a report titled 'Social Work Recording', section 2a if that helps, from back in 2003.
Report starts 'H/V to [redacted]', guessing fellow Social Workers as I don't recognize the initials. Pretty sure it says H/V, happy to include an Imgur link if people aren't sure. Any help would be great, thank you!
Hey... very basic question here. I'm in an indie rock band. I've dabbled in very basic recording at home using Studio One to get scratch tracks for songs to share with bandmates and to write our material. I am in no way an expert. Recently, we've amassed over 40 minutes of material and would like to record an EP or LP with a more polished sound than what we currently have.
I'm not sure what we need exactly, or what we need to be looking for in a recording studio. I understand the difference between mixing and mastering, but not fully clear on the difference between production and these two things. For instance, if we wanted someone who would have access to quality plugins to use certain reverbs or delays, to know when and how to pan things properly, when to double track or not, etc., is that something an audio engineer will do for us in the recording studio if we pay for their presence while we record? Or, do we need to be looking specifically for a producer elsewhere to hire? And, if so, is there a particular place we should be looking for a producer?
If you use the app V recorder before using snap chat to record material will it notify them if video revording??? It's an app in Google play...cause if not I got good stuff to share boys
PS: I'm not trying to do this for yt clout. It's just that, teaching on YouTube, a public platform, would, IMO, significantly help my learning (see- Feynman Technique) as it'd force me to articulate my thoughts and understanding.
Now, as for my dilemma -
Of course, iPad would be significantly more expensive but I'd use it for so much more than just the study videos. I have been considering an iPad for general purposes for a while anyway.
Now, what I want to know, which writing and overall experience would be smoother? Sreen recording microsoft OneNote for ex on my laptop, using a writing pad? Or Screenrecording an app like Notability on an iPad using the apple pencil?
Would love to hear your inputs
Hello! I'm new here in the group. I have a silly question and I'm hoping for answers. Is it possible to record 6k open gate 10 bit 4:2:2 straight out of the Blackmagic recorder or the Atomos ninja? I would've loved to use the S1H without relying on the external recorders but their 6k open gate modes are only at 4:2:0. It would be nice to be able to record them in 4:2:2
So I'm wondering if it's possible if this can be done in the Atomos or Blackmagic recorders? I don't want to use the braw or prores raw option. Getting the 422 10 bit would be enough. Would it be a true 4:2:2 10 bit or a fake 4:2:2 10 bit?
Alternatively, if this is not possible, would it suffice if I shoot in 6k open gate at 4:2:0 and oversampling it to a lower resolution? Will there be there chances of increasing the chroma sampling to this?
Hey guys!
I've done everything to connect my camera to the Atomos Ninja and are filming externally on the monitor in Pro Res Raw, however when I transfer the footage to my computer the recorded footage is colourful! How do I record footage that is actually raw and desaturated? Film with a flat profile so I can colour grade it later I mean
I've been using panasonic GH3 + Elgato Camlink, and while the quality is far better than a regular webcam, I am noticing that I get a lot more grain on the film than I would if I was to record directly with the DSLR.
Is this quality loss expected whenever capturing from DSLR, or am I just having some issues?
