A list of puns related to "Start stop system"
bruh
What is the line an OSR system can't cross? Is it about the "spirit" of OSR or are there some essential mechanics every OSR should have?
I've seen some people arguing that this and that system isn't OSR (like Five Torches Deep), but what's the real deal breaker to you?
We need a better quality of life update then what Im hearing is coming.
My lease is up next month and I'm leaning towards another Impreza Sport as the '17 I have has been a great driver, excellent in snow and an all around useful car for me. The only complaints have been with the head unit flaking out but that seems to be a feature with Subarus.
So I'm pretty sure I cannot get a 2020 without the stop-start system. I've been researching this system ever since it started becoming popular and I fail to see any benefit (except to Johnson Controls who gets to sell millions of deep cycle batteries). They say that the engines have beefed up bearings, higher viscosity oil, bigger starters, etc to handle restarting all the time but I have my doubts that auto makers (any of them) are going to pour a bunch of new tech to make this work. I imagine they will do what is necessary to make the NTSB happy while still making sure the car will outlast the warranty. One thing I don't hear much about is the fact the you are demanding full power immediately after starting the engine because you are always starting to accelerate from a dead stop. Unless there is an electric oil pump keeping the oil flowing I would think that is going to put a strain on not only the crank bearings but all the piston rings. Which means in 3 - 5 years all these stop-start cars are going to be smoking a lot on startup, which really defeats the purpose of this system altogether. Thoughts?
I understand that the voltage regulator plays a huge rule and has a voltage sensor which sense how much voltage is going to the battery and so on, but i still don't know how does it control the flow of current in the circuit.
This is the working principle.
The voltage regulator is the traffic cop of the charging system. It directs the amount of electrical traffic from the alternator to the battery and to the rest of the vehicleβs electrical system. The regulator senses when the vehicleβs electrical needs increase or when the battery needs charging. The regulator then adjusts the alternatorβs electrical output to the system or the battery.
An alternator can make hundreds of instantaneous adjustments each minute. The battery, alternator, and regulator work together to keep the vehicleβs electrical system supplied. When the engine is not running, and at start-up, the battery supplies all of the current for the loads. When the engine is running and the vehicle is operating with normal loads, the alternator supplies current to the system and charges the battery as needed. When the engine is running and the vehicle is operating with low loads, the regulator may direct more current fl ow from the battery and allow the alternator to freewheel for fuel economy, since a one-hundred-amp alternator can consume up to seven horsepower. When the vehicle is operating with peak electrical loads, the regulator directs the alternator and the battery to work together as a team to supply all of the needed current.
Edit: I'm not talking about EV or Hybrid, I'm talking about a car that uses internal combustion engine.
Edit2: consider this case an A.C. magneto, 14V 420W at 5000 rpm , with a lead acid battery 12V-6Ah
I Just bought a 2020 Forester and instead of writing a post about how much I love the vehicle, I'm writing about a terrible engineering decision Subaru made. Those of us who hate the Auto Start/Stop system, have to press a button every time we start the car to disable this annoying feature. Hint, the vehicle should remember the last setting and use it the next time you start the car. How hard can this be?
C'mon Subaru you can do it. Or do you want prospective new customers to keep read annoyance posts like this?
As people slowly become more familiar with the actual top players it is inevitable that we start seeing top 10 player and teams and whatever and that's fine, but I don't really think it's possible.
Fortnite does contain an element of RNG and each game tends to play out very differently from the rest due to the enourmous number of factors involved in a single game. Therefore it is very difficult to be a dominant team. Different teams and players seem to be popping off every other week - and then there are players like Nate Hill who seem to be consistent in coming top 10, but haven't won anything major yet (unless you count twitch rivals).
It's even worse in EU where it honestly feels like there are 52 different teams who take it in turns to have a week as the best team. At first it was Solary, then Gentside, then Atlantis appeared. I saw Team Secret drop 20 kills in a stacked custom squad lobby the other day.
Unless one top team beats another teams a few times in a row in tournaments I don't think it is possible to say which team or player is definitively the best. But we can pretty certainly say that Ghost and Liquid are top tier NA teams with FaZe and nV up there on their day and then we have a second tier with BOXR, C9, SEN, NRG, 100T and a few others.
Tldr: When using auto stop-start, Do I need to wait a bit after I hear/feel my engine start up before I accelerate, or can I step on the gas at the same time I feel the engine start up? Additionally, is it safe to use auto brake hold and auto start-stop simultaneously (see last paragraph for more details)?
Disclaimer: I understand this is probably a very stupid question and does not require as much context as I provided below.
I currently drive a Kia Stinger, and this is the first vehicle I have driven that has an auto stop-start feature. Usually a couple of seconds before I need to accelerate, I decrease brake pressure just enough to turn the engine on but still keep the car in place. I do this to make sure the engine is fully ready for acceleration. Now, if I end up needing to accelerate more quickly out of a stop, I still usually wait roughly 0.25-0.5 seconds after I feel the engine start up before I accelerate. This very slight delay in acceleration is a bit annoying when I want to accelerate immediately out of a stop.
