Does anyone know if this is the case?

My printer recently began displaying a "No Toner" error and refusing to print, even though the onboard status monitor consistently shows all four cartridges to be full. I have two of these machines, one at home, and one at work, and both seemed initially to gladly accept whatever cheap 3rd party cartridges I would order from Amazon or Ebay. A few months ago, one of the machines began refusing to print, displaying a "No Toner" message, so I'd swap out cartridges for new ones until it worked. I'm trying to figure out if this is an issue with the machine, perhaps a firmware update that was intended to limit the use of 3rd party toners? Or maybe I just got a bad batch of cartridges? I'm interested in other users' experiences. If it's an issue with a specific brand of cartridge, I'm thinking the "ABOIT"-branded ones from Amazon might be responsible. I just swapped in a set of cartridges branded "Toner Kingdom", and those seem to be working, at least for now.

I live in a tropical place and, as a student, I often need to print documents and works, so I always have a printer in my house. It has happened to me at least two times that I found a colony of ants living inside my printer each time that I don't use it for a month or so, and recently I found two colonies in some toner boxes that I was keeping to refill. Is it normal, why does this happen, how to avoid it?
The status (βLife Remainingβ) of the toners only displayed in steps of 10 (100%, 90%, 80% β¦ 0%). This is very impractical. Affected are min. WorkCentre and AltaLink.
Is there a way to change this somehow? An hidden option or so?
This was not the case in the past.

Hello all!
Does anyone know if there is any company in the lower mainland or mail to within Canada that pays cash for used toner cartridges? I have approx 20 empty toner cartridges from Brother 7440N to HP and was just curious before sending to return-it.
Thanks!
Hey! So title basically explains it, but I'll provide more detail:
I have a Canon Imageclass MF624cw, it uses 131 Canon toner cartridges from what I can tell. This printer thankfully let's me continue printing even after it's "out" of toner, and i just did the shaking method, but my printer is definitely making much more faded, bad prints nowadays.
I'm planning on buying a compatible 3rd party cartridge, because ALL of my toner cartridges are reading as empty, and the OEM ones cost $100 or more each.
That said, i have done some reading about refilling toner cartridges, and i looked on the marketplace, and found that someone nearby was giving away an unopened HP 36A black toner cartridge for free!!! I had the idea to take the toner from the one, and slap it in the other!
I did some more reading about toner and... It feels like a complete mystery. The internet seems to have no information about what the differences are between one toner type, or another, and what printers use what. This is really weird to me; obviously someone has this information, because there are a million off brand cartridges and refills available! But, the listings always just say the printer they are used for; never information about the toner itself.
So my question is, are there any resources available to tell me what's what?
If i can get these two toners side by side, can i figure out for myself how similar they are?
And lastly, if i have a printer, which builds the drum into the replaceable cartridge, is there serious risk of damage from an incorrect toner?
Thank you very much!
