A list of puns related to "UnityPoint Health"
Was looking at taking a contract here in the ICU was wondering if anyone has been at this hospital or in ICU there. Any tips with where to live, what to expect in the hospital, and if youβve skied there (was looking at seven oaks) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
You heard it here first.
So I have a prescription for Xanax, (Sometimes I get nervous when I get on airplanes....), and with my last refill request I got a call from my UnityPoint affiliated care provider. They are now using controlled substance contracts in what seems to be a reaction to the opioid crisis. They will not refill my medication unless I submit a urine test (which I have to pay for) and complete a Controlled Substance Medication Agreement.
The contract is almost 3 pages long, some of the highlights...
I wont go to other doctors for the same perscription.
I will allow my provider to check my urine or blood to see what drugs I'm taking and I cover the costs.
I wont share, sell or trade my drugs.
I wont take anyone else's perscriptions.
I wont use illegal drugs (meth, marjijuana, cocaine, heroin, pcp, lsd, etc).
Many other items which lead up to...
If I dont do these things, my provider can refuse to refill my scripts, refuse to give me medical care, or send me to drug/alcohol treatment.
I understand something needs to be done regarding the opioid issue in the country, but this seems a bit heavy handed. I feel like I'm being accused of being a drug addict just to get a prescription.
Anyone else run into this yet? If not, be prepared...
The letter says they fell for a phishing email and the following information was accessed:
Address, date of birth, medical record number, medical information, treatment information, surgical information, diagnosis, lab results, medications, providers, dates of service and insurance information
The go on to say that the following have NOT been accessed:
Social security number, drivers license number and Medicare ID
What the hell can we do? Is this not a big deal?!? It happened on May 31, 2018.
I dedicate this to the antiwork community. 1 small victory at a time. United we are strong!
They don't know it yet, but me and my buddy just got hired on with a different company. Without us, they literally don't have a business going. Not an exaggeration. They haven't had anyone apply to job openings, and work staff has declined from 12 to 3 of us. Only 3 of us, doing the work of 12, for years now.
For months we've asked for raises after years of stagnant wages, working through the pandemic, expecting us to wrap our lives around work. Always met with excuses about It's not in the budget.
We're putting in our 2 weeks notice days apart from each other. When I put in mine, all of a sudden, money magically appeared in the budget to keep us. This pissed my boss off, because he really believed they didn't have the money. Told them, if we both leave, he's leaving too! My boss has never lied to me in 8 years of knowing him.
So come Monday, they have less than 2 weeks to figure out how to hire a new staff, get everyone up to speed including training, and pray there are no major hiccups, all while the holidays are approaching.
Only reason I'm staying my full 2 weeks, I want to see it go down :) see what carrots they'll try to dangle to keep us, and the looks on their faces as I repeatedly decline each offer.
All inspired from this community. Thank you for sharing your struggles. Letting me know I'm not alone.
Edit: Wow! Totally wasn't expecting this go anywhere. I usually am the commenting, never posting. Thank you all for your support, shared struggles, and taking the time to read.
Yes, I am a real person, and this isn't a throw away account. Everything is absolutely true, and only posted after knowing my buddy was secure in his position of leaving. I purposefully left out key things like company name, State it's in, or other easily identifying info because it's the internet. While many support aspects antiwork, we may not all support it in the same way. Even notified that this post was reported to the Reddit crisis center.
To those leaving negative even hateful comments, why? Have your tactics to improve your working conditions actually worked? Just because I took a different course of action than you would have, I'm in the wrong? Please stop the pissing contest. While each industry, and job has unique challenges. Deplorable working conditions, are NOT a contest or a badge of honor.
If anything, this should be renamed to: After years of Piss poor mana

