I'm surprised it hasn't decade.

I posted before Thanksgiving that my parents didn’t know i’ve left yet. (haven’t removed my records though) But would inevitably be finding out because of a family temple trip. Well they found out. I’m glad they know because that was a lot to hold in. I want to say they took it well (i do kinda think it went better than expected but I also really had no idea what to expect) but i also feel like it didn’t. They bombarded me with texts and comments in the last 24 hours of my trip after I told them that any further than “i don’t have a testimony and i have good reason” I wasn’t ready to have a big conversation about it yet. I simply ignored them and only scanned over most texts to avoid anger so I still don’t really know what they say. My dads final irl verbal words before I left were “i love you ________ remember to doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith” this PISSED me off as that sentence has such a strong factor in why I chose to leave. It took everything in me not to snap back in that moment and start a scene at the airport. ANYWAYS fast forward to now and I haven’t really had much contact with my family since being back on my own (really not abnormal for me though) but I will be visiting again for Christmas (scary bc it’s so religion oriented and I don’t even know if I believe in God… i really don’t think I do.) But i’ll be there for a whole week and this time it will be a just my immediate family event so there won’t be much I can do to avoid a one on one big conversation with my parents. This being said, back to my big question. I want to narrow down what I at least start with- I want to make sure I can show them sources they will respect (ie, preferably D&C, Gospel Topics Essays, anything that can be found on the church website or scripture or sold in dessert book…☠️ but a few easily historically backed info that challenges the church) & I want them to be things that will actually get my parents to think. I hate this “faith crisis/faith transition” period in my life and honestly wouldn’t wish this hurt and confusion on anyone but a big part of me would love to have my parents actually hear me and leave too. But mostly I want them to understand that i’m not “offended” or “lost and confused” and that I won’t be returning. I want to be heard.

⚠ Two deaths and 73 cases in the HNELH district ⚠

A further 73 cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in the Hunter New England Local Health district in the 24 hours to 8pm Sunday. Walk-in Pfizer vaccination clinics are available across the District, see below.

Health authorities say two women also sadly died with COVID-19.

🔸 A woman in her 50s from Newcastle LGA died in Calvary Mater Newcastle. She had received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and had underlying health conditions.

🔸 A woman in her 70s from Cessnock LGA died in John Hunter Hospital. She had received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and had underlying health conditions.

⚠️New cases:

🔹 19 cases in Newcastle LGA, 17 in Maitland LGA, 16 in Lake Macquarie LGA, 12 in Cessnock LGA, six in Mid Coast LGA, two are from Port Stephens LGA and one is from Singleton.

🔹 Total cases since August 5th is now 2,198

🔹 27 cases were in isolation for their entire infectious period, 33 were infectious in the community, and 13 are still under investigation

🔹 Forty five cases are linked to known exposures or clusters, 15 are unlinked, and the source of 13 cases is under investigation
