background: The legendary “battleship” herself, Samuel B Roberts is known for earning that title in one of the most epic ways possible. She, however, was not born with the title of battleship. She wasn’t even a battleship by ship class to begin with. Samuel B Roberts was a destroyer escort of the John C. Butler class. As a destroyer escort, she was doomed to be just there to escort around convoys and escort carriers. She was commissioned in April 28 1944 and joined the pacific fleet on August 10 1944. She then conducted exercises around the Hawaiian islands and escorted convoys around the area. She then went on the join Taffy 3 as a destroyer escort. She would spend almost a month counting planes coming and going until the fateful day of October 25, 1944. That day, Roberts charged an entire enemy fleet with Heermann and Hoel after the Johnston. Roberts first went on a torpedo run against Choukai. One of the torpedos blew off the Choukai’s stern. Roberts then went on to maul the Choukai’s superstructure with her AA guns before moving on to the Chikuma. Roberts set the bridge of the Chikuma on fire and destroyed her number 3 turret. She landed around 600 hits on the Chikuma. After mauling the Chikuma, Roberts was jumped by 4 IJN Battleships including Yamato and had to be abandoned after taking multiple shells from the battleships. That day, she has earned the title of “the destroyer escort that fought like a battleship.”

to the last shell: at the beginning of a sortie, Roberts starts with AP shells regardless of equipment. Every 10s, Roberts switches to HE shells, then AA shells, then Star shells, then back to AP shells and restarting the cycle.

AA shells: armor mods: 80-70-40. Increases ship’s AA damage. Fires incredibly quickly and make black puffs of smoke.
