This lady is walking to the store and asks "Is that a good one" I says "yeah, I just had her tuned up" and then " it runs pretty smooth". All I got was a smile from her but I couldn't stop laughing on the inside myself.
One man pulled an old guitar off the wall that hadnβt been tuned in years and gave it to the octopus.
The octopus took the guitar, tuned it right up and began play.
There was no doubt that the octopus was an excellent guitar player.
The man paid his handler $50 and sat down.
Another man brought a saxophone to the octopus.
The octopus took it and stared for a bit.
After a minute or two the octopus began playing a deep and soulful jazz solo.
This man paid his $50 and sat down.
The bartender went into the back and brought out a set of bag pipes.
The bartender said, βIβll bet $100 that the octopus canβt play these bagpipes.β
The man agreed and handed them to the octopus.
The octopus sat there eyeing the bagpipes up and down for quite awhile.
The handler began to get nervous so he said to the octopus, βHurry up and start playing the thingβ
The octopus spewed, βPlay it?! I wanna marry her!"
I turned up the music and said "Here are some car tunes for you, son".
He started to cry and my wife yelled at me.
I took it to the mechanic, he said the harmonic balancer was the problem. I said is it sharp or is it flat? Either way, give me a tune up and Iβll be on my way.
Hi Folks, If you are a linguist then I am selling your dream car! Iβm selling an Accent, a 2004 Hyundai Accent to be precise. Even if you donβt know a bunch of languages, this car is still great for you.
Just like me, itβs been around the birthday block a few times, but thereβs still lots of life left in both of us, I guarantee! If you are looking for the perfect body, seek out a surgeon. If youβre looking for a car that will love you just the way you are, this is it. Now I know what youβre thinking, βI bet this is a junkerβ, but youβd be wrong. Next to my wife this is the best body Iβve ever had my hands on.
Whatβs wrong with it mechanically you ask? Nothing! It drives great, A/C & heat still work like a dream, breaks work, transmission shifts good, and the 1.6L engine runs great. With its age, the engine has had some parts replaced. All the belts have recently been changed, that happens with age as I just went up a few sizes myself. The washer fluid pump has been changed because itβs important to be able to have a good cry once in a while. I did an oil change in the summer and depending on how long it takes for this car to finds itβs new match, I will do another in the next month or so.
Since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Iβll give you a run down of what the interior is like. Itβs whatβs on the inside that matters anyway right? I am the 3rd owner of this car and the previous owner was a smoker. I donβt believe there is a cigarette smell anymore but the cloth seats do have little holes in them. I mean hey, when you play with fire you get burnt right? The stereo head unit has been replaced with a modern Pioneer as the original just wasnβt in tune with my musical needs as a Dj. The only real problem this pretty young thing has is the passenger rear seatbelt does not retract. Since I have two mini controllers I taxi around, Iβve had car seats in the back and have had no reason to replace the seatbelt yet. A new one is only a cool $250 from Hyundai but will take some time for delivery. There are still 4 working seatbelts in the car so if youβre traveling with another couple, Iβm sure theyβll love to cuddle up in the middle and behind you, the driver.
The trunk is spacious enough for the average trunk but just doesnβt work out so well for hauling Dj gear. The rear seats fold as easy a poker player having their bluff called, so it will give you extra room. Not much more that I can think of to tell you about but take a look at the plethora of p

Me: "But you speak Parsel Tongue"
Her: "No I don't!"
Me: Sure, I've seen you talk to the UPS guy
Her: (groan)
A few minutes later she stated singing (to the tune of "Bad Boys")
"Dad joke, dad joke
Whacha gonna do?
Whacha gonna do....
Uhhh"
Me: "When we pun for you!"
I don't think she's talking to me anymore tonight.
Years ago I used to use a LexisNexis database of companies that would give corporate information like name, address, and general business description. While most of them were pretty bland, there were a bunch of them with some really cheesy puns, and over a few years I built quite a collection.
Today I share with you "NEXIS IS RIDICULOUS.txt":
The kids were asleep and I just finished tuning up my wife's bike. "Take it for a spin" I said.
She hops on and says "I haven't ridden my bike since last summer!"
"You'll be fine!" I said. "It's like riding a bike."
I turn to my neighbour who was within ear-shot and he nods with a smirk of approval.
As I sat in the office lunchroom today, the topic of Game of Thrones came up, what with it's impending new season this Sunday. As we were discussing it, I mentioned that I couldn't hear a single bit of Swedish in Nickolaj Waldau's voice. My co-worker retorted that he could hear it quite a bit, and that I was perhaps accustomed to the accent, and thus tuning it out.
I replied, without quite thinking, that it was quite a Stark difference. There was silence between the six of us, followed by groans.
This Christmas, my dad, brother, and I went over to my grandfather's house to visit. My grandpa has a pool table, so we always play a couple games. Our teams were my dad and my brother against my grandpa and me. After his turn, my dad goes over to a piano in the corner of the room and starts playing Christmas tunes. His turn quickly comes up and he's still playing the festive tunes on the piano. My grandpa yells at him, "Hey! We're playing pool. Stop playing piano." My dad replies, "Fine! I'll play forte," and continued to play Jingle Bells, but very loudly.
"Lexophile" is a word used to describe those that have a love for the use of words, such as "you can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish", or "to write with a broken pencil is pointless." A competition to see who can come up with the best lexophiles is held every year in an undisclosed location. This year's winning submission is posted at the very end.

Dad: What are the musicians doing? Me: Warming up so they can play their music. Dad: No, it is the ancient Chinese art form of Tu Ning. Get it, Tu Ning, tuning. Me: Facepalm
"If you pick up the trumpet, tuning is one of the first things you learn to do. If you pick up the violin, it's the same deal. If you pick up the piano, you will then need to see a doctor because now you have a hernia."
Some precursor- I'm 27, my girlfriend is 34; we visited my family who lives in another state this past weekend for easter. The last two days I started to write down every horrible attempt at a joke my dad did. So these were just the best of the last two days. Note that this was the first time my girlfriend had met them.
When watching a commercial on liposuction, "I was going to get liposuction but they just melt it out, I wanted them to ZAP it out"
When getting directions, "Should I use my Gsp? (I think it was a joke trying to comment on the similar sound between esp and gps... not sure though)
When a commercial kept repeating "we can", he said (to the tune of ice cream ice cream we all scream for...)"WE CAN! WE CAN! WE ALL SCREAM FOR... ... DEATHcam" (I think he realized he had no joke there so sort of trailed off)
Finally, the worst. When we're pulling up to a state park, he's reading the signs that warn about rattlesnakes and scorpions. He leans in and says, "Hey, I've got a great survival tip" with a serious stern face, "Don't feed the rattlesnakes". Then cracks up with a silly laugh as if it's the funniest joke ever created. He realized that no one was laughing, so he thought if he repeated it a few times, it might get funnier. He continued throwing that joke out every time we got to a sign that had wildlife warnings. Seeing this strategy was failing to illicit any laughs, he decided to go with a new approach. He started saying "Don't feed the scorpions,"
I was about to start getting things out of the fridge to start making dinner. As i grab the handle my dad yells, "Stop!" as loud as he could. I freeze and quickly look up at him as he just mutters, "Dinner time" and starts humming the 'Cant touch this' tune.
