A list of puns related to "Tobias Harris"

Context:

Spears of ESPN. > > Harris signed a five-year, $180 million deal with the 76ers during the 2019 offseason. > > "I'm hearing they want to include Tobias Harris," said Spears of Philadelphia's trade talks with the Atlanta Hawks. > > "Me too," replied Windhorst. > > "That is the word out there because they can't necessarily get an All-Star they want in return right now, as the Sixers have continued their talks, they've talked to teams about trading Tobias and Ben." > > Spears also reported that the Hawks had interest in a trade for Simmons until the 76ers broached the possibility of including Harris. > > Windhorst reported that some executives have speculated that offloading the money of Simmons and Harris could pave the way for the 76ers to pursue James Harden in free agency.
He's called out fans before, so this is nothing new from Danny. However, I don't think all of our criticisms are exactly misplaced? I mean, we aren't going to get mad Harris took the contract he did, but we can call out his on-court play and recognize how it's hurting the team. Personal attacks are not welcome, but when it's critiquing the play of a max contract player, I think it's fair game...
FULL QUOTE: > I know itโs getting to him. Iโm always trying to be the the encourager because I know the work he puts in and regardless of how heโs playing, he does not deserve the disrespect that heโs gotten from our home court, or our fans or even outside fans. A lot of people outside of our fans have not given him the benefit of the doubt of the things that heโs done for the team last year and in the past years. The work heโs put in. Obviously, all they see is the numbers. They see what heโs not doing and what heโs making and what what they think he should be doing and heโs a big part of this team. I just try to tell him to just block out the noise, we all do. We try to encourage him. We try to simplify and make the game easier for him. We know youโre frustrated, we know things sometimes are not going you way, and he knows I do have to perform. I do have to play better and it happens.
In a tank level, Cardio performance, Tobias Harris put up a 37 minute (3-17 / FG) (0-5 / 3PT) (5-5FT) Team Low (-17 +/-) to add 7 Reb, 5 assists, 5 fouls.
To add he single handily caused a 11-2 run in the last minute by the Nets to end the game. He shot a poor three, fouled KD to cause a 4 point play, left Blake Griffin wide open.
Trade this man for Harrison Barnes, please.

With praise, you also have to be willing to take criticism as well....I donโt think anybody in that arena is harder on me than I am on myself. Philly won on the road tonight against Orlando, and Harris finished the victory with 22 points and 9 rebounds after a tough stretch.
Joel Embiid has been carrying the Sixers all season without much help from his two max co-stars. A lot of the discussion has surrounded Ben, but what would it take to move on from Tobias and would it make sense. Salary wise, Tobias is the 13th highest paid player in the league at an even 36mil and has two more years on his contract after this. He is currently averaging 18.3 ppg, 7.6 rpg, and 3.9 apg on 45/28.7/85.6 splits with below average to somewhat suspect defense. The eye test is even more unforgiving. At this point cap flexibility seems like the best the Sixers can hope for, but their biggest needs are wing defense, ball handling, and shooting. Any takers for our superstar?
For comparison I'll use a very inefficient player: Russell Westbrook!
After this game, Tobias has less Points, Rebounds and Assists with worse FG%, 3P% and similar TS%.
For the people saying the Tobias' hate in uncalled for, I guess this shows it really isn't and his current form is unacceptable. Not only he is playing bad, he's also lowering the team's ceiling. Once again, Georges Niang had a better +/- than him. This doesn't come only from this game but the entire season. Niang (+1.5) has a better +/- than Harris (-1.1) even though he plays way less minutes with Joel Embiid (+3.4!!!!).
0-2 vs MEM, 3-7 vs MIA, 0-5 vs BRO, 3-3 vs BOS, 0-6 vs ATL, 0-0 vs WAS, 0-1 vs TOR
3 games without a 3
5/7 games without a 3
27% on 3s in the month of december
29.9% on 3s for the season
Honestly, its just embarassing, pathetic and sad.
For Comparison Tobias Harris is now shooting 3s just 1% higher than Matisse Thybulle, 9% lower than Embiid, and 7% lower than Tyrese Maxey

