There is virtual librarian job posting through ALA Joblist. Has anyone had this job, what is it like? I already know it has no benefits but the pay is what I was getting at my old librarian job and since I am still unemployed I thought it would be a good in between job until the job market recovers.

I'm wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem? I was in the middle of a TutorMe session and I get a pop up that says I've ran out of free hours. I am unable to exit the lesson space or tell my tutor that I can't continue the lesson. I keep seeing message come in from them and am unable to respond. I emailed Ecampus, to let them know but it's Saturday so it will be a nonissue next week when they actaully get it. I also know that I have not used any hours this week and I was not in the lesson very long. How can I fix this so I can at the very least apologize to the tutor so they don't think I've wasted their time.

I'm actually a bit upset about this. If there is anyone who can help me, please comment how you dealt with it.

So I am desperate for work as of right now, and was wondering if anyone has worked at "Tutorme Education" and if they could verify if that is the same thing as "Tutorme" their scheduling, lessons, and financial website (oases) is different from their tuotrme website.. I am also getting constant notifications about malicious code from the former and advised by Avast not to proceed to the full site.

Anybody worked for either of these before?

Has anybody ever used Tutorme and what were your thoughts? Are the tutors any good and are we allowed to use them when working on a project?

Is it possible to teach ESL on TutorMe? On their website propective students can put this as search criteria but when applying to be a teacher I could't find any option for "ESL teacher" or "TEFL teacher" and the likes

After working for them for two years I got suspended today without a warning or knowledge on what I have done. I'm really mad about this and the only thing I can think of is when I fought for the payouts I didn't receive in the past. Has anyone else been suspended before or have bad experiences with them?

I saw an ad for them in my school's job postings. I was curious to hear people's experiences using it. E.g., what subjects did you tutor in? What kinds of students did you see (college level, high school, something else)? If you wouldn't recommend TutorMe, why not?

So I was panicking a month ago for a nursing class and decided to look for a tutor. A few sites wanted CC info and I decided to use one that offered 30 min free. But they had in small print. Stipulations that they'd charge me were sent vaguely in an email. (I've posted below what they wrote) So I was charged for 2 months without knowing I was being charged. However, I shrugged off November's charge. It's been a month that's whatever. But I noticed the second charge a day after it occurred. So I contacted the company, after canceling, for a refund. Because their website had no useful tutors for what I had needed(nursing tutor). Their reply has been they do not offer refunds for any unused minutes and I was already billed for 2 hours. So basically for a website that has a lack of tutors, they also have an abysmal lack of customer service. DON'T EVER USE TUTORME is the point of this. Go to a shady back alley and risk getting mugged. This way you can see who's robbing you.

I am currently trying to find a work from home job that pays $15 an hour more. I’ve currently found worldwide101.com and tutorme.com. Has anyone had any experiences with either of these companies? Was it a good experience? Were you able to actually make good money from it? Flexible hours etc.? Are these legit companies that actually pay what they say they will?

Because they aren’t private tutors.

I recently took up the free offer of Mandarin classes and was wondering if anyone else had done the same. What has been your experience?

I have found the tutors really helpful. They teach the class using a lot of English, which leads me to question how beneficial would it be to teach English using Mandarin too? Will this be where the market moves?

Additionally, I have so far found my tutors nice and friendly without being over the top with their smiling. They've also used no TPR. This has led me to question my teaching style! I'm so paranoid about getting a low rating I think I'm getting new wrinkles from smiling so much... is it totally unnecessary???

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

I(49M) have a daughter(15F) and a son(14M). Both live with me permanently as their mother lives in another state. My daughter has been struggling keeping her grades up and hanging out with the wrong crowd. I have hired a few tutors to help with some subjects and she is seeing a therapist. She will lash out sometimes at home and I will have to punish her.

She asked if she could celebrate her 16th birthday party at the house and I told her that I was fine with having a party as long as she stayed out of trouble and did well on her math test. The party is scheduled for the weekend of January 14th and we have about 10 of her friends coming over. I get a call from the school on Wednesday that she had snuck in a water bottle filled with alcohol and one of her friends had to be sent to the nurse. I went to pick her up and she tells me that her one friend pressured her into bringing the bottle to school. She will serve in-school suspension for 5 days.

When we got home, I took away all her electronics and she can only use her phone for emergencies. I also told her that the birthday party will be cancelled. She got very upset and started screaming at me that I was the worst father in the world. She stormed up to her room and slammed the door.

I'm making this post so pissed and scared . I'm pregnant and was to have my appointment this week on Wednesday.My boyfriend , who has known from the beginning that I do not want kids, is now making it so hard for me to go for my next appointment. I LITERALLY had to lie so that they can push it to tomorrow and its a surgical operation.I'm also around 12 weeks pregnant atm.

We both never wanted kids, from the beginning after telling him that the test came out positive, we mutually agreed that I would terminate it.I was then around 8weeks pregnant.We started having plans on how we'd rearrange our finances to accommodate it.I was also not working so i took tutoring to start making some extra money.Abortion is illegal in my country so we had to hurry and go with the pills option as its cheap and can be done at home.On that same week he lied to me he had purchased the pills and the doc was out till the following week.He refused I take a loan from somewhere citing that we could just wait as we can't have pills twice .He wasn't updating me terming that its his money he needs to follow it up himself.

The following week came and he kept giving excuses as to why the pills can't be delivered.I then had to literally force him to give me the clinics name and contacts because the time was passing and I was anxious to be done.Thats when he became angry and told me that he hadn't bought it and he wanted us to keep the baby.I was taken aback considering this is a person I've known for more than 3yrs who always told me they're childfree.I was wondering what changed only for him to mention he has always wanted kids.I told him that at that point its just safe for us to part ways coz clearly he wasn't being himself.

Hello all, long time lurker to this community and first time poster. I just wanted to get this out of my system since I have no one else to talk to about this. Warning that this may be a long post. Sorry about that.

I had my daughter when I was very young, like way too young for anyone to be having a child. I grew up in an abusive family (physically and verbally) and fell in line with some bad kids. When I was pregnant with my daughter, my mom called me a whore and kicked me out of the house. I was under 16 years old at the time. I dropped out of school to work to support my baby and we were homeless for a few years. It was really tough but eventually with the support of some women's shelters and government programs, I was able to complete my GED and went to university. Through it all I tried my best to keep her away from that lifestyle and we were very close. As close as we were, I wasn't around much to raise her since I was working to keep the lights on. Her friends from school were really the only people who were around her all the time and I guess basically "raised" her. I knew that she understood to stay away from those people but at the end of the day, she was young and these people "cared and loved" her. Being so low income, the area we were in was pretty bad so her choice in friends was limited. I graduated from veterinary school in 2018 and started looking for a job right away. We were still low income and I had a lot of debt but it was something. Unfortunately around this time my daughter (now 13) started dating a 16, almost 17, year old boy. It scared the absolute crap out of me. I felt her slowly distancing from me when she met him. I never told her to stay away from him and I repeatedly invited him over to our home for meals. He was always very rude, commenting on how ugly the house was and how my cooking sucks (my cooking does suck but who says that?!). I just sucked it up and stayed very nice to him. I slowly got my daughter to open up more about their relationship and told her that she can talk to me about anything. At the time she said he talked down to her, tried to get her to do bad things for him, and other stuff I won't mention here. I just kept asking her things like, "what do you think about that?" "Is that what you think love is?" "Are you okay with that?" "Is this what you want?" All while never saying anything bad about him. I focused solely on her. Then in March 2020 she told me he wanted her to leave with him to "quarantine
