A list of puns related to "TORCH syndrome"
So, i have and air eq, solo 2 and two dynvaps. My thing is, like many, I now have a bad case of VAS.
I want a pocketable piece that's i could use outside in the city without people noticing. Im looking at the POTV but im wondering how discreet it is. I dont mind if people see me vaping, id just rather it wasn't super obvious it isn't an e-cig
If not the POTV, then what would you reccomend? TIA.
This is coming from the perspective of someone who is both a player and a DM.
Sometimes players don't want the plot to revolve around their character, and that's okay. They may want to experience the plot, but not have their character deeply tied to it, if that makes sense. If you're starting at level 1, that implies your character has pretty minimal life experience, and very little adventuring experience, if any. "I've slain 9 of the 10 dragons that burned down my village 400 years ago, here's a chapter for each dragon" isn't very realistic for a level 1 character.
I think a lot of DMs and players alike have an idea of "protagonist syndrome", if that's a term. Some people also just have pretty boring childhoods, even as a PC. Not every child has their village torched by orcs, or grew up on the streets, or the like. It's okay to not put a ton of thought into how your character came to be adventuring. If you're into that (I personally enjoy developing a character's backstory), then by all means go for it, I've seen some amazing backstories that play out really well. But I think there's a lot of pressure from DMs for players to write a novel about some guy's first semester at fighter school.
Definitely encourage it if you like that sort of thing in your game, but keep in mind not every player enjoys that sort of stuff. As with most things, this really just boils down to "talk to your players to see what stuff they'd like to see in the game".
Hello again, and welcome back to Fixer-Uppers, where we take a look at the worst champs in the game, discuss why they're not succeeding at the game plan they're meant for, and think about how they might be changed. This week, we're discussing the Spear of Vengeance, Kalista.
Last time we had a hell of a discussion about whether Aphelios should even be allowed to be good in his current form, given the play patterns he can lead to, which was great to see, read, and participate in. This time...well, I get the feeling that people aren't going to be less mad at me, which I'm excited to see. Let's get into it!
Kalista
3 Mana
Level 1: 4/3 Fearsome (that's it?), Level up when I've seen 3 allies die.
Level 2: 5/4 Fearsome, Each round, the first time I attack, revive an Ephemeral copy of the strongest dead allied follower. This round, we're bonded and it takes damage for me.
The Good
Kalista isn't a bad champion, per se. She seems to have been designed to be the Shadow Isles midrange champion, which is a weird identity given that the best cards in SI are either super aggro (Keeper/Butcher, Nightfall) or very control oriented (Wail, Grasp, Ruination). A 3 mana 4/3 Fearsome is a solid aggro statline, and she levels up very easily and naturally in her decks, which already want to swarm the board with cheap, easily killable units. She can even flip immediately after playing her using Haunted Relic, making her one of the fastest-leveling champs in the game. Post-flip, she can attack quite safely thanks to her bonding mechanic, making her a solid midrange board-value card, and she can engineer some fun combos by reviving units with "when I'm summoned" effects like Wraithcaller or Tianna Crownguard.
She seems to have been designed to work with Lucian, given their very similar leveling conditions and overall game plan of self-killing aggro-y midrange. Unfortunately she just doesn't make much sense with him, since her LV2 effect only works on one attack per turn, meaning she can't use Lucian's rallies very well. This is why Lucian has historically been paired with Hecarim, whose attack effect is game-ending in combo with Lucian's rallies, even though it seems Hec was "supposed" to work with Zed (lmao).
She's seen success historically, although not with Lucian; rather, her most recent good deck was a classic They Who Endure deck alongside Elise, which