I would like to begin by discussing my sudden turn from banal shitposting to attempting to engage with Stupidpol more critically. Why is this? Why can this matter?
It is primarily due to the tenor of Stupidpol these days, particularly in regards to our usual pet issue of βRightoid Creep.β What are the criticisms of this Rightoid Creep? That they derail discussion, exacerbate reactionary tendencies and degrade the Marxist character of this sub. Many claim that we are past the point of no return.
I disagree. The Rightoids are not a problem, but rather there must be a certain amount of βRightoid Repellantβ that functions in the same manner that our anti-IdPol stance acts as a βLibtard Repellantβ.
How does one create a Rightoid repellant?
By posting theory. They donβt read this stuff and think weβre fucking stupid for trying to use it.
Further, I am hoping that my feeble attempts to create, repurpose and interpret theory will inspire more of you to do the same. Increasing our high effort posts will have the effect of reinvigorating our Marxist character, as well as signal to those who come here for the βdunking on liberalsβ that this sub allows for that this is a Marxist subreddit first and foremost.
Our disagreement with IdPol stems from several places; the chief criticism we have to level against it, is that it is Identity Essentialist and thus inherently counter-Revolutionary.
Our disagreement with IdPol is not that we want to be chauvinist misogynists, that we want to be virulent racists, that truly all we desire is an excuse to make fun of βminoritiesβ and so on and so forth.
It is my hope that through these theory posts we can reaffirm our commitment to these ideological positions.
This does bring us, then, to the actual topic of this post.
What makes a class Revolutionary?
Further, what does it mean to be reactionary? What creates this social phenomenon?
Building off of these questions, how can we determine the Revolutionary or reactionary character of classes, and how can we use this in the project of building an actually existing socialist American state?
βββββββββββββββ
Let us begin with the question of what makes a class Revolutionary. This is, in many ways, Marxism 101 but I believe it is important to discuss. First, I appreciate theory that addresses all of the claims it makes wi

Why do people say they're right-wing and also support anti-work? It was the right-wing who has got us here.
Some context - This is going to be UK-centric and guess what, I don't really care.
In the UK the major right-wing party the Conservative party, a party run by the rich for the rich, have been screwing over the workers for decades yet many working class people still vote for them. Why? Propaganda. The tory party is massively funded by the rich. In the UK the biggest pro-right-wing rag tabloids are run by billionaires (see the Sun and Daily Mail) and people have fallen victim to their propaganda. If you support anti-work yet still support these right-wing politics you HAVE fallen victim to their propaganda.
Now let's look at the left. We've got parties like labour (in the name) with Jeremy Corbyn massively supporting workers (before dumbass starmer came in), British communist party - constantly pushing for more and more worker rights, SNP - consistently pushing for a higher living wage, better standard of living and the Scottish Socialist Party - Another party pushing for better standards such as a 15 pound minimum wage.
Now do the right-wingers want any of this? No. They want to compound their wealth and keep it away from you the worker. It looks as if the tories are trying to end universal health care in the UK. It seems to be moving towards privatisation, another way to hurt the workers and put them deep in debt. This is just one example.
If you're anti-work and a right-winger, congrats you're half of the way there. You still have a bit of the way to go. Cast off your shackles. I literally do not care about separation, workers solidarity or any of this other shit people are bound to come out with. The left has always been about the workers. That's the whole fucking point of the left-wing, socialism is to benefit the workers. It is literally centred around better worker rights...
The right-wing has no place in an anti-work subreddit due to their constant record of oppression of worker rights and if you still think you do, then you've fallen victim to their propaganda.
Also American democrat neoliberals aren't left-wing. They're right-wing.
Introducing the Orchid Thornreaper!
You may remember the other artwork for the class by user Xephan_GR: https://preview.redd.it/pl5fxygc5gz61.jpg?width=2480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2d6e7ff37e1f153cb02c329417ba8e9994e18fa1
The Orchid Thornreaper has medium-high health, 11 cards and the major themes are two-step element use, AOE attacks, retaliating semi-tank, and hazardous terrain placement and interactions. It roughly operates at Cragheart speeds, and hopefully feels a little familiar to Cragheart players in general. You will likely also notice that as the class levels up, the feel of it changes more than most classes, so that playing at level 1 can feel quite different from playing at high levels, as the class eessentially grows into some of its skills.
This has been through extensive testing by many different players predominatly in the CCUG (Gloomhaven custom content unity guild on Discord) and has been through many revisions and tweaks over the course of a year.
The challenge/puzzle of playing this class really is mastering the two-step element system and, predominantly at higher levels, making the most out of hazardous terrain, both offensively and defensively.
The class includes a Spotlight Scenario (which may be added to available scenarios as soon as a player reaches level 5), reward item, and two personal quests for unlocking the class.

