A list of puns related to "State Surgeon of Ireland"
I recently had my first baby and was due my 6 week check up a few weeks ago. I was preparing for my GP to have a look at my bits, talk me through the stomach muscle separation and how I can work on it and maybe ask me if there's any physical or mental issues I'm having as a result of creating, carrying and birthing another human.
She checked my blood pressure and asked in that "knowing" way "are you getting support at home?". That. Was. It.
I was so shocked that that is the level of care women get after having a child. I've spoken to a few friends who had the same experience; admittedly some GPs had a look at stitches but it came about due to a suggestion rather than as part of the routine check up.
I dunno. I don't even know what to say except that it is beyond disappointing and shameful that there's not better care after your body and brain have been through quite a traumatic experience.
Any lurkers from other countries what's your level of postnatal care for women? Is Ireland notably bad or is it collectively shite for everyone?
Edited this as I'd like it to be less biased: Can anyone direct me towards statistics + evidence that supports/contradicts her stance?
Also adding this link to an Irish times article, although I can't find the study they've cited at the beginning: https://www.irishtimes.com/business/economy/stagnant-wages-and-expensive-housing-leave-young-people-in-ireland-worse-off-than-parents-1.4560760

This does not include the nurses, and aids of course but those higher up that ladder.
These people charge out the wahzoo for their services and find ways to game the customer and the customer's insurance to make the most money possible. While providing good healthcare, for those willing and able to pay, might be a concern for theirs it is by no means the driving factor.
They are just as greedy as the companies which charge $$$$ for 2ml of medicine. Furthermore, they support the high prices, maybe not publicly, because that means they can charge more for their services too.
And to be fair there are exceptions to this fact but such is not the norm.
I'll stop here too keep this brief and because I've said what I came here to say in broad terms.
Iβm in Maryland. Seems like the most experienced surgeons are in AZ (Dr. J), VA (Nuss & team), and NJ (LoSasso)
Hey everyone, is anyone able to direct me to a resource with either a list of top top surgeons by region / state, or a website that allows you to see top surgery results by filtering by surgeon?
Thanks in advance!

Hello Ireland. I (29M) am from Leeds. Like most of Britain, I am currently dealing with there being fuck all on the shelves of my local supermarket at the moment. My cats are down to the budget litter and they wonβt stop making me feel bad about it.
The general consensus among civilised circles is that this is largely a consequence of Brexit and the lack of EU lorry drivers to deliver the premium Catsan that my cats demand I buy them. However, the usual pro-Brexit fuckheads are churning out the usual βoh no itβs covid, all the lorry drivers are all being pinged by the NHS app and having to self-isolateβ, etc etc. When anyone points out that other European countries are not suffering from LITERAL FOOD SHORTAGES, they switch to saying that, because we are an island, covid border rules are also contributing to our shortages. They also say, furiously wanking into a crusty old Union Jack, that France has started withholding vegetables just to spite us - but thatβs a different matter.
Anyway, this got me thinking. Is Ireland, a fellow European island nation, yet part of the EU, also facing such shortages?
Ta!