I got my Firewood7 a month ago so thought I'd write a review.
Why I got it: I had a sticky brick runt and a couple dynavaps with an induction heater, and wanted something a bit easier to just load and hit without torches or accessories. I really wanted something on-demand, because I tend to forget I'm vaping a bowl midway through and get distracted, so session vapes are always a bit of a waste on me. I also wanted something really heavy-hitting, because the sticky brick spoiled me.
Things I like: This thing DELIVERS on just about everything I was looking for. It has been my daily go-to vape since I got it. I get huge hits off this thing. Not quite as huge as sticky brick hits, but definitely comparable in quality. I've got a high tolerance and it really packs a punch. It's definitely a mix between session-style and on-demand, but I don't really mind. I often will take two hits to start out, put it down for a while, and come back and take two or three more hits. If I have it on a low heat setting, I can get six or seven smaller hits off a bowl.
One of my favorite things about it is that it's pretty much self-cleaning, which is a huge improvement, especially on my sticky brick runtββI got so sick of changing screens every couple of days. And, you can load it right after you self-clean a bowl, and it'll be nice and pre-heated.
The learning curve wasn't too bad, it took me about a week to figure it out. I combusted a couple of times on my first day or two using it when I was still getting used to it, but haven't combusted since. It would be pretty hard for me to combust with it now, and I don't really have to pay attention to technique.
Things I like less: I have sometimes found myself wishing the bowl were a little bigger. Again, I may be spoiled coming from a sticky brick, but especially in a vape so portable, it would be cool to be able to vape larger bowls at once so I could take it on a walk or something without having to reload. This has just a bit more capacity than a dynavap. Also, the bowl itself can be a bit of a pain to load, just because it's so narrow and it's right by the battery, so I always drop little bits of herb into the battery. In general, it would be cool if it could plug directly into the wall to be charged.
Also, this may be more of a "me problem," but I have ehlers danlos syndrome, which causes me to have joint pain and limited hand strength (part of why I wanted a push-button vape in the first place!). I have foun

Hi! Please delete if this isnβt allowed! I listened to Gen Why based on some recommendations from this subreddit. I have been enjoying so far and have been listening and working my way back to the older episodes. BUT WOW, the most recent episode is about the mysterious death/disappearance of Jelani Day and Daniel Robinson.
It begins with them talking about βmissing white woman syndromeβ and the lack of coverage when it comes to people of color or men. In Jelani Dayβs case, they harp on the familyβs relationship discontent with law enforcement and mansplains reasons why police might not release info/update the family. The hostsβ attitude was that shows like CSI have ruined our view of police investigations, that the public believes it should be speedy and easy. They point out how Jelaniβs mother has been very vocal about her sonβs disappearance and death, alluding that she isnβt privy to behind the scenes processes and how slow it is. I thought it was incredibly tone deaf to say something like this about the family, who have justified reason to not trust law enforcement in handling the case of a young Black student. Not necessarily this particular podcast, but youβll hear about the worried mother, calling police everyday, dedicated to their child, βnever giving upβ, she is praised for her tenacity, but how come on this occasion the mother isnβt talked about in that light by the hosts? On top of that, the area where his vehicle was found is a known βsundown townβ, which the two hosts quickly ignore and say that it is highly improbable that it could have been a hate crime. It seems that the family and supporters (including myself) do see this as a possibility, as a result of the town of Peru having a 95% white population and less than 0.5% African American population. Of course the victimβs family is frustrated and wants answers, but I was shocked at how much they focused on how much the public and loved ones donβt understand what goes on behind the scenes (apparently the hosts know). It felt incredibly invalidating. They also mention that lack of media coverage doesnβt mean lack of investigation, but I donβt think that necessarily rings true. You hear about investigators that are βhauntedβ by an unsolved case, usually about white woman, they work on the case for years, decades and sometimes even into retirement. Who is carrying the torch for the other victims that donβt fit under the missing white women syndrome? The families and loved ones. They want to m

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.

