If you were to go back in time to give the Beach Boys a different band name, what would it be and why?

- I just get the feeling that one of the worst things that happened to the Beach Boys' artistic trajectory was their name, right out of the gate. It's almost as if they were doomed to have that image of sun, surf, cars and girls forever, even after their string of really interesting albums that followed Pet Sounds.
I feel like it's a big reason why they're not as revered as the Beatles. It's like they were a concept band, confined to a limited number of song subjects (in the American public's mind anyways). The Beatles never had a name to uphold, they just had to stop wearing those corny matching suits and let the music speak for itself.
I dunno, what do you think? I like to think it would've been easier for them to break off into uncharted territory if they didn't have that kitschy connotation following them wherever they went. Context is everything.
Would've been a hell of a lot easier to tell Mike Love to fuck the formula, if there wasn't as much of a formula, anyways, and the name obviously supports that formula. Food for thought.

TIL the Beastie Boys were originally a four piece hardcore punk band called Young Aborigines. Mike D played drums and later took over lead vocals, MCA joined the band as a bass player, and Ad-Rock was a replacement for the lead guitar player until they made the transition to hip hop in 1983

So excited and proud of my oldest boy. He and his band are in the recording studio for the next three days recording an EP for fun!
My oldest boy (25) has always been into music but I gave him the same advice my dad gave me - work for money, then use money to enjoy your passion or you will most likely be poor.
I wanted to be a portrait artist growing up. Instead I got degrees in CS and Economics and I've founded several software companies. Now I get to enjoy the things that interest me.
He got a degree in Game Design and is a game producer at a large studio. He helped me write and record a song to my wife for our anniversary back in October by getting his old high school garage band back together to make it.
As a present I gave the boys studio time to make an EP (for fun - they all have corporate jobs).
It's like I helped them reignite that musical fire! They have been writing songs and getting ready since November and the day is finally here! I am so excited for them! I hope they have an amazing Life Adventure and create something they can be proud of for the rest of their lives.
My wife and I are so excited for when we first get to hear the finished work!

One of the best cover band concert i've ever seen! Tonight in Palermo, with those kick ass boys that are the Inside Out, and they played some great early Floyd song, such as Echoes, Atom Heart Mother, Saucerful of secrets and many others! Had so much fun
Book about a couple of teens like maybe 1 boy and 3 girls(not too sure on that that but mostly girls) get and rv and travel I think the girls are in a band but they suck and at the end of the book one of the girls go off to college
^^The book is like really chill. I read it in 6th grade but I honestly don't think it was meant for 6th graders it had a more mature young adult field at least from what I barely remembered.
