A list of puns related to "The Ailerons"
Introducing the Aileron, a brilliant 50's sports car based on the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing!
The Gullwing is a classic and unique car by no exaggeration, beautiful in every way. It was deemed Sports Car of the Century in 1999 and used in races. It was also a very light car, weighing only around 50 kg. It could reach a stunning speed of 165 mph, a significant feat at the time, beating the DB5. And I know, it can share a few design similarities with the Agent, but the two cars are very different.
In-game, the Aileron would be comparable to the Surus in some ways. Its speed would be similar to the car's but its acceleration would be slightly better. It can seat two players and supports first-person driving and opening doors. It would theoretically cost around 300,000 to 400,000 cash.
I hope everyone enjoys the Aileron and that it gets added to Jailbreak someday!
I've found plenty of links talking about the difference in how they're used and their typical position on a wing: flaps control altitude and speed, ailerons control roll; flaps are closer to the fuselage, ailerons are toward the end. I've even found discussions about the flapleron hybrid. But I haven't found anything (yet) that tells me about the physical difference between the two.
Are flaps just ailerons that move together (rather than opposite) and mounted closer? Do they have pretty distinct mechanics for how they articulate?
Thanks!
Need a lift?
Heard a story told of a test pilot that had this happen to him (always check for free and correct controls was the moral of the story). It had me thinking about what I could do if this happened to me? What should you do?
I'm looking to get one of those tools to go onto a wing for setting up a planes aileron throw. Has anyone designed one on a 3D printer?
I was flying the A-4 alot before getting into the F-5, and the A-4 is a spaceship in terms of its roll rate.
It makes the F-5 feel quite sluggish in comparison, and I was thinking surely more roll rate could help during scissors and other maneuvers?
I know I can hold down my paddle switch during a fight, but I'm not sure if there's actually any advantage at all of limiting the roll rate if I can handle the stick.. why not just unleash the full control limits all the time?
I have toggle switches on my throttle that are on like held down, so it's fully possible I can just turn off the limiter as part of my startup procedure.
Has anyone else done this?