I won't be doing that today!
I would've simply laughed at you, but now it feels like I've been not only restrained, but have hardly even started.
Especially because originally I was looking for a vape solution that didn't require spending hundreds or buying a battery. (Spoiler alert: I have now done both!)
First a $50 M. I liked it so much I decided to upgrade myself to a $200 Simrell Vortex, but refused to give in to "VAS" (Vape Acquisition Syndrome) and start a collection, so I gave the M away.
But then I saw that the BB9 was only $22, so I ordered one of those to try.
Then I needed a tip and cap for that while my Vortex was soaking in ISO, so...
I bought an $80 RosiuM for the tip and cap, because it was barely any more than just buying the tips and cap separately, plus it was purple, so why not?
But then I had a useless RosiuM stem, and then it's Black Friday, so...
Here comes the Stinger!
And here comes the iSpire Wand, too, because the torch is surprisingly noisy sometimes.
"Suddenly" I find myself with three full vapes, a wand, a few stands, and I'm not even blinking, because I've still saved more than that on weed in the meantime.
It's also kind of strange how quickly my impression went from "it's just a steel stick, what?" to "this is the most beautiful piece of technology I've ever held."
Any other stories to share?

Chapter 25: The Heart Of The Matter
The plan we finally came up with had to be, without a doubt, the most outlandish, overly complicated, and contrived Rube Goldberg-esque escape plan in the history of the Perseus Arm. It was no wonder Iβd missed it on my first pass, and why the Eleexx had never considered it as a potential security threat. Only someone with a deeply skewed view of the universe could have conceived itβ¦ and if that doesnβt describe us Terrans down to a βTβ, I donβt know what does.
Only I would have missed it completely, had it not been for Ravenβs contribution. Even now, as I gaze at her, I donβt know what Iβm looking at. Iβm starting to believe sheβs no longer a mere simulacrum, and I donβt know what to make of that. My recent experience with the YΔ«qΓΊn has reinforced in my mind the dangers of Artificial Intelligence, and I wonβt lie, the possibility sheβs headed down that path terrifies me. If thatβs the case, however, Iβm not sure what I can do about it. I mean, I already tried killing her once, and just ended up embarrassing myself.
But she also saved me, both in that desperate fight and by healing me afterwards, using some method I still hadnβt determined. I donβt claim to be an expert on the subject, merely well informed, so perhaps Iβm mistakenβ¦ but my gut says otherwise. Somethingβs different about her, and I donβt know what to make of it. I mean, she glowed. You explain that. I certainly canβt.
At the moment, however, I had bigger issues to deal with, like escaping. The plan Raven and I had hammered out looked good on paper, but it also had at least half a dozen built in failure points along the way. The good news was that if it failed, the odds were good that the Eleexx would not recognize it as an attempted escape triggered by cybernetic personalities hidden within their own computer network. The bad news was that we were rapidly running out of time. If they hadnβt discovered our removal of a key component to their security setup, they would shortly, and once that happened, our days were numbered.
So⦠the plan.
It all started with a janitorial bot. The Eleexx used them throughout the facili

This comes on the tail of my Fibromyalgia diagnosis.
Men are believed to be very undiagnosed when it comes to Fibro. IMHO that's due to the Suck it up drive on mentality drilled into us. In my case it led to many years of gaslighting myself into thinking that it would go away 15 years after getting out it hadn't and in many cases has been getting worse.
It is not a "woman's" disease
Fibro symptoms most common in males.
Men have fewer symptoms than women. They tend to have less from fatigue and they have pain in fewer places. "It's much less common for men to hurt all over," Yunus says. "But in many ways, men are more affected, more bothered by fibromyalgia." A direct quote from the linked article.
Here are some other fun symptoms I myself experience.

Method: The diagnosis of CA was made in the period of June 1986-December 1988 in 74 patients. The CA patients were sent a questionnaire aft

I am a political activist who was not only involved with the discussion leading up to the Adbusters article that lead to the Occupy Walstreet movement, but I was involved with Occupy Oakland breaking off into it's own thing separate from Occupy SF financial district as the main center of SF bay area organizing.
I have been harassed and spied on by the police, FBI, and Homeland Security....in the past... and I don't think it's always or usually them. Their AI and humans blame them. I think it's misdirection.
Trying to give me Havana Syndrome and ramming me into oncoming traffic of killer innocent civilians doesn't seem like the FBIs or Homeland Security's style. They have been overbearing and invasive, but I would not be so quick to accuse them of trying to kill innocent third party civilians driving on the freeway from Oconomowok Wisconsin to Janesville Wisconsin on my way back from the hospital.