At some point soon, I will add copies of all the files with bleed, for use with professional printer. But on that note, I want to mention that I do not encourage any

But where did this phrase come from? Contrary to popular belief, Jinnah never once uttered this phrase, and neither did the Muslim League. As Joseph Goebbels once famously said, βif you repeat a lie often enough it becomes the truthβ.
Letβs just put this into perspective and assume for one minute that Pakistan was indeed βmade in the name of Islamβ. Okay, now ask yourself these questions:
Why was Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, Majlis-e-Ahrar-ul-Islam and Jamaat-e-Islami opposed to Pakistan's independence in 1947?
Why did Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, Majlis-e-Ahrar-ul-Islam and Jamaat-e-Islami refer to Pakistan as βNajistanβ and Muhammad Ali Jinnah as βKafir-e-Azamβ?
Have any of our Islamist friends, right wing conservatives or fake nationalists (Al Bakistanis) ever dared to answer these questions? Of course not β rather they do what all other brainwashed sheep do β they simply ignore the obvious. What's even more disheartening is the fact Pakistan Studies refuses to even acknowledge this point (more on that later).
In order to understand what the argument here is, we need to understand the difference between a Muslim country and an Islamic country.
Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the Muslim League were Muslim nationalists and not Islamists; hence they were fighting for a country whereby Muslims could live in freedom without suffering from second-class treatment, as had become the norm under the British Raj following the failure of the 1857 War of Independence.
An ISLAMIC country, or "Islamic Republic", is a nation whereby civil and common laws are based strictly on the Islamic Sharia code, and imposed forcibly on its citizens. All matters relating the economic, religious and cultural matters are handled through an appointed Mullah or an elected council of Mullahs. Personal independence of individuals is significantly curtailed in these countries and consumption and sale of alcohol, idol-worship, non-Islamic clothing, blasphemy and apostasy would be considered illegal. Such countries that mimic this concept include Saudi Arabia and Iran.
A MUSLIM country is a nation whereby civil and common laws are based loosely on Islamic values and principles β hence Sharia is not imposed forcibly on its citizens. Modern democratic values are promoted an

There are games where gameplay is rote and the story is the main appeal (Ace Attorney, Undertale).
There are games that received mixed reception back in the day, but are more fondly acknowledged now (New Vegas, Earthbound).
AC Unity fails in both plot and gameplay and has not improved with age. It looks a stunner but it is not enjoyable to play outside of parkouring around Paris.
THE PREMISE
You play Arno "Pisspot" Dorian, the son of a murdered Assassin and adopted son of a murdered Templar. The dead Assassin dad drew the short straw because Arno is solely on a quest to avenge the latter. Follow Arno as he picks off Templar players in 1790's Paris so he can impress his girlfriend. Also the French Revolution happens.
CONTENT BREAKDOWN:
32 Main Missions. It's arranged into 12 chapters but the campaign is deceptively short.
18 Co-op Missions. I played none of these.
114 Side Missions.
500+ Collectibles cramped into 2.5 square-miles. Seriously this game has a terminal case of Map Cancer.
THE GREATEST FLAW
Unity has three legs: Parkour, Combat, and Stealth. The problem is that both Combat and Stealth are busted.
Combat feels like it's going in slow-motion underwater, yet paradoxically set on fast-forward at the same time. It never feels right and it looks like a bloody pantomine. You can strike, dodge, and parry but there's no rhythm to it.
I hate the fact that you can be attacked while walking the street. In EVERY prior AC game, hostile enemies only ever attacked you because of a mission or because you were trespassing. Fuck, make that every decent open-world game. It's annoying as hell to have the suspicion radar ping because you had the audacity to walk out in public.
This game does not need more combat, there's no point to it. There's no EXP or valuable resources to be had, nor is this the kind of game to have diverse enemy-types.
GUNNERS
You will curse these enemies. When stealth is broken you can be mobbed by a dozen plus dudes, and the dudes that hang in the back will shoot you from afar. There is no mook chivalry like previous AC games and you will likely be shot to pieces. It may be realistic but it's no fun whatsoever. When you try running away they'll still shoot at you and be annoyingly persistent to shake off.
SNEAKING

