A list of puns related to "The Boys Are Back (film)"
Itβs a great line; always loved it. But more than a few people have over the years noted the seeming error script-work, as it seems to imply that the Orcs & Uruk-Hai have menus and therefore restaurants. Which sours it to some extent.
Its important to remember, however, that the Lord of the Rings is a story that comes to us second hand from the Hobbits. Now this is predominantly Frodo, but also Sam in places where Frodo is not present (The Oliphaunts, Frodoβs poisoning). In the same vein we can deduce that many scenes are written from the recollections of Merry and Pippin, like the sequence on the road after their capture.
Thus, the line is a Hobbit translation or embellishment. Hobbits definitely DO have menuβs after all. Even the humour works well with the personalities of M & P.
Sure, its maybe a bit of mental leg-work. But it fits perfectly fine with the universe. So Everyone else who loves the scene can enjoy it to their hearts content.
I would like to share an experience that happened mere moments ago. A little preface first. We had a squad and it was good. Those days were amazing, BF4 mil sim-style communication and laughing our balls off when a battlefield moment happened. Fast forward a few years and we all just kind of fell off each other's radar. Life, COVID, some job changes, and still comms are silent. Then, BOOM, Battlefield 2042 trailer drops. LIFE! My phone buzzes. Not a normal text. Holy shit it's Tologuns! Haven't talked to him in 3 years almost. We are family so that's not necessarily uncommon. BUT I shot a feeler text to our pilot Jaybird after the gameplay reveal, haven't talked to him in a very long time. Again life, jobs, family. He responds "I've been doing well, don't fuck up while you're gunning for me." Then we chatted for while about how we both have been doing.
People want to talk shit about this passion of ours, but sometimes magic happens. And this really is a community that we all share a love for whatever game it is, but this all brings us together. Which is a beautiful thing really. Ok, I'm done, thank you.
I've only just watched my first documentary on the assassination of President Garfield and can't recall seeing anything on McKinley. It's quite amazing to think four American Presidents have been assassinated. Everyone would have seen, watched or read about the assassinations of Kennedy and Lincoln but why is there so little emphasis on Garfield and McKinley? I would think more people, particularly those of us outside the US would know more about the attempted assassination of Reagan than what happened to Garfield and McKinley.
