The Eldest Throne is a progression fantasy series in a setting where the entire world is stylized as one undivided empire, with every “nation” instead being a province ruled over by an Imperial Library. In this setting, there are also no stars, nor a moon or sun; it’s the titular Eldest Throne that grants both light and warmth from the center of the world. This is also a place where the night is a tangible, insidious force that waxes and wanes like an abyssal ocean across the ever slowly expanding borders of the empire.
Roun, our protagonist, achieves his dream of becoming a Grimoire near the start of the book, which is basically a superhero themed around very wizard-inspired powers known as artes. After becoming one, he is brought to the local Imperial Library alongside other young Grimoires to be trained to fight against mutated monsters known as chimeras, which threaten humanity to such a degree that Grimoires are the only real answer the empire has to them. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Today's the day we pave the way
To cut short this awful stay. For years, in shackles we have trod. Now we're escaping Tol'Barad!
This expansion is themed around an original breakout from the magical prison of Tol' Barad. Each class will get a legendary criminal/supervillain that is based on their class' archetype. Most of these will be original characters. This is kind of a Boomsday-style expansion. The New Keyword is "Focus", which triggers a bonus if you choose to spend the specified amount of extra Mana Crystals. E.g. Focus (2): Gain +4 Health.
Some Class Themes
- Demon Hunter- Hitmen...for Souls! In this set, Ilthalos (legendary) and his splinter group of Demon Hunters took to hitwork, and have run afoul of the law. Now in Tol' Barad, they love the thrill of pursuit. Besides Outcast synergy, this class will have synergy with Illidari tokens and killing targets. Some cards may be buffed when you kill minions, and others may send tokens (or buff them) to do it for you. In short: Illidari, killing minions, Outcast.
- Druid- Eco-terrorism. D.E.H.T.A (A druid parody of PeTA from WoW) has grown, and after an incident with a hunting lodge, have been locked up. This class set will focus on using Mana to control the game and empower your animal friends. In short, armor to stall until you can use Focus for big beast bonuses.
- Hunter- Excessive damage spells. Ol' Barkeye and his gnolls have been sent to Tol'Barad after some escapes from the stockades and messing with the local populace. This is pre-EVIL. Theme: Shots, Return of Overkill, Playing Spells/Beast last turn triggers an effect.
- Mage- Frost/Freezing synergy. Bryll, a Forsaken Frost Mage, has robbed her way through the eastern kingdoms, until a heist in Silvermoon was put on ice by the city guard. This class will emphasize Frost Spells, Adding vulnerability to Frozen minions, and even lengthening their time in an icy prison. Themes: Frost, Frozen Minions taking more Damage, Freezing Synergy.
- Shaman- Murlocs and Water-Related Spells. Hethrakess, a Naga Sea