It was written by two folks, one of which is David Sirota. David was Bernie Sandersβ speech writer during his 2020 campaign.
Our leaders have failed us just like the fictional leaders in this movie. The scientific community is ringing every alarm about climate change. Once the tropics reach the Wet Bulb Temperature for humanity, they will be a death-zone. Large regions of the tropics will be uninhabitable - soon. Weβre so fucked.
But are we doing anything about it? #No
Billionaires like Gates, Bezos, Musk, and 100s of old fucks youβve never heard of are laughing all the way to the bank. They are willing to sacrifice workers, even entire countries, for the imaginary thing we call money.
We cannot continue to stand by as our home is ravaged for fake people points. We deserve clean air and water. They have no right to do that to us. The economy is a SHAM. We are all slaves.
Workers of the world, stop this madness. We control our fate, but we have to look up. We have to see the forest for the trees. We have to say enough is enough. We have to prevent our own destruction.
The economy/capitalism is anti-humanity. We must save ourselves.
We have to stop consuming mindlessly. Stop buying junk on the internet. Boycott as many corporations as you can manage. Workers around the world need to strike, and we need to support them. Continued compliance with our overlords will be our downfall.

I would like to bring forth what is basically a proposal for a Harrington rework. The objective here is to provide a good groundwork to build up a better Harrington than currently exists. First I will explain why I feel Harrington himself is lacking.
^(A brief note before I start, I have used some alternative NPP names and RD names for this, and that's because a lot of this development was done in the "The Union Forever" server. They have a few alternatives and lore changes. So you will say RD-D/RD-C, basically meaning democrats or conservatives, or NPPFR/NPPR which similarly just refers to the Far Right or the Right. Generally I went with the TNO base version, followed by the TNO TUF version, but my focus is working on this with the assumption that this rework can fit into the Vanilla. It's just TUF is very America-centric (it is literally a TNO United States submod) and provides a good base to help consider and learn about American politicians. Thanks to them for their advice in making this.)
Currently Harrington is I think portrayed in a somewhat bizarre manner. The man is portrayed as a radical just short of the NPPL, and only short by means of his emphasis on peaceful reform over violent revolution (a dubious distinction as well, given the NPPL though extreme, are also electoralists). He is certainly portrayed as very extreme, but as others on this reddit have noted, his programs barely go as far, in some places even short of figures like RFK, or Goldwater, who are liberals. He does not do much to build a meaningful socialism either, only really working on destroying poverty.
While that is commendable, it was not the only thing he did or worked for. He even feared that his legacy would be known solely by him being "the man who discovered poverty." Even more bizarre than this however, is how much backlash this all has, Harrington can break American society, cause Yockeys to roam the streets, lead America into the years of Lead, all while doing less in 8 years than LBJ can accomplish in four.
So, for this, I wanted to accomplish two main things.
Harrington can best be understood as a genteel labor socialist,

28.1 Update notes have been added to the bottom of the post.
I played a total of 49 games this year, among them were some of the best I've ever played that easily found their way onto my favorite video games of all-time list. What follows is each game with a rating out of 10 and some of my thoughts on what I liked and didn't like about each one. Hope you enjoy and let me know what you think!
Aggelos (Switch) 6.5/10
Nice little retro inspired 2D action platformer with light metroidvania qualities. It looks good, has a nice soundtrack, and controls really well. Some of the bosses are a bit tough and dying at them can be a bit punishing. Not having an actual map really makes the backtracking and looking for items extremely frustrating.
Assassin's Creed Unity (Xbox One) 7/10
I had never played an Assassin's Creed game before but wanted to try out a game in the series. I was able to get this for about $1 and loved the setting of Revolutionary Paris so I was excited to get started. Since this is the 8th installment in a huge franchise, the playstyle is already well established and can be a bit difficult for a newcomer like myself to get into at first which was definitely true here. After wrapping my head around the controls and gameplay structure, I really got into it. Exploring the city and being put in cool situations where you have to kill someone and escape was extremely entertaining for me and never got to be too much. Highlights include the sewer mission as well as climbing the Eiffel Tower.
Battletoads (Xbox One) 7/10
Took a really dated and impossibly hard franchise and brought it into the modern world with this latest entry. I enjoy all the variety (beatemup, warioware like mini-games, schmup, platformer, puzzles, turbo tunnel) as well as the voice acting/story which is a bit cheesy but in a saturday morning cartoon kind of way. Some parts are tough but not unreasonably so.
Blasphemous (Switch) 8/10
Great metroidvania with a unique setting and themes that sets it apart from others. It's definitely on the harder side (especially for me when I went down a harder path before I was supposed to) but it gets more manageable once you get used to the combat and are able to get some much needed upgrades. Speaking of the combat, it's more deliberate than other metroidvanias so you have to be more considerate of dodging and countering which at times can slow the pace down but also supplies more of a challenge.
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 (Switch) 6.5/10
