A warm and cozy country album largely focusing on heartbreak with some great Wall of Sound layers. Gram Parsons's vocals are again beautiful and tragic and authentic.
Highlight Track: Tough choice, but I'll go with "Hot Burrito #1" today amongst other standouts.

#462- The Flying Burrito Brothers-The Gilded Palace Of Sin
After Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman left the Byrds they formed The Flying Burrito Brothers. Their debut album The Gilded Palace Of Sin is a country-folk masterpiece. It blends both genres perfectly. ItΒ has influenced countless country and rock artists. People consider this album to be the forbearer of the alternative country movement influencing bands like Wilco, Son Volt and Uncle Tupelo. Also some mainstream country artists name this album as an influence. Bob Dylan named The Gilded Palace Of Sin as his favorite country rock album of all time. Β The country twang and the bandβs harmonies mold hippie Idealism and hillbilly soul into a beautiful mix. The 2012Β Rolling Stone list had this album at #192 thatβs a 270 album drop. If you never checked out this band or want to get into 60βs country-rock this album is the perfect starting point.
