I got into the series after playing the latest video game. And to be honest, Iβve been having a hard time determining whether I liked the books because I enjoyed the game so much, or if the books were actually good.
I donβt think I really enjoyed the constant flipping between future and present, and new characters revealing what occurred to our heroes. More often then not I was left asking βwhat is happening?β then I ever felt I had a clear grasp on what was going on.
Book 5 was so slow and boring, but the last couple action scenes in six and seven were pretty sweet.
Definitely lots of movements that were cool and exciting, but I wonder if I hadnt already played the games if I would have stuck it through..
What are your thoughts?? Letβs discuss !
Thanks all! This was fun! I'll check in a few more times during the day to drop answers, so keep the questions coming.
Every year, cities and states spend tens of billions of dollars on tax breaks and giveaways for corporations -- think money for Amazon HQ2 or Foxconn, a city building a stadium for an NFL team, or subsidizing TV shows such as House of Cards -- under the theory that doing so creates jobs and boosts the economy. But that theory is trash. You are being ripped off by your favorite sports team, your favorite Netflix show, the hotel your mom stays in when she visits (including Trump hotels), the big box stores you shop in, and on and on. I wrote a book about how and why this happens, and what we can do about it. I'm also the managing editor for TalkPoverty.org, and you can follow me on Twitter at @Pat_Garofalo. (Note the underscore!)

I work at a tutoring center and one of my students was very intrigued by the sight of my Drawga stickers (heβs five). His first impressions were shockingly accurate. Legzi- βshe stole money!β Rox- βthat oneβs a rockstar.β Gina- βoh sheβs a bad guy.β

As explained. If you don't like a crowd, and want to just hang out one on one, that's fine by me too.
I just want to give back, since I was there and I'm doing better in life now relatively speaking.
I also have WAY too many books, mostly literature, but also old text books and what not. I can make reasonable book suggestions and you can have the book if I happen to have it.
If there's any interest, let's plan something. (I'm NOT going to Lajizz, everywhere else non sketchy is okay. )

Hi guys lets figure out how to coordinate and meet -- is there a group chat option or something? No idea what's the best way to go about it.
So from what Iβve seen theyβve neutered a lot of what made the free people unique in this new book and have just made them feel like any-other faction. The loss of great companies in particular hurt as it was a totally different mechanic only they had which made them feel really fun and different to play, Not to mention it felt really thematic.
Theyβve also removed a lot of the fun quirks of their units, so we lost the old reckless charge of pistoleers, weβve lost the ability for crossbow men to stand and shoot, and most importantly to me the way banners work, which is now fundamentally different and now worse.
And worst of all in my opinion a lot of models have been removed that I really donβt agree with, namely freeguild militia, the gun master, cannon, witch hunter, and warrior priests. All of whom were great allied models and also important parts of the lore. Like recently the name of the book escapes me but one of the main characters is a witch hunter and the fact theyβve suddenly removed them entirely from the game as they were finally getting some lore exposure and development feels just pointless and also the fact that cannons are no longer in the game but the main art for graywater being huge cannons which looked awesome just felt wrong. tbh tho the part I was looking forward to the most was being able to finally field more of these models alongside my freeguild as I wouldnβt have to worry about the ally limit anymore, however now theyβve permanently take these models away and Iβve found that really frustrating.
I know a lot of armies have it worse, namely what was left of high elves basically got completely squatted bar the Phoenix guard and tbh I feel bad complaining but I really thought this was gonna be our book that finally bought us into the game for real, and we have gained some things, namely the hero steam tanks are awesome and theres been a few minor buffs sprinkled about but in all honesty weβve lost far more than weβve gained and the faction now feels pretty dead to me and Iβm tempted to just leave it as a result which is really the last feeling a new release for your army should give you but here I am.......
Anyway thatβs rant/vent over, what do you guys think of the book? Iβm particular interested what other order factions that are now part of the CoS feel about the book.
I've read about ten of the Discworld books so far, skipping around a little bit but reading most in order. So far, the only City Watch novel that I've read is Guards, Guards. I keep reading about how excellent Night Watch is. Should I read everything between Guards, Guards and Night Watch in order to get the most out of the book? Do I only need to read a few of the books in between? I guess I could be patient and make my way through the whole series, but Night Watch seems to get so much hype that I don't want to wait.
I figured I would at least read Men at Arms first, since from what I've read that introduces several more characters.
I'm really interested in the search for the city of gold in the Americas and I wanted to know more about what European nations like Spain were doing to try and find it. Any books about the early expirations are fine too.
Iβll see if I can post some evidence later on. Please no inappropriate suggestions.
Edit: Thanks for the school-related suggestions, but since Iβm homeschooled, I will have to break into the nearest kindergarten. Iβll hand out stickers to the children and let them do the work for me.
So far weβve got:
-washing machine
-classmatesβ bags
-under the door
-on the neighborβs bike
Chapter 56 The Legend of the Legendaey Staff
Kegend was deep in thought looking over the map legend, when he was interrupted by the Legendary Wizard Leg'dary. He said, "Have I told you about the Legendary Forgers who forged my Legendary Staff Of Ligendray. Long ago in a time of myth and legend, in the legendary city Vigend lived the great Legendary Forgers. They hammered away with their legendary cyclical hammers, a part of their body that is legendarily large. They hammered away craving ancient legends into this legendary staff."
After being distracted by the Wizard's legendary tale, he found out he read the map legend wrong. They won't heading to the City of Legend, but to the legendarily horrifying Legend Rock. This cursed place is known for it legendary maidens of death known as the leg'irn. These legendary maidens killed all men that came to Legend Rock. Yet, Kegend wasn't fearful. For his legendary cums were so powerful they could kill dragons.
Kegend jumped onto the rock from the Legendary Ship the Legendurium. He ripped off his clothes in the style of the legendary strippers of old. He scream in a voice like a legendary warrior, "I'll show you bitches a real legend"