Which is why I'm asking, do I necessarily need to wait a short moment (0.25-0.5 seconds) after the engine starts up before I accelerate, or can I just simply let off the brakes and accelerate (in other words, I step on the gas the moment I hear the engine start up rather than after I hear it start up)?
This goes to my next question. If I have both auto brake hold and auto start-stop enabled, there's no way for me to turn the engine on by releasing some brake pressure (as mentioned in the first paragraph). Therefore, if I have both systems enabled, acceleration and engine start up basically happen simultaneously. Is this harmful for the engine? I'm assuming the answer to this question will be the same as the one to my first question.
EDIT: I understand I can just turn off the auto start-stop if it bothers me. That, however, does not really answer my question.
We've had our Atlas about a week, but I gotta admit- I DESPISE this Start-Stop System. I disable it each time I drive, but my wife has it most of the time with our boys and she says she "doesn't mind it". I have to think that this is going absolutely obliterate my starter and I don't really like the thought TBH. Does the subreddit have any input or experience on the matter that could be insightful for me? Thanks in advance.
I usually switched off my Outback's start-stop system every time I hoipped in. I found it annoying, thought it's not worth it or if it is I don't know when. Also I was afraid to harm the starter. Then I watched this video that claims that you safe up to 8% when you are using it in city traffic and that the starters are built for this practice.
What are you thinking? Are you using the start-stop system?
They really need to take a look at this, when the game starts and if all the vehicles have been selected by other players you're forced to spawn in on the ground. The game won't allow me to select/spawn into any of my teammates vehicles. Which leads to a lucky few going 0-100 straight to objectives in empty vehicles since they don't pick up ANYONE.
It's really annoying starting off almost every match doing cross country running across half of the map to get to an objective. I mean atleast have some sort of transportations around the spawn. Little 4 wheelers or trucks, a fucking bicycle... something
I understand. I understand that it's frustrating to see a coin that you and everyone in your circle called a 'shit coin' take off. I get that seems counter-intuitive to your research, passion, logic, feelings, etc...
But there are very legitimate and logical reasons it keeps happening over and over, even if you don't see those reasons and even if you don't like those reasons.
Here's a few quick, logical reasons for what SHIB is doing today:
There's a lot more I can say on this, but the general point is this:
Stop being surprised by these events. Instead, use your logic and concern and plan for them.
find an amount you are willing to risk and take some risks on promising alt coins. Personally, I keep 5-15% of my portfolio for this purpose. But do whatever you want.
This isn't financial advice. Just my opinion and approach to dealing with what so many people on here seem to have trouble accepting:
Emotional movement in a market is logical. Learn to read it and move accordingly.
I was getting about three spam calls a day, and now that I've been doing this, I only get about one every couple days.
Edit: I forgot to mention that these systems will normally hang up after 10-15 seconds of not hearing anything.
I have an issue with windows animations. Here's the thing:
but every time I restart Windows animations stop after some (couple of seconds) after system starts.
Settings remain unchanged - still reflect that animations should work, but they don't. The only way is to flip the switch off and on again.
Anyone was able to sort that one out? Is there any way to track what overrides system settings causing animations to stop after system start?
I was wondering if anyone knew how the stop start system works in the 2020. Iβve tried guessing as to what indicators it uses to shut down, but theyβve all been proven wrong. Iβve tried searching for answers, but unless Iβm using the wrong words, I canβt find anything.
Iβm just curious as to why itβll turn off sometimes but not all.
I was born in March of 1993
Round 1: One day out of the blue the covenant arrives in the metroid universe with the intent of glassing the norion system(Metroid prime 3 corruption). The covenant will do whatever it can to ensure that the solar system is glassed.
Round 2: Assuming the covenant lost they are chased by the galactic federation to a nearby halo installation. The covenants intention is to set off the ring. The galactic federation has no idea what the ring is supposed to do. No samus.
Round 3: Like round 2 but the flood is released on the installation.
Rounds 4-6: Samus is contracted to fight the covenant but they have full intel on her. She has all of her equipment barring anything that can slow down time.
In reference to the "technology called stop-start, which can shut off the engine when the vehicle isn't moving."
Yes, I realize there's a button that disables it until the next time you turn the car off, but I can't emphasize how much I hate this system, period. It's the single most annoying "feature" I can think of.
Anyone know if it's possible to completely disable it?
This is what it looks like β¬

I just purchased a used 2015 Impreza, and the start-stop system seems to turn off the car fine when stopped, however it turns it back on after ~20 seconds even while my foot is on the brakes. It's an automatic not a manual. I've never had a car with a start-stop system so it's all new to me, and I'm wondering if this is normal for them, or if there is something I can do to correct it?
I've tried searching online but all I've gotten is either people saying they hate the system or how great it is, with no real advice on if this is normal, or how to fix it if it's not. Thanks!