> โI couldnโt even leave the bed for a few days,โ he said. โThen from there, I started collecting the negative [COVID] tests, I was able to come in the gym and shoot. I was able to play today, and I wanted to go out there and give it ago.โ
> โI thought I just had allergies, at first,โ Harris said. โBut when I got back home, that night was rough. Fever, body aches, the whole nine. So from there, it was tough. But the team, obviously we talk in group texts. ... Iโm a relative very healthy person, I consider myself. So when the bug came and got me, that was tough.โ
> โI could have gotten a little fatigued out there,โ Harris said. โBut thatโs part of the way of working my way back into it. So it was just progress from there. But nonetheless just happy to get out there and play. Thatโs the biggest thing, to be healthy enough to go out there and play.โ
> โWe are down a lot of bodies,โ Harris said of why he returned Thursday. โWhen I was watching the Milwaukee game, I was like, โMan, these dudes are logging like 40 minutes. I was like, if I can semi-go, Iโm not about to leave my guys out there.โ
Tobias was out for a while, and Doc had previously commented that Tobias was not doing well with COVID, despite being vaccinated. He returned last night and had a good showing in the 76ers close loss. Glad to see heโs getting back to form.
> Tobias Harris on Ben Simmons: โI think we have to understand he's a human first & if heโs going through something we have to respect that and be there for him as a team, organization. I think he needs some support and I relayed that to the group and I hope that message is clear.โ
Tobias Harris has a great game (at the foul line) as he notches his first ever triple-double.
He has been playing for 11 seasons and has played with 5 different teams, yet out of all those games (704) this is his first ever tripled-double, making this quite a special performance from him.
His full statline:
36 MIN
19 PTS (3/12 FG, 0/1 3-PT, 13/14 FT)
12 REB (1 OREB, 12 DREB)
10 AST
2 STL
1 BLK
+1 +/- rating
Does this mean he got the word they are shopping him? Is he getting traded?
Morey moves coming?
Edit: on Instagram.
Okay so every Philly thread, including the one about Embiidโs comments on Maxey, have comments about Tobias being awful this season, with some fans even saying heโs a bad player. I took a trip to their subreddit and there are a lot of comments saying Tobias should be benched for Niang.
Now I havenโt watched many Philly games this season. Some comments were saying he was struggling against increased defensive focus while other comments were saying opposing teams arenโt guarding him. So Iโd like to hear what people think is going on.
But Iโm also interested because this is starting to remind me of Fultz and Simmons. Obviously Fultz, a first overall pick, was a disaster in Philly and then showed some renewed potential in Orlando before getting injured. Ben, another first overall pick and a max contract, has turned, seemingly, into a disaster even though he was in DPOY talks just last season. Now that the fanbase seems to have its reticle focused on Tobias, another max player, I just canโt help but feel like something is going on in Philly. Do people think this an issue with talent identification, like they shouldnโt have drafted Fultz or traded for Tobias. Or is it a developmental issue? Or is Tobias just in a slump and none of the three situations are connected?

> Tobias Harris said he still feels like he โhas a coldโ every day after returning from COVID-19 last month. Harris said heโs trying to fight through, but โthereโs only so much you can do.โ
Sucks that Tobias is still dealing with the impact of his COVID.
Latest rumor is that Philly is trying to package Harris and Simmons in a deal. That's nearly $88 million in salaries that need to be matched, which pretty much makes a 3rd team required to pull of a trade.
This is not a love/hate Simmons thread. Let's assume we are going after Simmons, who would a realistic 3rd team be to help facilitate a trade?
With all the trash basketball we just endured I thought I'd take the liberty to create a safe space for people whom Tobias Harris ruined their night like mine.
After his previous cardio performance, Tobias Harris bounces back with revenge with the Sixer playing short handed agaisnt the Celtics. He played 41 mins and put up 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. He shot 7-13 from the field, shot a perfect 3-3 from three, and shot 8-10 on free throws.
Christmas givings.
Joel Embiid had 41 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks. (14-27 FG) (12-14 FT)
Seth Curry had 26 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds. (10-14 FG) (3-3 3PT)
Tobias Harris had 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists (7-13 FG) (3-3 3PT) (8-10 FT)
The rest of the Starters: 15 points.
The Bench: 1 point.
Amazing. We a have new Big Three in the East. (^(hyperbolic))
Edit: It's the most points by a trio this season.
>Sixers forward Tobias Harris: โI didnโt ask (Ben Simmons why he came back).โ
>Sixers forward Tobias Harris on other playersโ reaction to Ben Simmons being back: โWeโre grown men here. This is not seventh or eighth grade.โ
>"We got an opening to our season coming up. Truth be told, that's honestly where our focus is. We're grown men here. This is not middle school, seventh grade, eighth grade, 'Oh, you did this to me, you did this!' Nah, as soon as we step on that floor, it's just basketball and honestly thaลฅ's the way it should be. We're here for one thing, that's to be the best team we can be and compete, get better as a group. So all the energy and this or that, the vibe was what it was. Was it perfect? No. But we're here to do a job and that's to win basketball games. So, put our big boy pants on the floor and we get on the floor and do what we do."
Responding to being booed by his own fans in the previous game, in a win versus the San Antonio Spurs, Tobias Harris put up 23 Points, 7 Rebounds, & 5 Assists, on shooting 9-12 FG. He was playing more in control and instead of poor layups, he when up strong on decisive dunks.
He definitely did his job this game.

So Iโve been recently seeing a lot of sixers fans hating on Tobias and wanted to understand this more. I know his contract is big but as a player, he seems to be a great shot creator and solid defender who is super important to your team. Is it something about his playstyle, inconsistencies, fit, etc?

>โIโm hearing they want to include Tobias Harris,โ said Spears of Philadelphiaโs trade talks with the Atlanta Hawks. โMe too,โ replied Windhorst. โThat is the word out there because they canโt necessarily get an All-Star they want in return right now, as the Sixers have continued their talks, theyโve talked to teams about trading Tobias and Ben.โ
