The original Burst name was Manyou no Ittou. Has no sense to suddenly name something to English when everything else is named in Japanese.

When translating "Manyou no Ittou" to english, the translation could be any of these:
- Blade of Ten Thousand Leaves
- Ten Thousand Leaves' Slash
- Slash of Ten Thousand Leaves
However, by some weird reason, the English team decided to change it to "Kazuha Slash".
u/darkALYE mentioned that this is a pun due Manyou no Ittou's japanese kanjis being 万葉の一刀 (Manyou no Ittou), because Kazuha in kanji is also written as 万葉, but can be read either as Kazuha or as Manyou. "no Ittou" would been translated as "Slash", so that's why Mihoyo translated it as Kazuha Slash.
However, since all other names (Elemental Skill, Skill Effect, and Plunge effect names) are kept in Japanese, it is not logical at all to name the Elemental Burst as "Kazuha slash", so that's why I said that feels unprofessional to keep the japanese name on everything else, but not the Burst name, which is the Special Move of the character and the most iconic technique.
And regarding "Kaedehara Kazuha", I understand why is his surname kept, however, on the Team List it should been displayed just as "Kazuha", the same with Kamisato Ayaka once she is also released, mainly because seeing there the surname and name doesn't look good at all, the font turns very tiny, even show just Kaedehara alone could been a good choice.

I’m from Canada but my boyfriend is French, and he can often guess where someone is from based on their last name. I think this is super cool and would love to hear some tips so I can keep up with him!
For instance, he once mentioned something like surnames ending in “-escu” and some others are indicative of Romanian ancestry. I could be recalling that incorrectly, but stuff like that I find very cool and I would love to hear some from your country! Please don’t hesitate to say obvious ones, too. :)
Hi! I’m currently in Chapter 2 of CS3 and I just gotta say I’m very positively surprised by this game.
I saw a lot of people complaining about the pacing and about the writing of this one and it had me very worried. It’s just my opinion, of course, but to me these two couldn’t be further from the truth!
For the first time I actually feel engaged with the NPCs, and it helps that lots of them are actually from older games. Maybe I’m a bit of a fan service fan lol but I just love the quick callbacks (like >!Linde and Becky in Crossbell for example!<) much more than the usual NPC conversations. For the people who don’t like the writing here, is this something you feel is bad/lazy? My take is I’m pretty thankful for it, we already had enough characters as it were and then to add all the new Branch Campus characters... if there were more relevant NPCs I think I’d be overwhelmed. I’m happy to keep doing quests with callbacks to previous games lol.
Again, just my opinion, but the pacing also really pleases me. Maybe all I explained above influences this, but even though I’m almost 20 hours in and still in Chapter 2 really doesn’t bother me. I loved going to >!Hamel!< and now back to >!Crossbell!<, as just the visits themselves were enough story progress for me. This really makes me wonder what people expected from the story to think it’s slow paced? Not being ironic or anything, genuine question.
Also, the new battle system is super fun and for the first time in the series I find myself actually not avoiding any battles just because I want to play them.
I know it’s still early on and I don’t feel it’s fair to compare CS3 with the previous arcs since it’s so different graphics-wise and gameplay-wise, but unless the story really stagnates it’s bound to be on my top 3.
Another thing that makes me happy is I see a lot of people complaining about sort of the same things in CS4, so I feel much more at ease with not being disappointed if I’m enjoying CS3 this much. Really excited to keep going :)
Just to be clear, I’m by no means saying I’m right and other people are wrong, ok? Anyone can love or hate this game as much as they want! haha
In the second round of this past NFL draft, I noticed that three players whose surname began with O were drafted in a span of five picks. I thought that was a strange coincidence. But it inspired me to check out this page: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/O/.
Eyeballing it, it seemed that quite a large percentage of the players were active in the league. I decided to graph it out.
Roster sizes have remained the same since 2011, so here's the graph of the number of active players whose surname starts with O, for every year since then. That is to say, there were 27 active O-named players in the league in 2011. And there were 48 in the league in 2020. A 78% jump, and I have no idea why.

Okay so, after seeing Matpat react to the first Walten Files video, I went to check it out for myself.
HOLY JEEBUS I HAVE REGRETS. I was so terrified after watching the 3rd one that I couldn't move for 15 solid minutes. Haven't been that scared since I was a little girl!
But, after cleaning the piss out of my pants, I actually became very, very obsessed interested in the lore and story that this series is playing out.
BELOW ARE MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES THUS FAR, DO NOT CONTINUE PAST THE BOLD IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
To recap what I know (I may be wrong on some things, so please go easy on me!! Baby's first theory here!), Sophie Walten is the person that all of the spirits trapped are trying to communicate to, they're calling her for help. The first people that died were her siblings, Edd and Molly Walten, who died when "Uncle Felix" aka Felix Kranken (co-founder of the company), got drunk at a school party he drove them to in order to drown the sorrow of his wife leaving him, and crashed while driving them home drunk. He buried their bodies, not telling anyone what he had done, leaving Rocket (the gray bunny) on their graves down in St. Juana's Forest. Their spirits merge together and possess Rocket.
Here's where things get a little rocky. The general answer to Jack Walten's death is rather unclear, but I do know he was the next to die. He was either murdered by Felix, or he ended his life in the restaurant. Either way, Felix panicked and stuffed his body into Bon.
I'm not gonna get into every single detail of the lore, but my question is this: When Bon killed Brian Stells, a face came onscreen right before his bloodied corpse did. The face in question made different expressions, with weird sound in the background. Does anyone know what it meant, or at least have any sort of clue?
The only person I saw discussing this in the comments said that it was probably Bon realizing that they killed the wrong person, but it honestly didn't seem that way to me, and I just feel like there might be more to it than that. Thank you for reading through this! Let me know what you think!
